Madeleine McCann: Her Blood, Official Tabloid News And Michaela Walczuch Denies
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE: IT WAS HER BLOOD IN PARENTS’ HIRE CAR”
“New results sent to Portugal in the last few days show the blood samples could only belong to Madeleine, it was claimed” – claimed…
Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha reports: “The definitive result of the tests leave no doubts for the Policia Judiciaria. The blood found in the McCanns’ car is that of Madeleine as well as those samples detected in the flat”
No doubt? So says a newspaper report that provides the basis to THE WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPER’S lead story
Says McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell: “These reports are very distressing for Kate and Gerry, they are depressed that again wild rumour and speculation is being presented as fact. We wish Portuguese police would just get on with their investigation, come over to England and carry out the interviews with Kate and Gerry and their friends. All those interviews will prove, yet again, that Kate and Gerry have nothing to hide.
“As for the supposed DNA testing, we cannot comment on yet more unsubstantiated rampant speculation in the Portuguese press. It is ridiculous to suggest that Madeleine’s blood was in the hire car because she was never in it. It was hired more than 20 days after she went missing, which means it was impossible for her to have ever been in it”
A friend of the McCanns says: “They were in no way involved in her disappearance, reports like this just add to their anguish. We would also point out that low copy DNA is under review by police forces in this country following the outcome of the Omagh bombing trial”
But it is a sign of police progress, right?
THE SUN front page: “Maddie blood ‘in hire car’”
“The tormented parents of Madeleine McCann reacted in fury last night to new claims that DNA evidence backs the theory they killed her”
KATE AGONY OVER ‘WILD’ DNA CLAIM – Blood specks behind sofa and in car ‘are Maddie’s”. The scent of death?
A ‘wild’ claim repeated in the Sun…
“Now it is being claimed new and ‘definitive’ results from Britain support the police theory that Maddie was killed in the apartment and her body moved in a car hired 25 days AFTER she vanished” – Claimed by Portuguese newspaper Correio Da Manha, from where the Sun gets its news
The Forensic Laboratory in Birmingham says: “Tests are still being carried out. No final report has been submitted to the Portuguese authorities”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE – Blood in car is hers OFFICIAL”
“BLOOD IN CAR IS MADDIE’S OFFICIAL – ‘No doubts’ after test on Renault”
“The findings appear to support the police theory that Madeleine was accidentally killed in the apartment and her parents disposed of her body to mask their negligence”
Only…
“But they come from low-copy DNA analysis – a controversial technique based on just a few human cells which was recently branded unreliable by UK police. Last month, Omagh bomb suspect Sean Hoey walked free after a judge decided this type of testing was not at a sufficiently scientific level to be considered evidence. The Association of Chief Police Officers then announced it was suspending use of the technique in criminal inquiries. And the Crown Prosecution Service in England and Wales is reviewing a number of cases in which it was involved. That means the results in Madeleine’s case could probably never be used in court”
DAILY MAIL: “Did Maddie witnesses mistake this friend of the McCanns for Murat”
As Anorak reprotered yesterday, David Payne, one of the so-called Tapas 7,9 etc., looks not a lot unlike Robert Murat
Mr Murat’s lawyer Francisco Pagarete says: “Robert has always said the witnesses were mistaken. He was not there that night”
“MR MURAT’S girlfriend Michaela Walczuch was yesterday forced to deny claims she had been named as a police suspect in the case. The Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas claimed the mother-of-one, 34, had been made an ‘arguido’, or formal suspect, alongside Mr Murat and the McCanns. Lawyer Mr Pagarete insisted he had been misquoted by the tabloid when discussing her. Police refused to confirm or deny the report”
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Murat’s girlfriend ‘is Madeleine McCann suspect’”
“The Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas reported that Michaela Walczuch, 32, was made an arguida after a witness claimed to have seen her with a small girl two days after four-year-old Madeleine went missing last May”
He is an arguido. She is an aguida
“A spokesman for the Portuguese police said yesterday that she had ‘no information’ about Miss Walczuch being made an official suspect”
Or not…
“ARE spin doctors taking over the world? - The rise and rise of the profession is not confined to politics: even the McCann family, campaigning to find their daughter Madeleine, sought the help of a former BBC journalist, Clarence Mitchell, to manage their publicity”
DAILY MIRROR: “ NEW LEAD ON MADDY”
British tourist Gail Cooper says she saw a “mystery man hanging around Madeleine McCann’s holiday flat just days before she vanished”. Like Paul Gordon did
Ms Cooper say: “He was horrible looking man , really creepy, unkempt and dirty. He definitely wasn’t Portuguese. He scared me”
Is there more than one creepy man in Praia da Luz? Another oddball?
Says Cooper: “I’m sure this man had something to do with Madeleine’s disappearance”
THE SCOTSMAN: “New claims on blood in McCann’s hire car
“Blood traces found in the hire car used by Kate and Gerry McCann were from their missing daughter Madeleine, according to a Portuguese newspaper”
IRISH INDEPENDENT: “Please don’t make this into another Maddy’”
Amy Fitzpatrick is missing. She is Irish. Her mother lives in Spain. Amy is 15. she went missing as she walked home on New Year’s Day from a friend’s house where she was babysitting in Calahonda near Mijas in southern Spain
“Outside Amy’s home, a gated development called Riviera Del Sol, just outside Fuengirola, children played in the shrubland, oblivious to the fact a teenager had vanished nearby without a trace. Some poked through shrubbery, others rode their bikes. It was a very different scene to that when Madeleine McCann disappeared last summer in Portugal, when locals and ex-pats joined the search to try and find the missing girl. But the family does not want a repeat of the publicity which has surrounded her case. ‘Please don’t turn this into a circus,’ a family spokesman said last night. ‘Don’t make it another Maddy. Let the police do their job’”
There is only one Madeleine McCann – Her story so far

