Madeleine McCann: Kate McCann’s Message And McCann Posters For Mari Cortes Luz
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS: “I feel your pain – Kate’s note to kidnap parents”
Kate McCann has delivered a “heartfelt message of support” to the parents of missing girl Mari Luz Cortes
Writes Kate, a “GP”: “I feel your pain, as parents we know what you’re going through…I am praying that Mari Luz is found quickly, safe and well”
Not that it’s all about the McCanns, a Maddy 2. Although: Says Juan Jose Cortes, Mari’s father: “Only now I understand what Madeleine McCann’s parents are suffering”
Neither Mr Cortes nor his wife are named suspects in their child’s disappearance
The McCanns have offered to equip posters of Madeleine with a shot of Mari – 12,000 of them are to be put up in Spain, the Balearic and Canary Islands
Mr Cortes says thank you but “We don’t feels strong enough to make a decision”
Says Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns’ spokesman: “The posters could lead to vital clues in both cases. Mari Luz’s face would sit along Madeleine’s… We just want to help”
Help who?
DAILY STAR: “’I KNOW THE PAIN YOU ARE FEELING’”
“Madeleine McCann’s mum has told the parents of a child feared snatched by the same abductor: ‘I feel your pain.’ GP Kate, 39, sent her words of comfort to the parents of five-year-old Mari Luz Cortes when the McCanns’ private detectives met them to investigate links between the two cases”
How did the papers come to know of this message, and how can knowing help either child?
“POLICE reject claims of link” – Portuguese police do not “believe” there is a link between Mari and Madeleine
Kate McCann is a “GP”
DAILY MAIL: “McCanns comfort lost girl’s parents”
Kate McCann has sent an “emotional message” to the parents of Mari Luz Cortes
THE McCanns will have to wait until September this year to discover why they were made suspects
THE MIRROR: “KATE’S PRAYER OF HOPE”
“I FEEL YOUR PAIN – Kate’s message to parents of missing Spanish girl Mari”
Reports are that police are seeking a “local sex pest” in Huelva
“70,000..the number of kids under 16 that go missing in the UK every year. Only 10 per cent vanish for more than five days”
Any more room on those posters? How are they remembered?
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “McCanns tell lost girl’s parents: We feel for you”
Says a friend of Mari’s parents, Irene a
nd Juan Jose Cortes: “They have been touched by the fact someone who is going through her own turmoil can find the strength to think of their moment of need”

Regarding liver problems and multi-organ failure, you would probably be under the care of a consultant in general medicine, that is, a consultant general physician. But some general physicians specialise in liver complaints (hepatology) and look after people with chronic (and acute) hepatitis, liver cirrhosis and liver transplant patients (although of course the actual transplant is undertaken by a surgeon who specialises in this particular field). Multi-organ failure results from various conditions so the patient would probably be under the care of a consultant who specialises in the primary (or original) illness. Then, as the condition developed, other appropriate consultants would be brought in to help. For example, a kidney specialist (nephrologist) could help - he/she would usually be a general physician specialising in nephrology. For example, the liver specialist, Dr Roger Williams, who treated George Best, is a gastroenterologist/general physician but he is a specialist in liver diseases - he did not carry out the transplant of course, but was in charge of all the medical, rather than the surgical, care. He will primarily treat liver diseases but will also see people with, say, stomach ailments as well (though I’m not sure if he still practises, as he would be quite old now).

catkidd,
seriously now, got one for you: i was going over some news articles from Sol (15 September paper edition, it’s said) which stated “The Policia Judiciaria (PJ) will soon make the reconstitution of the events that took place on the night that Madeleine McCann disappeared. It’s an essential diligence in order to clarify the various contradictions that the group of nine let pass right in their first statements. If Maddie was in fact murdered, the McCanns could not have hidden the cadaver alone – which means they had to have the help from a third party.”
do you have any thoughts on the last sentence in particular?

Well, I’m no Politico, (thank Heavens), nor a Journo…but I did write
to Mr B asking him very much the same question(s). The fact that he
still hasn’t had the goodness to reply is possibly down to his lack of good
correspondence manners.
I think I gain some anti-smelly points for that, at the very least.

People in power squirm and wriggle their way out of anything. I thought it interesting that Gordon Brown and Branson were on the plane off to someplace the other day when that 777 crashed at Heathrow. Wonder if they were discussing the McCann case on board their plane?

Don’t we all!
Occasionally there’s been a few “fortune teller” posters but they’ve turned out to be total charlatans.
I’m very surprised that people on the fringes who aren’t suspects or witnesses aren’t coming forward with info on the Internet. All I can think is that the police have told them to keep quiet or else they’d be made arguidos. Even then, I can’t think that would make much difference. Bridget O’Donnell and the 2 sisters spoke out just before Christmas. Surely other holidaymakers there would be itching to get their stories out and what better place than the Internet.
