Gary Thompson, an associate editor at the News of the World, tells the BBC the picture was being taken seriously. Well, it on the front page. “The picture has been passed to Interpol, police in Portugal and also in Leicestershire, so the important thing is - who is he? Where is he now?” he asks.
“We’ll be urging all our readers in the morning to get in touch with the authorities if they’ve got any information at all about this man”
Is he the man who abducted Madeleine McCann? Or was Mrs Cooper listening to The Beatles at the time?

The man is “thought to be aged between 38 and 45. He has sallow skin, lank dark hair, large teeth and a distinctive droopy moustache. The suspect, who is said to have spoken in broken English, knocked on the door of Mrs [Sarah] Cooper’s apartment claiming to be collecting for charity. Mrs Cooper says: ‘He made my blood run cold - he gave me the creeps. My judgment is that this man was very suspicious and could have been the kidnapper’”

As has been discussed on numerous occasions, guilty people do walk “free” from courts. A court of law works on the presumption of innocent until proven guilty. Public opinion does not and never has.
Do a little research and you’ll find plenty of cases where the police are not looking for any one else in relation to their enquiries into a case. This is police speak for “we know who the guilty party/ies is/are, we just can’t prove it. This is the type of “innocent until proven guilty” you are alluding to.
The sainted ones and their band of sickly cohorts that you choose, for whatever reason, to support know rather more about the events leading up to and following Madeleine’s disappearance than has yet come to light, in my opinion.
I don’t need to propose crackpot theories in order to justify my suspicions that they are in some way complicit in Madeleine’s disappearance. Team McCann regularly publishes their own increasingly crackpot and ludicrous theories in the increasingly vain hope that the authorities and people with an ounce of grey matter won’t look in the most obvious place for answers, Madeleine’s parents, their friends and possibly family.
You on the other hand have no interest in uncovering the truth about Madeleine’s fate.

I try to be positive when I read something about any “new” information that comes along regarding Maddy. I pray they find her but I believe this is “too little, too late”. I agree with the others that this fellow could have cleaned himself up by now not to look so scruffy.

Apparently Clarence Mitchell has now said that Madeleine was seen on the beach on may 3rd, yawwwwwwnnnnn.
But wait a second this man is meant to be looking after this couple and yet he is swinging them into the quicksand.
Once again who is Clarence really working for or should I say to whom does his allegiance lie?

Matilda
Matilda told such Dreadful Lies,
It made one Gasp and Stretch one’s Eyes;
Her Aunt, who, from her Earliest Youth,
Had kept a Strict Regard for Truth,
Attempted to Believe Matilda:
The effort very nearly killed her,
And would have done so, had not She
Discovered this Infirmity.
For once, towards the Close of Day,
Matilda, growing tired of play,
And finding she was left alone,
Went tiptoe to the Telephone
And summoned the Immediate Aid
Of London’s Noble Fire-Brigade.
Within an hour the Gallant Band
Were pouring in on every hand,
From Putney, Hackney Downs, and Bow.
With Courage high and Hearts a-glow,
They galloped, roaring through the Town,
“Matilda’s House is Burning Down!”
Inspired by British Cheers and Loud
Proceeding from the Frenzied Crowd,
They ran their ladders through a score
Of windows on the Ball Room Floor;
And took Peculiar Pains to Souse
The Pictures up and down the House,
Until Matilda’s Aunt succeeded
In showing them they were not needed;
And even then she had to pay
To get the Men to go away!
It happened that a few Weeks later
Her Aunt was off to the Theatre
To see that Interesting Play
The Second Mrs. Tanqueray.
She had refused to take her Niece
To hear this Entertaining Piece:
A Deprivation Just and Wise
To Punish her for Telling Lies.
That Night a Fire did break out—
You should have heard Matilda Shout!
You should have heard her Scream and Bawl,
And throw the window up and call
To People passing in the Street—
(The rapidly increasing Heat
Encouraging her to obtain
Their confidence)—but all in vain!
For every time she shouted “Fire!”
They only answered “Little Liar!”
And therefore when her Aunt returned,
Matilda, and the House, were Burned.