And yet you defend these ‘doctors’ who are empowered to judge others in their professions and who are setting the precedent that its ‘ok’ to leave little ones alone (as long as there are abductors around)!
You are a little confused.

I’m always lagging behind everyone due to the time difference but want to chime in on the McCanns money-making movie venture. I read all the comments on the Daily Mail article (95 so far) and all but one or two are very negative toward the couple. The McCanns are their own worst enemies. I think they have lost the respect of most all good people who once supported them by this announcement. People are beginning to wake up and smell the coffee.

Agree re the film. Quite crazy - and so must they be!
BabyJane, I don’t know if you were here last night when we were given the sad news, Maria has left us. She finally couldn’t bear all the aggravation and, after a couple of days sniffing around for a new site, she has found one, where the people are much kinder and willing to (wait for it!) sometimes change their views to those suggested by other posters.
Some posters told her how sorry they were she was going and how much they would miss her. It was touching. I myself bade her a sad farewell with a little nonsense rhyme, and invited her back for a visit.
We must wish her luck in managing her hectic schedule of frequenting the new site inbetween board meetings in San Francisco and business breakfasts in Hawaii.
(I am actually wondering whether we have actually misjudged her. Was she actually a pro-McCann or a simple fruit and nut?)

I can see the movie now…”The Wider Agenda”. Can you imagine them handing out sick bags when you walk into that film? The last time people were widely reported as vomiting at a film it was in the 70s when the Exorcist was released. Please tell me they won’t use that decent Scottish actor who played in Last King of Scotland for Gerry.

must also say that to believe aunts uncles grandparents know and would say nothing, for the sake of a few pound.would be to believe that beautiful little girl meant squat to anyone untill her demise.i would rather hold the believe that someone close to K.G will someday be their undoing.that way life holds more than a monitary value

Whilst the financial records of the “fighting fund” will probably, with the exception of the couple of mortgage payments, be whiter than white - I would love to see the in’s and out’s of the detective agencies cash.
It seems to me that, even in these expensive times, these guys want a lot of dosh for very little return - unless of course the ‘return’ is cash going back in to an account somewhere that the prying eyes of the rest of the world can’t see.
No!!! That’s far too cynical a viewpoint - let’s face it, anyone who is willing to exploit their, as yet, undead childs memory for a few minutes on the silver screen can’t be all bad. Can they????

