Madeleine McCann: Her Blood, Official Tabloid News And Michaela Walczuch Denies
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE: IT WAS HER BLOOD IN PARENTS’ HIRE CAR”
“New results sent to Portugal in the last few days show the blood samples could only belong to Madeleine, it was claimed” – claimed…
Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha reports: “The definitive result of the tests leave no doubts for the Policia Judiciaria. The blood found in the McCanns’ car is that of Madeleine as well as those samples detected in the flat”
No doubt? So says a newspaper report that provides the basis to THE WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPER’S lead story
Says McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell: “These reports are very distressing for Kate and Gerry, they are depressed that again wild rumour and speculation is being presented as fact. We wish Portuguese police would just get on with their investigation, come over to England and carry out the interviews with Kate and Gerry and their friends. All those interviews will prove, yet again, that Kate and Gerry have nothing to hide.
“As for the supposed DNA testing, we cannot comment on yet more unsubstantiated rampant speculation in the Portuguese press. It is ridiculous to suggest that Madeleine’s blood was in the hire car because she was never in it. It was hired more than 20 days after she went missing, which means it was impossible for her to have ever been in it”
A friend of the McCanns says: “They were in no way involved in her disappearance, reports like this just add to their anguish. We would also point out that low copy DNA is under review by police forces in this country following the outcome of the Omagh bombing trial”
But it is a sign of police progress, right?
THE SUN front page: “Maddie blood ‘in hire car’”
“The tormented parents of Madeleine McCann reacted in fury last night to new claims that DNA evidence backs the theory they killed her”
KATE AGONY OVER ‘WILD’ DNA CLAIM – Blood specks behind sofa and in car ‘are Maddie’s”. The scent of death?
A ‘wild’ claim repeated in the Sun…
“Now it is being claimed new and ‘definitive’ results from Britain support the police theory that Maddie was killed in the apartment and her body moved in a car hired 25 days AFTER she vanished” – Claimed by Portuguese newspaper Correio Da Manha, from where the Sun gets its news
The Forensic Laboratory in Birmingham says: “Tests are still being carried out. No final report has been submitted to the Portuguese authorities”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE – Blood in car is hers OFFICIAL”
“BLOOD IN CAR IS MADDIE’S OFFICIAL – ‘No doubts’ after test on Renault”
“The findings appear to support the police theory that Madeleine was accidentally killed in the apartment and her parents disposed of her body to mask their negligence”
Only…
“But they come from low-copy DNA analysis – a controversial technique based on just a few human cells which was recently branded unreliable by UK police. Last month, Omagh bomb suspect Sean Hoey walked free after a judge decided this type of testing was not at a sufficiently scientific level to be considered evidence. The Association of Chief Police Officers then announced it was suspending use of the technique in criminal inquiries. And the Crown Prosecution Service in England and Wales is reviewing a number of cases in which it was involved. That means the results in Madeleine’s case could probably never be used in court”
DAILY MAIL: “Did Maddie witnesses mistake this friend of the McCanns for Murat”
As Anorak reprotered yesterday, David Payne, one of the so-called Tapas 7,9 etc., looks not a lot unlike Robert Murat
Mr Murat’s lawyer Francisco Pagarete says: “Robert has always said the witnesses were mistaken. He was not there that night”
“MR MURAT’S girlfriend Michaela Walczuch was yesterday forced to deny claims she had been named as a police suspect in the case. The Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas claimed the mother-of-one, 34, had been made an ‘arguido’, or formal suspect, alongside Mr Murat and the McCanns. Lawyer Mr Pagarete insisted he had been misquoted by the tabloid when discussing her. Police refused to confirm or deny the report”
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Murat’s girlfriend ‘is Madeleine McCann suspect’”
“The Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas reported that Michaela Walczuch, 32, was made an arguida after a witness claimed to have seen her with a small girl two days after four-year-old Madeleine went missing last May”
He is an arguido. She is an aguida
“A spokesman for the Portuguese police said yesterday that she had ‘no information’ about Miss Walczuch being made an official suspect”
Or not…
“ARE spin doctors taking over the world? - The rise and rise of the profession is not confined to politics: even the McCann family, campaigning to find their daughter Madeleine, sought the help of a former BBC journalist, Clarence Mitchell, to manage their publicity”
DAILY MIRROR: “ NEW LEAD ON MADDY”
British tourist Gail Cooper says she saw a “mystery man hanging around Madeleine McCann’s holiday flat just days before she vanished”. Like Paul Gordon did
Ms Cooper say: “He was horrible looking man , really creepy, unkempt and dirty. He definitely wasn’t Portuguese. He scared me”
Is there more than one creepy man in Praia da Luz? Another oddball?
Says Cooper: “I’m sure this man had something to do with Madeleine’s disappearance”
THE SCOTSMAN: “New claims on blood in McCann’s hire car
“Blood traces found in the hire car used by Kate and Gerry McCann were from their missing daughter Madeleine, according to a Portuguese newspaper”
IRISH INDEPENDENT: “Please don’t make this into another Maddy’”
Amy Fitzpatrick is missing. She is Irish. Her mother lives in Spain. Amy is 15. she went missing as she walked home on New Year’s Day from a friend’s house where she was babysitting in Calahonda near Mijas in southern Spain
“Outside Amy’s home, a gated development called Riviera Del Sol, just outside Fuengirola, children played in the shrubland, oblivious to the fact a teenager had vanished nearby without a trace. Some poked through shrubbery, others rode their bikes. It was a very different scene to that when Madeleine McCann disappeared last summer in Portugal, when locals and ex-pats joined the search to try and find the missing girl. But the family does not want a repeat of the publicity which has surrounded her case. ‘Please don’t turn this into a circus,’ a family spokesman said last night. ‘Don’t make it another Maddy. Let the police do their job’”
There is only one Madeleine McCann – Her story so far

