The paper says the witness, Gail Cooper, was staying with her family 600 yards from the McCann’s apartment in Praia da Luz.
She told the police of a “creepy man” in the area. A picture of the man has been produced
Gary Thompson, an associate editor at the News of the World, tells the BBC the picture was being taken seriously. Well, it on the front page. “The picture has been passed to Interpol, police in Portugal and also in Leicestershire, so the important thing is - who is he? Where is he now?” he asks.
“We’ll be urging all our readers in the morning to get in touch with the authorities if they’ve got any information at all about this man”
Is he the man who abducted Madeleine McCann? Or was Mrs Cooper listening to The Beatles at the time?

The man is “thought to be aged between 38 and 45. He has sallow skin, lank dark hair, large teeth and a distinctive droopy moustache. The suspect, who is said to have spoken in broken English, knocked on the door of Mrs [Sarah] Cooper’s apartment claiming to be collecting for charity. Mrs Cooper says: ‘He made my blood run cold - he gave me the creeps. My judgment is that this man was very suspicious and could have been the kidnapper’”

The Mirror is on the case. It got Amaral. It got “creepy” Robert Murat. But now Amaral is back. Says the paper: “The move will be a massive blow to parents Kate and Gerry.” It will be “heartbreaking for 39-year-old doctors Kate and Gerry”. Why? Was Amaral the casue of their problem?
DAILY STAR: “SPANISH COPS SHOW UP MADDIE FLAWS”
The Spanish police are looking for Mari Luis Cortes. Says the Star: “Friends of Kate and Gerry McCann say missing Madeleine might have been found by now – if Spanish police had been involved”
Maris Luis Cortes has yet to be found
Says a friend of McCanns of the Portuguese police: “They acted like real amateurs, so it’s no wonder they don’t seem to be getting anywhere finding Madeleine”
The Portuguese police also named the McCanns as suspects
SUNDAY EXPRESS front page: “McCANNS SPLIT BY AGONY OF MADDY”

One of the stylists says: “She was almost in tears as she watched them and my heart went out to her.”

Afternoon all
On BBC news early this morning a Journalist/Editor was reviewing the Daily Newspapers.
His comment on the NOTW article was “After eight months, WHY NOW”?
On the DE Article about Kate”s depression etc, he said he could not comment but added that
the McCanns wanted to keep Madeleine in the spotlight and had a PR for that purpose. He also
said the DE was relentless in reporting anything to do with the case, whereas his Paper, the
Daily Telegraph only reported NEWS.
As an aside, didn”t the McCanns disappear for five days when the PJ were in the U.K.? and
didn”t they spend Christmas in Skipton with Kate”s cousin. Hardly the behaviour of a
recluse IMO

My 1st post today, sorry if it’s already been discussed———————— so our little egghead has a face now, wish we could all draw a face and send it to the newspapers, they wouldn’t be able to print them all but they’d probably be a lot more interesing and at least we’d stick to the egg form.
Glad to see Detective Amaral is still involved with the case, he knows exactly what happened. So he had a few drinks at lunch time while working on the case, who can blame him——–If I had to deal with the mcs I’d probably had to have started as soon as I woke up, mouthwash with a Jim Bean, vodka in my morning OJ, you got the picture, but that’s just me.

I see your point. But the article emphasizing the affinity between Kate McCann and Jill Renwick seemed to have the intention of highlighting Kate’s desire to have children, and to show a bond of feeling between Kate and Jill.
Of course, some people may go on about cloning, but the crux of the matter is that Jill Renwick often holidayed with the McCanns, and was doing so at the time Madeleine’s disappearance was reported. (according to Reuters) Even more telling is that Jill’s presence was downplayed and eliminated from later news articles.

I read some posts a while ago noting the strangesness of there not being any “kiss and tell” stories going around, pertaining to the McCanns.
I thought that over a few days, and have to agree. After all, this is “hot lips Healy” Kate McCann, and supposedly this is a group of “swingers”.
Could it be that kissing these people puts one under a spell, so that the mouth never opens again for anyone else?

REPLY: Scientologists, or Jehovah’s Witnesses? A little bizarre this Jill Renwick and Kate McCann, both married to doctors, both cannot have children, both use IVF, and both give birth to twins. Maybe Tony Bennett will tell us that all of their birthdays are the same.
