Madeleine McCann: The Gardener Questioned, Marcos Correia Cries Rape And Kelsey Lynn Kudla Says
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE: BRITISH ODD-JOB MAN QUIZZED”
A new suspect?
“An anonymous email sent to Portuguese detectives claimed that Daniel Groom was spotted lurking in an alley close to the McCanns’ apartment on the night Madeleine vanished”
The paper says he looks not too unlike the man seen walking from the holiday complex holding a child. You know, that man with no face…
Says Mr Groom: “I think I am being framed. I am the victim of a smear campaign by someone with a grudge against me… During the week two detectives had arrived in town and begun asking friends about my whereabouts. I rang them after they left a message with a friend. I met them in a car park in Praia da Luz… They were two detectives from the Lisbon area, a good cop and a bad cop. One guy was quite small and smoked a cigar. The other guy was really fat, wore girly sunglasses and kept looking around him all the time”
A good cop? We know all about the bad cops (see the Sun). But this good cop..?
They showed him the email. It went:
“Is it a coincidence that this man started working as a gardener in the area and a child went missing?
“Maybe he walked through the car park at the front of the McCanns’ apartment and a little way down the dark alley between the two buildings where he could see and probably hear that the McCanns were there.
“After that maybe he listened at the window of the McCanns’ apartment for any sign that someone such as a babysitter was there. No television…nothing.
“Did this man initially see the McCanns and Madeleine whilst working on an empty apartment/villa and note that the children were left alone? Did he then come back to watch the McCanns when it was dark and not during daylight hours?”
This is front-page news…
Says Groom: “After a few minutes they said they thought it was all b******t. They said if they needed to talk to me again they would, but they thought they were barking up the wrong tree”
A gardening joke to end. Mr Groom may survive his ordeal
“KEEP LOOKING FOR HER, BEGS GRANDAD” – Says Brian Healey: “There has been so much that has been said and written, much of it untrue and hurtful, but so often it seems to me as if the only really important person in all this has been forgotten – and that’s Madeleine”
Indeed. ‘Nuff said…
“Some people don’t seem to want to know about the real Kate”
As we say, ‘nuff said…
THE SUN: “’Paedo dumped Maddie in lake’”
“MADELEINE McCann was raped and killed within 48 hours of being snatched then thrown in a reservoir, a Portuguese lawyer claimed yesterday. Human rights solicitor Marcos Aragao Correia said underworld sources tipped him off on May 6, three days after the tot vanished in Praia da Luz”
May 6?
Correia says he told the police. He then told Metodo 3, the McCanns’ private detectives. Correia says Madeleine’s body was in a reservoir with a small beach and showers for campers, late identified as the Barragem do Arade reservoir
Remerb when X marked the spot - “Vermoedelijke Vindplaats”
“KATE dad: Back off my daughter” – Says Brian Healy: “Some people don’t seem to want to know about the real Kate. She is such a warm and caring person, as well as being intelligent. But you can’t win because people say, ‘He would say that, he’s her father’”
Why would we care? A child is missing, why is it important we like Kate McCann?
“READERS in fury at ’sick stunt’”
“SUN readers bombarded our MySun discussion forums yesterday to vent their disgust following our revelations that an agency is ready to hire out a Maddie lookalike”