The thing is this. If the PJ really do have some strong evidence for death but they have no body, this will only emphasise them looking like the Keystone Cops. See, they probably aren’t doing things the McCanns or their supporters want to see because frankly there’s no point. If they have strong evidence saying Madeleine is dead, firstly, they can’t reveal the true nature of that evidence and secondly, they’d be wasting their own resources doing all those things that Team McCann want them to. So, in effect, we see the PJ doing nothing to chase up sightings - because they know 100% that they are bogus.
I think the body is incredibly well hidden or disposed of for good and they are banking on some kind of confession rather than taking it to trial purely on the evidence available. Murat can’t be released from arguido status because the PJ know he could compromise things by talking to papers etc. So, they keep him as arguido and they’re making Team McCann hot under the collar waiting for that phone to ring IMO.

I’vebeen thinking about this and I think this whole movie charade is just the tip of the iceberg.
We will be hearing a LOT more negative on the McSpits from now on as this is their new strategy.
Clarence WANTS the public opinion to turn against the Holy Ones so he can claim they cannot get a fair trial in the UK.
It’s all strategy.
I think the papers need to ignore this case COMPLETELY for now and shred them to pieces once the trial starts.

But wasn’t she leaving also last month, and the month before that….and…again….?
I agree with you about the pointed questions, though. I expect she’ll be back again, soon enough…as though she’d never left!

Yes, you’re right.
I know about the pending case concerning Amaral.
Ciprianos advocat has a photo of Cipriano, where she seems to have a battered face.
The area around her eyes were black. This kind of injury normally happens,
if the nose gets broken. No matter if Amaral or an other policeman was responsable for this injury (if it’s indeed what I think), that doesn’t change the fact that the grandfather of the girl was a witness in court and accused his children of incest and torturing his grandchild. It must have been very hard for him. Also neighbours reported the mishandling of the girl. Last but not least the brother witnessed they battered the girl to death. They threw her against the wall, over and over.
Now Cipriano claims she would have sold her daughter to a foreigner.
I think everybody can have a good conscience. The couple is there, where they should be. Amaral made a good job.

