If there were really discrepancies vital to the investigation (other than “I checked at about 9 o’clock - or maybe it was 9.15?”), this must have been clear since September. But it has taken the authorities 4 months to even request for a clarification. It is for sure that witness statements wouldn’t become more precise after 4 months. So my only explanation is the need to gain time. Time for what?

Im not sure but it could be semantics? A person who is a missing person might be a dead missing person and would likely remain so until a body was found?
You might have very good reason to beleive a person is dead but wouldnt announce them on a public web site unless the nearest and dearest are informed? If they are suspects in an investigation and you have evidence which you need to keep secret to maintain the integrity of the investigation, its a bit of a difficult position to be in!
The easiset thing to do is not to do anything and retain the same public face.
So I dont really think it means too much sledgehammer.

One day we hear they think she died by falling from the stairs, next day they think her parents sold her, next day they think she’s dead, next day they think she’s abducted AND most probably dead, next day she’s abducted and MIGHT be still alive…..
I agree she’s most likely dead. By whom I don’t know.
Her parents and grandparents seem to believe she’s still alive.
I don’t know what Clarrie thinks [remember his faux pas about G&K accepting she might be dead and GM the next day stating they don't believe she's dead?].
A while ago mr. Smethurst seemed to believe she was still alive.
I hope she’s still alive and well, unharmed. Chances are small, sadly.

Even if the window of opportunity had been 24 hours the theory of abduction still does not really hold up given other forensic conclusions and given a five minute window, the abduction theory is really is shot to bits.
That the Priest was pissed off with being duped and with the Vatican cutting their ties early on in the piece is a good indication of some wrong doing being uncovered. If the church found out any dirty facts at such an early stage I’m sure the PJ are in possession of the same.
The statements about taking a lie detector test and being willing to return to Portugal were thrown into the public arena but never happened. But it lingers in the minds of lots of people that they still did offer, thus seeming they have nothing to hide.
The video in the van on the way to their holiday was a strange one. Be interesting to know what put Gerry in such a horrible mood. Or was this his usual demeanour.
The photo manipulation was very obvious and it’s strange that no comment in way of explaination has come from the McCann camp. It was a simple case of admitting that some air brushing had taken place. But no, they say nothing. Which could mean they don’t want the issue to be headlines and want it to fade away.
And the shutters. Jemmied. Why would they state such an obvious lie? Or was someone stopped from damaging the shutters that night by the human traffic in the walkway and forgot to or didn’t have the chance to tell anyone that the shutters were still intact? Once the drama has started it was too late to do anything. They could not have been intentionally damaged pre abduction as someone might have noticed the fact and reported it.
The abductor seems to have made the bed after snatching Madeleine. So why did they not ruffle the covers if it was a sham abduction. They forgot? Seems a big oversight. Maybe a maid came in and cleaned up unbeknown to them.
Why wait so long to call the PJ if they knew it was an abduction? Indeed why refuse help to make that call? And why let everybody trapse through the appartment helping muddy the forensics water.
So many other almost surreal happenings, actions and non actions make the McCanns seem guilty as hell, of what, I’m not sure, but IMHO there is a dark secret which hopefully will be uncovered and I think there could be a few other people, VIP’s maybe, with clenched sphincters dreading the whole affair.

VIDEO INFORMATION IS UNRELIABLE AS IT CAN BE EDITED TO MIS-REPRESENT THE ORIGINAL FOOTAGE.
AND WHERE DID YOU READ STATEMENTS FROM THE MCCANNS …..FROM A SOURCE CLOSE TO THE COUPLE OR CM IN THE TABLOIDS.

The next stage lies in reinterviewing the Tapas who helped conceal M. In re-questioning they can bring up inconsistencies that will mean arguido status, possible jail time, plea bargains, and hopefully a confession as to where M is. It’s time to pressure the accomplices.