“LOOKALIKE mum: Let us help” – “The tearful mum of a tiny lookalike who hopes to play Madeleine McCann in a film insisted last night: ‘We only want to help’. American Kris Pfister, whose three-year-old Kelsey Lynn Kudla bears a stunning resemblance to the missing tot, added: “I feel for Maddie’s family — I am on their team”
Well, no, you’re not. But you are in the papers. Fame beckons? Tonight, Matthew, I’m going to be…
Quote of the week: “Since people started telling her she looked like Maddie, Kelsey’s been following the news. She cries when she hears she’s still missing. When we read there may be a documentary or film on the hunt, she said, ‘Mummy, I could play Madeleine. I look just like her’”
Here’s Kels-seeeey. (Come, on, Kelsey, you’re on… Smile!)
“People say that I look like Maddie. She lost her mummy and daddy. I want to help bring her home”
DAILY STAR: “MADDIE WAS ‘SNATCHED AND MURDERED’”
“Madeleine McCann was abducted, raped, murdered and thrown in a reservoir, a lawyer claimed last night”
It’s Marcos Correia again. Who told him? He will not say. But the paper notes: “He spent three weeks at the reservoir with investigators from the McCanns’ Metodo 3 agency. Last night he called on the police to search it extensively”
They have done. You can read about it here
Are these underworld figures known to Antonio Toscano?
DAILY MAIL: “Madeleine was ‘raped, murdered - and then dumped in reservoir’”
“Underworld criminals contacted a human rights lawyer on May 6, three days after the girl vanished, with details of her alleged abduction and murder, he said. But when Marcos Aragao Correia tried to tell police, he was ignored, he added”
Or not. The reservoir was searched
“PORTUGUESE police ‘want to keep Madeleine file secret for another three months’”
Says Clarence Mitchell the couple’s spokesman: “We are disappointed, but not surprised given that the police are still investigating.
“We had expected this request, however our lawyers will be examining it and once again we would urge the police to come over and interview who they want to.
“DEATH threats for woman hiring out Madeleine lookalikes” - Shona Juliet-Adams, owner of Juliet Adams Modelling and Talent Casting Agency, says: “”I have had threatening phone calls and death threats. I am not speaking to anybody until I have spoken to the police about my security - I received death threats”
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “McCanns suffer ‘almost inhumane’ police delay”
Kate and Gerry McCann could remain official suspects in their daughter’s disappearance for “several more months”
Clarence Mitchell says: “This is extremely disappointing. We will continue to co-operate with the Portuguese police, of course. However, the delay in resolving the case and eliminating Gerry and Kate is now becoming almost inhumane”
“BAD taste jokes need time to be funny” - An interactive humour survey at the Science Museum’s Dana centre in central London. Only seven per cent of the audience felt that a joke about Bhutto’s death was funny or amusing and only 31 per cent felt humour involving the McCanns was appropriate”
A Joke: “Dr Harold Shipman’s last meal was a curry. He said he enjoyed it but he could have murdered a nan”
FOX NEWS (USA): “Report: Agency Worker Receives Death Threats Over Madeleine McCann Look-Alikes”
“Shona Juliet-Adams, 41, whose agency offers the look-alikes for about $1,174 an hour, said she has been receiving ‘threatening phone calls and death threats’”