Hullo, thanks for the co-sympathy!
But these reactions are to be expected. I think the whole movie info from CM is just a bit of bravado–they must be increasingly desperate, and so is their fan base.
You know, I had to go back and read a bit the earlier posts today, and 9 an observer had written something like “time is of the essence when a child is missing,” but that is only in the first 48 hours. After that, if the child is age 5 or less, the outcome is usually that there is foul play involved.
then, I thought about it in terms of psychological gamesmanship the McCanns are clearly playing here: time is not of the essence because the PJ know madeleine is likely dead. So first, the McCanns played a waiting game–”Help! Madeleine is missing! We will stay in Portugal until she is found.” Then, they played a crying game–”Boo hoo hoo! We had nothing to do with the disappearance of our lovely daughter! Christmas is sooooo hard without her!” Now, they are playing a money game–want to take away our lucrative madeleine fund, do you? Well, how about we just go for the REAL payoff right now, and make a bloody movie!”
I’m not sure I agree with Ade that it’s fun, fun fun all the time. But it is luridly fascinating to watch their machinations. But I do wonder about the safety of their surviving children.
the fact they’d even consider a movie shows that they are not really operating in reality now, whether they are innocent or guilty.
Wonder what Tony Bennett thinks. Can anything be done?

I clearly remember back in May posters on here were claiming ‘oh there’s no need to involve the police for 48 hours’ after a child goes missing, I got pilloried for saying that time was of the essence and why wait….
So, I gathered from that , you leave your kids alone and then don’t lift a finger for 2 days…..yeah right.

Your vivid description of Maria saying farewell and moving on to pastures new and better has cheered me up again, thanks!
P.S.: When she recently informed you (after you asked why she always gives detailed notice of her activities when leaving) that not only one, but in fact TWO friends had visited her, I could almost feel how much you were giggling at that moment (and so did I).

Me, too.
But those who saw and see her as harmless weren’t reading the subtexts. Although she came across as a presenter on a digital lifestyle channel she knew a great deal, and spent a lot of time asking pointed questions.
However, she did make a couple of boobs (out of pink balloons and glace cherries)

I WONDER if someone ever found the child does the reward still exsist .have they spent it knowing she wont be found.if so would that not go along way to building a circumstanial case.in rescent years more and more convictions have been secured without finding a body.im begining to believe their campaign was more in aid of making it difficult to find a jury

I was hoping you’d show up. I read your post from late yesterday.
Do you have a link? I’ve been looking for that photo by the Star but can’t find it.
January 8th, 2008 at 5:39 pm
i think a good topic for a film starts at the point where against huge public opinion they are let off to protect govt paedos.
the the film unravels how, over a long period of time, they meet with strange accidents
the corrupt uk plod are bamboozled (not difficult) but suspect a serial killer
things are said in the commons
the wretches are whittled down one by one, nevertheless.
it gets to the last two left (who have now divorced and lost custody of their twins)
they then go to the “big boys” for protection
while being assured of their safety they are eliminated by mi5
the big boys feel safe in their lodge
but the serial killer has found out their identities
after a few months the big boys start to die through mysterious accidents
one by one
the finale…
can’t tell you that…
aren’t films brilliant

Hi all,
Anyone noticed that the Star used the last picture of maddie minus the elbow ?
Also Chapmans night when Mrs Fenn heard Maddie crying out for her Daddy from 10.00pm until 11.15pm, was Tuesday the first of May.
The confusion arises because on The sky Programme Martin Brunt said a Neighbour had heard Madeleine crying out on…………A………… previous night………..not………….THE……..previous night.
It was definitely the 1st two nights before the “smoke and mirrors” plan went into action.

