“there was ‘only £670,000 left”
I asked this yesterday but got no response. Why are they asking for more money?
1. Probability of finding a live child now miniscule.
2. They still have an enormous amount of money left - especially as all legal costs/any reward etc. are not coming out of this amount.
3. Requesting extra money insinuated they know that Madeleine will not be found in the next day or so. (Why do they think this?)
4. How long are they going to keep the charade up? Do they think people do not understand the law of ‘diminishing marginal returns’.
5. Before asking for more money, why don’t they give us a full account of how much they have actually taken in already, and how much has been spent - and most importantly of all - what was it spent on.

You could be right about that, on the other hand it seems the pj think there are some contradictions in the stories. By reinterviewing asap they could have cleared that [may be].
You and I know it’s important that witnesses memories don’t get “contaminated”. So questioning them, and again and again isn’t abnormal and should be done asap. With proper written statements, and preferable videotaped interviews.
Most of those (not you) who say ‘the police should have charged them by now’ are McCann supporters just trying to make the PJ look inefficient or incompetent.
Right. I think they don’t have [yet] enough evidence to charge anyone. And maybe they won’t ever get the evidence for charging the parents for more serious charges then neglect [which itself is serious enough] because there is the [slim I admit - and all imo alledged etc.- ] chance they are innocent in harming/killing their daughter.

I must admit I have my doubts regarding mr Amaral [and I don't refer to the cigarett ashes and so on stories]. I do think mr Rebela has a hard nut to crack. I hope he succeeds.

Clarence Mitchell just been on Radio 5 Live this evening and was (inter alia) talking to the woman who is charging £600-an-hour for her ‘Madeleine lookalike’.
He professed disgust…
…but Clarence then asked if she would be prepard to give a cut of her takings to the Find Madeleine Fund! (it was stated by Clarence that there was ‘only £670,000 left’ in the Fund as it was mostly going on detectives).
There are dozens more ‘Disgusted, Tunbridge Wells’ on the Mirror Forums tonight as a result!

I accept that people may attack Kate and Gerry for not bothering to go out to look on 3rd May, but they were exhaused. They had loads to think about and plan. It is not easy having to face the press and fill in trademark forms. And anyone who has ever had to open a PayPal account will understand what they went through.

The Reservoir or Harem Pants?
I wonder which way the defense will go …
The reservoir didn’t pan out anything in the search last fall, remember?
PJ already had police divers out there when they traced the McCanns to that area.
I remember reading a thread about it.
Perhaps their IS a body there somewhere, but no one is admitting to putting it there yet.
But they wont find her according to Kate and her mum.
Kate has that motherly feeling that Madeleine is alive somewhere. Remember the dry cry? Hopefully Madeleine is living like a princess, mom and dad say. Maybe wearing harem pants and in line to be married to a guy with 13 wives–you still have hope. Meanwhile Mr. and Mrs. Healy are somewhere trying to wrap their brains around all this. Whose to blame here? Because it can’t be their Kate. The Healy’s will probably believe the reservoir story rather than believe that about their Kate.
Unfortunately, Kate and Gerry can be tied to the location as well.

At last a poster who understands and is prepared to stand up for justice. But I would suggest that they are guilty of just one thing. Guilty of being naive. Naive in wearing their hearts on their sleeves and allowing us all to know all their thoughts and feelings. But they did it with the best reason in the world. To keep awareness raised so that they could continue to help remind everyone that M was still missing. And that money was needed to find her.

i really think they need to try to raise more awareness of the fact that madeleine is missing…just a thought but has anyone been to the outer hebrides or the north pole yet with some of them posters and maybe some wristbands or t shirts. Well you never know someone must know something. im just trying to help
