A book? Like the Daily Express book? That sick..?

And what of this £10million, and the money earned from any film? “The windfall would help finance the search for Madeleine after concerns were raised that a special fund set up by the family was in crisis”
Page 5: The Find Madeleine fund is down to its last £400,000. More money is needed. So why the “outrage”?
Says the McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell: “We need money to search for Madeleine and that is the most important thing. Nothing has been decided yet. A film would be made on a percentage basis, with part of the profits going to the fund. None of the money would go to Kate and Gerry. They are not trying in any way to profit out of her name’’
And how many films ever make a profit? It would be a film, perhaps, like that about 15-year-old Amy Smart, abducted in the US and found eight months later. “Several movies were made about her while she was missing including The Amy Smart Story”
The “WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPER” does not say if the Amy Smart story made any money. But it does trawl the web and see blog comments like:
“Angry” Pamela Blears, from Oldham, posts: “From the day little Madeleine disappeared I have felt sympathy and compassion for the McCanns but this beggers belief. How can they think about making a film out of the tragedy when the poor child hasn’t even been found yet? How low can you get?”
The Daily Express costs “ONLY 40p”
“McCANNS FEAR CHARGES SOON” – “A source close to the family” tells us: “Kate and Gerry insist they are innocent but they fear they will be charged. Naturally Kate and Gerry are concerned that if this line of inquiry continues to its natural conclusion, charges are always a possibility and they know that’s entirely wrong”
He added: “The Portuguese police seem to be blinkered in their approach and it feels like they want to find the McCanns guilty regardless.”
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE: THE £10M MOVIE – Skint parent to sell film rights”
Skint? The Find Madeleine Fund is dwindling, down to its last “£200,000”. But Gerry McCann is going back to work. He is, as the tabloids never tire to telling us, “a heart consultant”. She is a “GP”
Says the Star: “The couple – who are prime suspects – are in negotiations with the world’s biggest talent and entertainment agency IMG”
IMG – International Management Group– has produced the films Touching the Void, Assault on Waco, Seconds from Disaster, I Shouldn’t be Alive and Kevin and Perry Go Large. Naomi Campbell is on the books

Not £10m? Such are the perils of showbiz?
Says the paper: “So far the McCanns, both 39, have turned down offers from big-name chat shows and television dramas as they were anxious to avoid being seen as celebrities”
But we watching the parents. So why not make profit, if it will help?
“Disgraced banker Nick Leeson earned a reported £450,000 when he sold the rights to his autobiography, Rogue Trader. Offers to Austrian kidnap victim Natascha Kampusch were said to have topped £1million”
And: “But Gerry McCann was quick to deny the story”
COMMENT: “Maddie the movie: One step too far – Ever since their daughter Madeleine disappeared, Kate and Gerry McCann have ridden a wave of public sympathy. True, there are some (including the Portuguese police) who have aired deeply hurtful suspicions about the couple since that terrible evening in May. But the overwhelming public mood - particularly among parents of young children - has been one of compassion. Today, however, the McCanns risk losing much of that goodwill. But it is already the subject of a media circus. So why not a DVD – we’ve had the T-shirt, the song, the billboards and the trailers..?

Critics who have never forgiven Gerry and Kate for leaving their kids alone in their holiday apartment will be confirmed in their view that the couple have truly terrible judgment. They will be accused of bad taste; of lacking respect for Madeleine’s memory. Kate will be charged with wanting to swan down the red carpet, even though in this case it is sorrow, not vanity, that has reduced her to a Hollywood Size Zero”

I’m not dishonest at all and very much resent your saying I am.
As I said to another poster today (and got accused of telling lies, which in a way I could understand as I had said ‘none’ instead of ‘most’ - but obviously they should have known I was tongue in cheek as I was responding to their post!) I don’t read all of the posts and those that look like rubbish (really silly ones) I ignore. Most of Hidekis were in that ’stupid’ category.
I had no idea that the lines you used meant what they now appear to have meant in any case or I promise you I’d have immediately posted to mods and admin.
Anyway, my issue currently is that mods and admin themselves repeated a horrific line and I want it removed. I also think the stupid childish arguments - prompted by a recent spate of accusations against me as being a bully and a veiled bullying threat by will - pale into insignificance when compared with this line.
I do not disagree with mods and admin that posters hurling abuse at each other is pointless - I have pointed out the behaviours against me many times (sledgehammer, will, garth) but mods and admin chose to ignore them.
Personally I have always challenged authority and at my age its not likely that I will be ale to stop, but I also respect appropriate authority and think without people like me pushing the boundaries, we would live in an even more tightly controlled society (hard to imagine it worse though it is).
If I get ‘red carded’ for this, so be it - it will mean it’s not a place I would not want to be a part of in any case.

I am not good at providing links which is why I never provide them. I have told you however how to get to multiple links and therefore I find it very frustrating that you are trying to deny information which is there in black and white, simply because you cannot admit that you were wrong in the first place. This is not a speculative matter, it is factual. TB has already pointed you to the legislation which indicates that some issues can be dealt with in the home country - I didn’t point these out because they have been dealt with so many times on this site that I presumed that if anyone really wanted to check, they could just go to the relevant legislation (and no, I don’t have a link but it’s definitely there. Just because I don’t have links and am so computer illiterate doesn’t mean the information doesn’t exist).
This Old Bailey trial and the murder convictions were headline news last year and the link to this is in my brain. However, if you refuse to believe all the reporting on this prominent Old Bailey trial, I will try to find you a link to the prisons where the pair are serving their life sentences (of 20+ years as ordered by the judge) and perhaps you could pop down and visit them. They could fill you in on the details, I am sure - but then you would probably come back and say they were inside for shop-lifting, wouldn’t you?

Their idea for a movie is STUPID. Boring.
Plot: We went out 5 nights running, 4 hours a night, all the time checking on the kids every twenty minutes, then whoosh click, kid is gone. Now we’re superstars, saddened, focused on the tasks at hand, disappointed at being made arguidos … but determined to raise even more money to hopefully end with riding camels into the desert to retrieve a very suntanned and thin, but still-speaking-English Madeleine. Lots of soulful moments clutching CuddleCat and flicking away tears from cheeks, gazing out to te sea from various balconies while the reporters hover around respectfully.

The tactic of claiming that anyone disagreeing with you is clearly a paid pro-paedophile pro is done to death on a number of forums.
Over on the mirror it’s usually in reverse to the one which was flogged here; if you don’t accept that Madeleine was abducted by a paedophile then you must be a paedophile, or, at best, a paedophile sympathiser.
Anorak has done its best to provide a forum where people can discuss why the anglo-american obsession with this has emerged; it is a profound social change which we really don’t understand.
It must be deeply disheartening to watch the petty bickering…

Don’t most of us only realise how important someone is to us, until we actually miss them? Don’t we take most things for granted? We know chances are high our parents and grandparents will die before we do. Most of us also have brothers and sisters or husbands and children. And most of us love them. Does that stop us to quarrel with them?
Does that stop us to think or say sometimes : “drop dead” without REALLY meaning them to drop dead.
If I were them, and I was innocent in her disappearance [except for leaving them alone] don’t you think I would regret that to the end of my life? Don’t you think I would wish I could turn the clock back and change my words and my behaviour e.g. rent a babysitter or stay at home?