“IMHO, if they are serious about helping they could possibly consider going back without waiting for an invite”.
Especially as they say they are completely innocent.
———————————————————————————————————————————
And so was Joann Cipriano’s mother and look what happened to her!!!
+++++++++++
Yes, she was found guilty!
You’re “defence” of the McCann’s is based not on any proof of “their” innocence but on the “possibility” that there may have been some wrongdoing in another unrelated case. The allegation to which you imply are as yet unproven. Even if they are ever proven it doesn’t automatically follow that their has/is any similar wrongdoing on the part of the PJ in the Madeleine case.
RESPONSE: Joann Cipriano and her brother had an incestous relationship. The girl revealed it and when she went to her grandfather to tell him, the incestous couple killed her. The grandfather was a witness in this case. Not only did they kill the girl, but they humilated her in every possible way.
If you compare the McCanns to this couple you put them in good company and it seems they deserve it. Shure you want to forget the blood of Madeleines corpse, they found in the hired car, but it’s a fact you can’t deny.
++++++++++++++++++
Sabrina – I take it your response was meant for 337 a McCann supporter? I believe this poster is alluding to the fact that there are pending charges against Amaral and some of his colleagues because it is “alleged” that they “beat” confessions from Joann Cipriano – I believe there is a pending court case in this matter. Time will tell whether there is any merit to these allegations. Irrespective of whether or not there is merit to these charges it offers no defence to the McCann’s, unless of course they wish to allege that Amaral and his men took them into a darkened room to beat confessions from them?

I know - I saw them attacking you the other day. A bit of smoke and mirrors and they get all panicked. An old friend of mine - his wife was one of those people that had to unplug all the electrical appliances in the house before going to bed. The rooms were always flashing because the clocks on devices would revert to the reset time and of course they were useless because unplugging everything reset timers on VHS recorders etc. Some people are worriers and worry over the slightest thing - usually borne out of OCD.

To run a bar, tapas or otherwise, you need a clean record to get a license, and you have to work your butt off, and since hard work, daily, is something neither McCann seems to know a thing about, it’s likely not their cup of tea, dontcha think?
January 8th, 2008 at 5:35 pm
Person who posted link to the Guardian saying film article came from CM.
A lightbulb that someone has probably already spotted. I think CM’s statements are verbatum Gerry’s.
Think about it, if you were the PJ/UK counterparts, you would want to know as much as possible about what’s going on in G&K’s heads.
This theory makes the most sense to me. Government want CM off their hands anyway, dispatch CM to take the mantle from the McCann’s - who said that “KM was volatile so unfortunately someone had to take the mantle on this site I think -
Maybe KM was causing too much diplomatic trouble, not only did they need controlling but planting CM was also a perfect opportunity to get GM’s message from the horses mouth so to speak.
I remember in a radio interview with CM, sun editor and other journalists, the one where he was told to “calm down” when someone pulled up CM on the guy with the special “Box” - south African. This person said, words to the effect “We know why you’re doing it, and your’s doing a good job, but was it you that leaked the (said south african and special box) story. CM sounded a bit embarrassed and defensive and basically said that the papers were printing numerous stories so he had an obligation to meet like with like.
I reckon th CM blurb on the Guardian is a written, word for word statement by G. Then think about the disingenuous repetition of the statements re ludicrous, hurtful etc used CM and by those Tapas who have made statements to the press. I bet everything that CM has said is scripted by GM. That’s why CM sticks to the script absolutely and why he uses “we” which is actually a Gerry “we” for him and K.
Anyway, more speculative food for thought for me as I do the dishes.
Can anyone point me in the direction of Gerry’s “confession”. The one where he talks about people doing something in the heat of the moment and regret. Was that in his blog?
Sorry this post is a bit long.

Agree with you. There was a notorious case in New York about two decades ago–Joel Stienberg & Hedda Nusbaum. She was a writer of children’s books, he was a lawyer. They were both a bit bent on cocaine, and they “adopted” two children. Lisa–I think she was around 5–was horribly abused, and although they didn’t intend to kill her, she did die. When the police came round, they found the younger boy in dirty diapers, obviously ill-cared for, Hedda in some kind of stupor. Joel was charged (I believe he’s still in prison) but Hedda, well, there was a lot of pity for poor Hedda, who had a boxer’s nose and cauliflower ears from Joel’s alleged abuse, and she was given psychiatric treatment, etc.
I will look up the case as I am now curious about how it all went down. Not docs but a lawyer and writer, “university-educated professionals!” So very similar, except for the fact that they were too zonked out to dispose of the body, leave their door intentionally unlocked (they lived in Greenwich Village in NYC), and claim that an evil abductor had absconded with “their daughter.” Adopted, too, so similar bio-DNA issues arise….