Sounds like you were quoted in Daily express article
Meanwhile, a correspondent named Peter mused: “Am I the only one fed up with listening to people involved with the Madeleine McCann case, like Clarence Mitchell, and their ‘holier than thou’ attitude? To keep saying that her parents had nothing to do with it is complete nonsense. Had the McCanns been an ordinary couple from a poor council estate and not been professional people, the two remaining children would have been removed from them by social services.”

Yeah, I saw that. Problem is, I’ve never used the “council house” line.

I know a lot of you Anorakers don’t believe in this thing but personally I think there might be something in it.
Top brass American psychics( including Carla Baron) are coming to PDL.
They lave a lot of credibility, even with the police, they take journalists, equipent, and a lot of spending money with them
One of the main theories on psychics sites is that Madeleine is dead, in water involving a dam and aquaduct.
Now suddenly the story about Madeleine being raped and thrown in the lake of Barragem da Bravura shows up via Retardo3.
I think Their Holy Excellencies are weaseling themselves out because some major clues are about to be found.
Skepticism will always exist. It takes more courage to believe.
Lloyd Israel reported his son, Trevor Israel, missing on Aug. 12, 2003. Until March 10, he held onto the hope that he would see him again.
That hope was fueled by a father’s love for his child — and by five psychics who offered the idea that Trevor was alive and well and working someplace down south.
Only one woman told him what he already knew in his heart to be true: Trevor had committed suicide.
Around the time of Trevor’s disappearance, search teams looked in fields and wooded areas near the pull-off in a cornfield located on County Road 600 West, south of Boggstown Road, where his abandoned blue 1992 Saturn was found.
Even with the help of special search dogs from the State Emergency Management Association, they didn’t find anything. The search was called off due to lack of information and impending bad weather.
In early September, Lloyd Israel called renowned psychic Carla Baron in Los Angeles for help. Baron has been asked to assist in providing closure in many unfortunate events, ranging from missing persons to arson.
“It’s not something that you ask to do; it’s just something I’m able to do,” she said. “It’s not like you choose to do this.”
Baron, a former concert pianist and opera singer, is no crystal-ball gazer.
She claims to be clairaudient, meaning she can perceive sounds or words from sources broadcasting from a spiritual or ethereal realm.
During a taped telephone reading dated Sept. 7, she can be heard talking to someone she says is Trevor Israel.
He walked her through the events as they had taken place, she said — from his overwhelming feelings of anxiety, inadequacy and hopelessness, to driving to the field near Boggstown and rushing into the corn, the leaves scratching his sleeves as he ran past.
“Trevor felt overwhelmed with failure, with life. He was consumed by a feeling of inadequacy. He had no real relationships, no friends, to fall back on,” she said.
He chose the serene cornfield near Boggstown as a place where he could end his life in peace and solitude.
“It’s a private thing when you commit suicide. It’s between you and God. For the most part, it’s a very private experience,” Baron said.
Trevor took the handgun — a .357 Magnum — in his right hand, pointed it at his head and ended his life at age 25.
Yet, it was very difficult for Trevor to admit there was a suicide, Baron said.
“Souls of those who have taken their own lives have a difficult recovery period. Suicides have a hard time accepting what they’ve done to themselves. The recovery is a very long time in coming,” she added.
Baron depicted the details of the area where the body would later be found — up a slight incline in a cornfield, with a wire fence and a telephone pole nearby.
During the reading, she talks to Trevor about the search dogs — “and he’s wondering why you missed him,” she tells Lloyd.
“He says, ‘My dad will find me’,” she adds.
Lloyd told investigators what Baron had said, and urged them to look again. They didn’t find Trevor during that search, either.
“At the time, I was kind of glad they didn’t find him,” he said.
He consulted five other psychics. They all separately told him the same thing: that Trevor had gone off with someone, was working down south, and was doing fine. They said he would contact his father around Christmastime.
So Israel sat by the phone, and heartbreakingly checked and rechecked the mail, but he never heard anything.
“I wanted to believe what the others were saying,” Israel said. “I was hoping that he would contact me.”
But when a body is meant to be found, it will be, Baron said. Investigators resumed their search last week and found human remains about a half-mile up the road on County Road 600 West — exactly as Baron had described it for Israel.
It doesn’t always work out that way.
“This isn’t an exact science. Psychics don’t solve cases. They assist in providing the unknown, the missing piece of the puzzle,” she said. “I read what you already know, on another level — you just can’t unlock it.”
Israel went to the site for the first time on Sunday. A neon-orange stake marks the spot where the body was found, not far from where Trevor had parked his car.
Although Israel is unable to make the arrangements until the body has been identified and released, the Israel family is already planning a simple cremation and a private ceremony. Israel has purchased the urn; his son’s ashes will be placed in a vault at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
“She was the only one who was really accurate,” he said, of Baron. “I’m afraid it is him. I was hoping he just left, like the other ones said.”
Believing Baron — that she did, in fact, communicate on some level with Trevor — has taken a great deal of effort for a former skeptic like Lloyd.
“You will always have skeptics,” Baron said. “But it’s much harder to believe. It takes a lot more courage to believe.”
It has been even more difficult for Israel to come to terms with this fact: Believing in Baron’s abilities means the end of hope for his son.
“I just take it one day at a time. As time goes by, it might get easier,” he said.

