Madeleine McCann: Kate McCann’s Message And McCann Posters For Mari Cortes Luz
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS: “I feel your pain – Kate’s note to kidnap parents”
Kate McCann has delivered a “heartfelt message of support” to the parents of missing girl Mari Luz Cortes
Writes Kate, a “GP”: “I feel your pain, as parents we know what you’re going through…I am praying that Mari Luz is found quickly, safe and well”
Not that it’s all about the McCanns, a Maddy 2. Although: Says Juan Jose Cortes, Mari’s father: “Only now I understand what Madeleine McCann’s parents are suffering”
Neither Mr Cortes nor his wife are named suspects in their child’s disappearance
The McCanns have offered to equip posters of Madeleine with a shot of Mari – 12,000 of them are to be put up in Spain, the Balearic and Canary Islands
Mr Cortes says thank you but “We don’t feels strong enough to make a decision”
Says Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns’ spokesman: “The posters could lead to vital clues in both cases. Mari Luz’s face would sit along Madeleine’s… We just want to help”
Help who?
DAILY STAR: “’I KNOW THE PAIN YOU ARE FEELING’”
“Madeleine McCann’s mum has told the parents of a child feared snatched by the same abductor: ‘I feel your pain.’ GP Kate, 39, sent her words of comfort to the parents of five-year-old Mari Luz Cortes when the McCanns’ private detectives met them to investigate links between the two cases”
How did the papers come to know of this message, and how can knowing help either child?
“POLICE reject claims of link” – Portuguese police do not “believe” there is a link between Mari and Madeleine
Kate McCann is a “GP”
DAILY MAIL: “McCanns comfort lost girl’s parents”
Kate McCann has sent an “emotional message” to the parents of Mari Luz Cortes
THE McCanns will have to wait until September this year to discover why they were made suspects
THE MIRROR: “KATE’S PRAYER OF HOPE”
“I FEEL YOUR PAIN – Kate’s message to parents of missing Spanish girl Mari”
Reports are that police are seeking a “local sex pest” in Huelva
“70,000..the number of kids under 16 that go missing in the UK every year. Only 10 per cent vanish for more than five days”
Any more room on those posters? How are they remembered?
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “McCanns tell lost girl’s parents: We feel for you”
Says a friend of Mari’s parents, Irene a
nd Juan Jose Cortes: “They have been touched by the fact someone who is going through her own turmoil can find the strength to think of their moment of need”

“Peter: Another pointless analogy”
You can surely substantiate your opinion.

I did, and please stop selectively editing my posts.
The plain simple fact is there is no similarity between a parent or carer taking a deliberate decision to leave three children under the age of four alone in an apartment, and deciding to go about your normal day to day business, crossing road, taking busses, going on holidays etc.
If people took the view of risk that you and others appear to propose then they likely as not wouldn’t ever dare venture from their beds. So far as I know that’s a treatable illness/condition. Stupidity, and even repeated stupidity, on the part of a parent or carer shows a callous lack of care, in my opinion.

Logic - well done you - more should do it IMO
Matt - you need to get rachel to do some ironing - a friends dvd usually does the trick (or so my ironing friends tell me - would actually send me to sleep ..)

It isn’t. Travelling by public transport has to be assumed to be as much a risk as walking down the street. It’s less of a risk statistically than most self-propelled forms of transport so if it’s less than you would risk anyway, you can’t really argue it being an additional risk. Driving your own car is far more risky than flying a commercial airline for a 2 hour trip.
Risk is when you do things that are outside the norm and involve a degree or possibility of danger. There’s no more danger flying in a plane than they’d encounter by staying at Rothley.
Leaving the kids alone IS an increased risk because they are not normally left alone while both parents went down the street to the pub….or one would think this is the case, giving them the benefit of doubt.

keeping to topic on these threads is impossible, we cover everything from dogcare to sausages to dating to wine to ironing but we get there in the end

Saul, sir, you’re back again and gone again? How unfortunate. We wanted to greet you and hope you had a good time while away. And, of course, ask you a favour: I’ve been extremely occupied these days … could you recap for us the essentials of the past days’ posts as they seem to concentrate on domestic problems and values, but nothing really happening on the level of sleuthing

Do you guys have the ranking module for Wordpress? I put one on my forum and designated posters as “lurkers” - less than 5 posts…”in for questioning” - up to 100 posts and beyond that they’re “arguidos”.