January 8th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
A set of useful language translators for those Portuguese articles all in one place: http://translation.langenberg.com/
Interestingly the one near the bottom (InterTran) makes some hilarious translations. It calls the police “bobby”. Here’s a translated extract from a Correio Manhã news story yesterday:
“By investigators from the Laboratory as of Bobby Scientific AND specialists from the Instituto as of Medicine Legal. APPOINTMENT WELL INTO England The investigators from the PJ AND the specialists as of Medicine Legal have been the one England for evaluating the collection as of remnants.”
Or…for LONE PIGEON/RedRooster:
“There are as well as a hassle in this ascertainment the frame feather well into he causes.”

The only issue people have with going on holiday to Portugal is that the Portuguese might not be very nice to us because of the behaviour of the (alleged) criminals McCann.
Portugal is a fine country with a fine people - as is Spain. Much prefer them to the French!
January 8th, 2008 at 3:25 pm
Afternoon all.
Well. News at last. One resignation, and the confirmation of what most of us on here were expecting and dreading - Madeleine’s DNA in the hire car.
It still amazes me the bare faced effontery of the McConns. Neither of them appear to have a scrap of decency about them ……. and the thought of a film fills me with horror.
One thing that has struck me as curious in all this is the lack of support from friends, work colleaugues of them both. Nowhere have I seen a report saying that such and such friend of Gerry / Kate said, or the regular babysitter said something along the lines of “I sit for them regularly etc ” Do they never use babysitters and therfore Portugal was not unusual or do they not go out?
Have they no friends other than the Tapas 7?
Her demeanour of calm quiet coolness and her haughty way of looking at people is IMO insufferable arrogance, but I still feel she is subjugated to her husband. IMO she is the one who is most likely to have harmed Madeleine, but he has been the instigator of the whole cover up situation.
I thought the Mrs Penn quotes re Kate being in the apartment when Madeleine was screaming most interesting. The implication being that Kate stayed in. But I thought they’d al gone to Chaplins. Ergo . Kate and Gerry came back to sort the kids out. Gerry returned and Kate stayed, what was she doing to her daughter? Could this have been when she lost it totally?
So.. did Gerry finally return to find Kate, white faced, evil and beyond control and Madeleine, beyond help? He could not have summoned help, other than his doctor friends since to do so would have meant implicating his wife in god knows what.
The washed curtains have always bothered me. Why wash the curtains in a holiday let? How would you dry them? Why wouldn’t someone notice? But I read somewhere that they refused the maid service on the day of May 3rd. So was the big clean up then? and where was Madeleine during that day?
For that matter how did they get her blood into the hire car 25 days later?
Looking at her pictures not for a moment do I believe she was still wearing nappies. And with their liking for star charts I can’t imagine that she would not have been clean at nearly 4.
Metodo 3, conspicuous by their absence today in light of the news, must now be wondering whether the next paycheck will arrive.
Have we any further news on the towel, barn etc.?
All IMO and pure speculation

“IMHO, if they are serious about helping they could possibly consider going back without waiting for an invite”.
Especially as they say they are completely innocent.
———————————————————————————————————————————
And so was Joann Cipriano’s mother and look what happened to her!!!
+++++++++++
Yes, she was found guilty!
You’re “defence” of the McCann’s is based not on any proof of “their” innocence but on the “possibility” that there may have been some wrongdoing in another unrelated case. The allegation to which you imply are as yet unproven. Even if they are ever proven it doesn’t automatically follow that their has/is any similar wrongdoing on the part of the PJ in the Madeleine case.
RESPONSE: Joann Cipriano and her brother had an incestous relationship. The girl revealed it and when she went to her grandfather to tell him, the incestous couple killed her. The grandfather was a witness in this case. Not only did they kill the girl, but they humilated her in every possible way.
If you compare the McCanns to this couple you put them in good company and it seems they deserve it. Shure you want to forget the blood of Madeleines corpse, they found in the hired car, but it’s a fact you can’t deny.

Not a good argument really.
What you basically saying is that a persons word is only ever as good as the instant that it is given.
If I say I will not do something, then it is not unreasonable for people to assume that I am genuinely intending not to do that thing. If I then do it and claim that circumstances have changed and continue to take that line on numerous occasions afterward then people are entitled to distrust my word.
Yawn - boring isnt it.