Jane, do you still have saved the case you put on the other site last night from Australia?
…………………….
You can find it here on Wikipedia, Cheryl.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azaria_Chamberlain_disappearance
I was struck by the number of similarities to this case:
Reply : Some very very vague similarities in my opinion.
Child disappears from holiday tent.
(Parents were very close by as opposed to the McCanns back garden dinner 150m away)
Mother claimed her child had been abducted
(mother actually saw abductor)
On discovery, mother’s odd comment - something like, the dingos have taken my baby (?) taken as evidence of a cover up of parental murder
(mother actually saw abductor. Kates utterings where based on what?)
Police errors - e.g. misinterpretation of forensic evidence in car/ on baby’s clothes
(McCann dna evidence not disproved yet).
Police failed to secure crime scene, mishandled evidence - baby’s blood stained clothes in dingo lair
(McCanns failed to report crime and trashed the crime scene themselves)
Police relied on unreliable forensic procedures
(PJ let the Bristish handle the DNA testing so first similarity I suppose)
Allegation body was hidden in large camera case.
(apart from Mr Corner’s there seemed very few cameras on holiday with the McCanns)
Parents’ religious beliefs used as evidence against them
(Evidence used as religeous beliefs for the McCanns).
Disappearance received massive and unprecedented publicity
(Azarias spawned by dingo curious Australian media. The media by and large have been disinterested in the McCanns and the publicity has been self generated).
Media frenzy suggested the mother had murdered the child
(No Madeliene media frenzy accusing Kate, public opinion was putting the subject forward though).
Media turned public opinion against the parents
(more like public opinion turned the media in the Madeleine case.)
I believe there was also misuse/abuse of statistical ‘evidence
(yes the McCanns have done this)
Mother accused of lack of emotional anxiety
(Ok Similarity no.2, Lindy was seemingly cold too).
Mother accused of failing to search for baby
(No.3 if the accusation was proven. We know Kate did not search at all!).
Mother accused of dressing the baby in odd colour - black
(Pink , black, reminds me of a joke. I’m not sure pink is a odd colour for a little girl. Black is a bit weird though).
Evidence of several witnesses in support of mother’s claim discounted,
(Similarity no.4)
Well four similarities. Two cases, totally different really.
And why the comparison?
The Chamberlains in no way put up such a circus as have the McCanns. Australia at the time was and is indeed now, in parts, a deeply racially split society and many natives are still treated worse than you could imagine. There has also been a history of neglect and substantial corruption in the official circles. Really high up too. Queensland, not so many years ago, was looked upon as a police state. There were thoughts that the Azaria case was hijacked by some group to get a guilty verdict to help cover over rascist acts and to appease the aboriginal people among others by convicting a god fearing white lady.

And if it really is such a simple solution, why such a complicated and humungus (spelling!) defence?
I know people can argue that the media took on a life of its own. And that they need to try and control the media monster but that doesn’t explain the Metodo3’s, the backers - why would a businessman place his bets so easily?
Trying ot keep it simple but not working at the mo.
——————————————-
Metodo 3 is easy; if you pick a firm with no experience in the field there is less chance of them picking up stuff you don’t want them to know. And, of course, Metodo 3 claims to have been paying bribes to the Moroccan mafia, who do not, as far as I am aware, provide receipts.
And the businessmen are not too tricky. At the outset the McCanns put a lot of disinformation out; most people started backing off when that fact became apparent. There are only 3 people left; Branson, Kennedy and bizarre guy who lives in Monaco and whinges that Gordon Brown refused a meeting with the fragrant duo.
Kennedy has denied the reports that he was paying Metodo 3, thus dropping Mcvey in it, and Branson has kept his mouth firmly shut on the topic for some months now.
I know it’s nice to think that businessmen have amazing insights, but the reality is that most frauds are committed on business people…

IF MM died in the presence of the twins, they will remember it. This memory will be their two-year-old-interpretation of what happened to her and of the aftermath with their parents. Altho’ it might be repressed, or denied and, almost certainly, will be overshadowed and confused by the version of events that they are told or read about long in the future, it will remain with them in some shape or form.
And, on a related note, I do wonder why they haven’t been questioned by someone who is trained to talk to young children who have experienecd trauma. The assumption is that they were sleeping - possibly sedated - when their sister was ‘abducted’ but, if this assumption is untrue, they would be valuable witnesses, either to the events of previous nights or to the events of the daytime of 3 May. The son of Rachel Nickell was questioned by police, as many other children in similar situations have been. An appropriately trained and skilled questioner can elicit much detail, even from a two year old.

And Kate McCann was wanting a career in child safety/protection……
I really think the pair of them, (and Clarence), have completely lost touch with reality, on a level with Britney Spears, to be honest.
I read The Express article and comments. Thank goodness people/journos are asking the questions that have, for some strange reason, been taboo for the last eight months.
The McCanns’ arrogance and complete lack of self realisation is truly astounding.
————————————————-
Yes; even the Vanity Fair article which is superficially a glossy sympathetic take on Gerry and his heart-broken wife has a number of below the belt digs which are not helping them to present a better picture of themselves.
Robert Murat had the good sense to keep his mouth shut to Vanity Fair; the wholly off the record chat with the journalist certainly did not do him any harm.
The result is that the comments about the McCann propaganda campaign can’t be as easily dismissed as Clarrie and his clients would like….