Ferdi: “But nobody would ever say that parents who travel with their children endanger them in an unacceptable manner. How comes?”
Stevo: “Absolute nonsense! Travelling by public transport is a common, normal, and everyday occurrence. This is what I meant by “normal” and using public transport is about as normal as you can get. This is a good example of how not to do an analogy.”
You haven’t answered my question. Of course it is deemed “normal”, and therefore accepted. But in terms of risk calculation, it’s at least as irresponsible as the McC baby listening.

7 kids were left in McCann flat
Wednesday, October 10, 2007
SIX other kids were with Maddie on the night she disappeared, police in Portugal claim
More…
**********************
Any one remember that one…? no one woke up!
++++++++++++++
Old rumour, never confirmed….
What I found interesting about the rumour at the time was that seven children and not the eight that ought to have been in the overall group was mentioned. Where was the missing one?
As I say though, this rumour has never been confirmed.
******************
8th child was probably the 7 month old baby of the Paynes - they had the baby monitor with them and may be left their baby in their own room.
+++++++++++++++++
Possibly, but we don’t know that either, nor indeed whether the original rumour that there were seven children in that room was true.
If the rumour is true, it might be:
Seven children including Madeleine
Seven children not including Madeleine
What I find potentially far more interesting is how/why the PJ might know one of the above scenarios to be true? If it’s the latter, that there were seven children NOT including Madeleine, does this mean that they also know where Madeleine was at that time? i.e. They’ve allowed the alleged “fact” that there were seven children in that apartment to “leak”, but not whether or not they know that one of them wasn’t Madeleine, nor that they might also know where she was, potentially?

I think the most amazing thing for me was the short stopping distance. Those 777’s are massive machines. I guess the grass slowed it up pretty good but it’s still impressive to stop so short. The pucker factor must have been amazing on the flight deck.

Lovely! I’ll be over sometime when it gets warmer. I sometimes fly into Genoa and drive west or use Nice or Nimes if I’m staying close to Marseilles. You must be close to St Paul…another place I like to frequent?
“In the United States, you often see children with their parents in restaurants at any time. They eat with their fingers and make a real mess with their food, but the managers don’t seem upset!”
Don’t get me started on the American eating habits. I’ve seen better in some zoos…and I’m not kidding. No disrespect to all Americans but some are worse than animals! I still can’t fathom the one-handed fork and finger eating style of Americans.
Yes, kids are drawn to water and you’re right about the Ocean Club pool and its proximity to the apartment. Not giving the McCanns credit but I do think the pool issue there was not as bad as first thought. From what we’ve been able to glean from the Channel 4 documentary, you can’t walk into the Ocean Club pool/Tapas area without going through a reception anyway. I can’t see how anyone could wander by the pool by accident.

Of course I am in no position to advise. However, why have you refused a liver transplant if offered one? The history of deep vein thromboses and pulmonary emboli could well indicate a liver cause, as the liver is involved with clotting.

Isn’t a bit sarcastic, the feeling that we have all we need right in front of our eyes.and can’t see it.
There are people that have been able to touch the truth.
But we ruther beleive ,the junk thrown to our eyes
What,do you expect from the P.J. ?
They really can’t do more they have done
This is like O.J. Simpson ,but without a trial
All of this IMHO

789 - logic - as a medic you know that medicine is as much art as science - and although there is much spoken about holistic treatment, in reality it very rarely happens in health service.
Sometimes alternative therapies give the patient the space and support needed to ‘listen to their bodies’, which can only aid any conventional treatments they are receiving IMO, and allegedly of course!!

Edit..
I’m very surprised that people on the fringes who aren’t suspects or witnesses aren’t coming forward with info on the Internet. All I can think is that the police have told them to keep quiet or else they’d be made arguidos. Even then, I can’t think that would make much difference. Bridget O’Donnell and the 2 sisters spoke out just before Christmas. Surely other holidaymakers there would be itching to get their stories out and what better place than the Internet.
+++++++++++++
A totally unsubstantiated thought… It may be that you are correct in your assessment. However, with the passage of time and with it the more bizarre this case seems to have become, might it be possible that some of what these “witnesses” to events leading up to Madeleine disappearance have access to might be considered positively libellous/slanderous if made public prior to any charges being brought? Also, I have a suspicion that the financial value of some information would be considerably more if the risk of law suits were removed?
As many have remarked, it is in itself unusual, possibly even suspicious, that there are no kiss and tell stories being published. It is almost like these people did not exist prior to May 3rd last year.
