Madeleine McCann: Kate McCann’s Message And McCann Posters For Mari Cortes Luz
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS: “I feel your pain – Kate’s note to kidnap parents”
Kate McCann has delivered a “heartfelt message of support” to the parents of missing girl Mari Luz Cortes
Writes Kate, a “GP”: “I feel your pain, as parents we know what you’re going through…I am praying that Mari Luz is found quickly, safe and well”
Not that it’s all about the McCanns, a Maddy 2. Although: Says Juan Jose Cortes, Mari’s father: “Only now I understand what Madeleine McCann’s parents are suffering”
Neither Mr Cortes nor his wife are named suspects in their child’s disappearance
The McCanns have offered to equip posters of Madeleine with a shot of Mari – 12,000 of them are to be put up in Spain, the Balearic and Canary Islands
Mr Cortes says thank you but “We don’t feels strong enough to make a decision”
Says Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns’ spokesman: “The posters could lead to vital clues in both cases. Mari Luz’s face would sit along Madeleine’s… We just want to help”
Help who?
DAILY STAR: “’I KNOW THE PAIN YOU ARE FEELING’”
“Madeleine McCann’s mum has told the parents of a child feared snatched by the same abductor: ‘I feel your pain.’ GP Kate, 39, sent her words of comfort to the parents of five-year-old Mari Luz Cortes when the McCanns’ private detectives met them to investigate links between the two cases”
How did the papers come to know of this message, and how can knowing help either child?
“POLICE reject claims of link” – Portuguese police do not “believe” there is a link between Mari and Madeleine
Kate McCann is a “GP”
DAILY MAIL: “McCanns comfort lost girl’s parents”
Kate McCann has sent an “emotional message” to the parents of Mari Luz Cortes
THE McCanns will have to wait until September this year to discover why they were made suspects
THE MIRROR: “KATE’S PRAYER OF HOPE”
“I FEEL YOUR PAIN – Kate’s message to parents of missing Spanish girl Mari”
Reports are that police are seeking a “local sex pest” in Huelva
“70,000..the number of kids under 16 that go missing in the UK every year. Only 10 per cent vanish for more than five days”
Any more room on those posters? How are they remembered?
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “McCanns tell lost girl’s parents: We feel for you”
Says a friend of Mari’s parents, Irene a
nd Juan Jose Cortes: “They have been touched by the fact someone who is going through her own turmoil can find the strength to think of their moment of need”

Brandon - Welcome back. Did you see my question before?
HHS - I’d agree with you. I don’t think the McCs have anything to fear from the GMC. I’d go even further, I don’t think they have to worry about the ‘neglect’ issue either. They will either be charged with manslaughter or something abour perjury/ impeding an enqiry or something. I don’t think they will ever be charged with neglect.

You do have a point.
Harold Shipman wasn’t Struck Off, by the GMC, until a week after he had
been found Guilty.
Mind you ….that particular case does reflect very badly on the slowness to
act by the GMC.

Has Tony or Cherie blair said anything about it?

Can you point to anybody having had their license to practise medicine suspended in the UK b/c they have been arrested (and not charged), or for that matter even if they have been charged?
The GMC is bound by the rules of natural justice in its proceedings:
1 -it cannot suspend a Doc without giving the Doc a right to be heard;
2 in any hearing it would need to give affect to the presumption of innocence and hence it could not simply assume guilt because a Doc has been arrested or even charged.
3, it would be an abuse of process for a GMC tribunal to enquire into matters that were the subject of unresolved criminal proceedings.
Having some not inconsiderable experience in hearings before professional regulatory bodies (but not, to date, the GMC), I can tell you that the GMC route is a non-starter.

In Scotland if you marry into another faith it’s quite easy to get dispensation from the Bishop (I suppose Scotland being a protestant/secular country they’ve got no choice) - but you still have to get dispensation.

I think that the PJ’s “real picture” would be much more “real” a “picture” than
yours.

Then that particular Catholic Church was breaking the rules.
To take Communion you have to be in full communion with the Catholic Church that means you must be baptised a Christian (of any denomination) and confirmed into the Catholic faith.
There isn’t any other way.

That’s the Anglican priest she’s taking Communion from.
That’s why it suddenly struck me as odd.

As I understand it, being an arguido is similar to being questioned under caution in the UK.
The McCanns have done nothing wrong in the eyes of the law so I assume no steps can be taken against them in their employment…. but as someone else said… he could be at home doing nothing on full pay from the NHS which we indirectly pay!
Harry HS. are you really going to PDL? Last time I was there it was interesting to talk to the ex-pats who live there as well as the locals and get the real picture. Especially the ones who have apartments / villas in and around the Ocean Club.
Great fun as Ade would say! But I keep my silence now since all the cr*p with TB insisting I was a family member in disguise! Boring and time consuming arguments and I’m back working next week after my recuperation so I’ll be gone again………..
January 18th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
Karen I went to a friends catholic wedding service and all faiths were invited to take communion.

Before he was Catholic? That isn’t allowed. He could have got a blessing though. If he did take communion some starstruck Priest was breaking the rules.
January 18th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
plus the priest over here has to be a relly
mine wouldnt let me give my eggs to my sister
January 18th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
Karen - how do you know that it was an anglican mass? it may have been one of those ‘joint’ services.
The question should be - why did she get a picture taken of her taking communion?
January 18th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
Kate
indeed there was a big hooha when tony blair took catholic communion at his daughters school mass
January 18th, 2008 at 4:08 pm
