The paper says he looks not too unlike the man seen walking from the holiday complex holding a child. You know, that man with no face…
Says Mr Groom: “I think I am being framed. I am the victim of a smear campaign by someone with a grudge against me… During the week two detectives had arrived in town and begun asking friends about my whereabouts. I rang them after they left a message with a friend. I met them in a car park in Praia da Luz… They were two detectives from the Lisbon area, a good cop and a bad cop. One guy was quite small and smoked a cigar. The other guy was really fat, wore girly sunglasses and kept looking around him all the time”
A good cop? We know all about the bad cops (see the Sun). But this good cop..?
They showed him the email. It went:
“Is it a coincidence that this man started working as a gardener in the area and a child went missing?
“Maybe he walked through the car park at the front of the McCanns’ apartment and a little way down the dark alley between the two buildings where he could see and probably hear that the McCanns were there.
“After that maybe he listened at the window of the McCanns’ apartment for any sign that someone such as a babysitter was there. No television…nothing.
“Did this man initially see the McCanns and Madeleine whilst working on an empty apartment/villa and note that the children were left alone? Did he then come back to watch the McCanns when it was dark and not during daylight hours?”
This is front-page news…
Says Groom: “After a few minutes they said they thought it was all b******t. They said if they needed to talk to me again they would, but they thought they were barking up the wrong tree”

miss match - so many questions - so you’re not italian (by birth) then? when did you move there - i am sooooo jealous
. I have only been nursing for a year and am finding it fantastic and thoroughly disheartening at the same time - talk about an emotional roller coaster. But when i was finding it too hard yesterday - disagree with the medics over a patients treatment - i happened across two nurses who i’d not met before (nurse specialists) they were absolutely brilliant and restored my faith (for a while anyway).
What area did you work in? Will you nurse in italy?

Noseycow - My Italian husband just made me laugh. He is doing some DIY and said, ‘I am good at this DUI aren’t I?’ Considering that he rarely drinks alcohol, I was wondering what he meant by stating that he was good at driving under the influence and then realised that it was another hilarious language error and he meant DIY. A few weeks ago, we had a turd/toad word confusion error……
Cuppa and a ciggie sounds lovely.
By the way, was a nurse too until I moved to Italy.

Miss match - i went and looked at the mountain of washing, floors that need cleaning, the bathroom - ugh, and the dishes that need washing, made myself a cup of tea - sent husband to the skip, told the children to tidy their bedrooms and came back here and lit up a ciggy

Now, how is that sock situation? My husband buys identical pairs of socks in bulk so, thankfully, we don’t have the odd sock problem. He picked this up pretty quickly when he realised that my housekeeping standards were positively sluttish compared to the average Italian wife.

Not certain chenier. Val made the original post, do you have a source per chance val?
If a fraction of the people who post here, and elsewhere, are even partially correct in their suppositions, then I suspect Kate’s Dad is a very troubled man indeed, and not just because he is/was already in a poor state of health before Madeleine disappeared. If/when this case is ever resolved I suspect there will be many innocent victims, alongside the gullible chumps and glory hunters, in my opinion.

230 Man on a hill - During the Summer, when I first started posting, I so wanted them to be innocent of involvement simply because it is just so awful, horrible and sad to think that they could have harmed their child. Forget the neglect for a second, but to think that they could have covered up what really happened to Madeleine to save themselves, then the fund, TV pleas, etc, is just horrific. Simple as that really.

Don’t twist what I said. I may have not used the proper wording, but I said that it is possible that Tanner was there (where she said she was) and saw someone crossing the street with something that looked like a child just a few meters from where she was.
I did not say that all are lies, in fact I said that somethings could be true. If you are going to comment/debate my posts, at least be honest and don’t twist what I have said. I think you have been warned about this by other posters in the past? Maybe it is just the way you are.
