The paper says the witness, Gail Cooper, was staying with her family 600 yards from the McCann’s apartment in Praia da Luz.
She told the police of a “creepy man” in the area. A picture of the man has been produced
Gary Thompson, an associate editor at the News of the World, tells the BBC the picture was being taken seriously. Well, it on the front page. “The picture has been passed to Interpol, police in Portugal and also in Leicestershire, so the important thing is - who is he? Where is he now?” he asks.
“We’ll be urging all our readers in the morning to get in touch with the authorities if they’ve got any information at all about this man”
Is he the man who abducted Madeleine McCann? Or was Mrs Cooper listening to The Beatles at the time?

The man is “thought to be aged between 38 and 45. He has sallow skin, lank dark hair, large teeth and a distinctive droopy moustache. The suspect, who is said to have spoken in broken English, knocked on the door of Mrs [Sarah] Cooper’s apartment claiming to be collecting for charity. Mrs Cooper says: ‘He made my blood run cold - he gave me the creeps. My judgment is that this man was very suspicious and could have been the kidnapper’”

The Spanish police are looking for Mari Luis Cortes. Says the Star: “Friends of Kate and Gerry McCann say missing Madeleine might have been found by now – if Spanish police had been involved”
Maris Luis Cortes has yet to be found
Says a friend of McCanns of the Portuguese police: “They acted like real amateurs, so it’s no wonder they don’t seem to be getting anywhere finding Madeleine”
The Portuguese police also named the McCanns as suspects
SUNDAY EXPRESS front page: “McCANNS SPLIT BY AGONY OF MADDY”

One of the stylists says: “She was almost in tears as she watched them and my heart went out to her.”

He or she has no argument to present, so its difficult for he or she to win or lose!
A frustrated wanna be lawyer, I think - constantly mentioning ‘the law’ as if he or she has any comprehension of what the law actually is!
Sad really, but he or she must enjoy the responses or he or she would have left long ago.
Anyway, the latest picture has turned the McCanns into a total joke now and Tanner has undermined herself nicely (’oh yes thats him’ - but didnt she say she didnt see his face?!).

You resorting to baseless personal attacks will not alter my opinion that the McCann’s, their friends and possibly some of their family, know rather more about the events leading up to and following Madeleine’s disappearance.
If you bothered to read my posts you would know that statement is about as crackpot as my published theories on the McCann’s gets. I may suspect the McCann’s of much more, but I have no evidence to support my suspicions.
I’m quite happy to debate possible scenarios with other posters but I try to stop short of accusing the McCann’s precisely because there is little evidence in the public domain to support most of the scenarios discussed. This is not to say that one of the scenarios, or some combination of several of them, may in fact transpire to be true.
You on the other hand haven’t the slightest interest in uncovering the truth about Madeleine’s fate.

I dont think any of us know the strength of evidence, though to me its irrelevant.
The McCanns are exposed to the world for what they are. Even those who support them are beginning to realise they were awful parents (or worse).
Legal cases nowadays are seen not to be delivering justice - we all know it, especially, sadly, in the UK where an actress gets 5 million compensation and 90 people die in a hospital and the person responsible resigns with a £250,000 + golden handshake.
Why you seek to defend them (frankly your defence is strengthening anti-opinion!) I do not know.

Taking a long term view of CM’s position after this is all over, where will this man fit in the world. Who will employ him, what can he do or where can he go? Not that I care, it’s just that I’ve been thinking that I would never take a risk like this and potentially ruin my career. £75k is not actually a big salary, I think he’s playing a dangerous game in not securing his own future. Is he being forced to do this, because for the life of me I can’t imagine why anyone would back a dodgy case like this.

Thanks for info about Amaral. Don”t believe all you read about Amaral being back on the case. Rebelo would probably have discussed with him the evidence etc but with the bad
publicity about Amaral”s drinking etc and the other case he was involved in about a missing
girl, and “leaked” police findings etc, the PJ would want to keep their distance. It is noticeable
that since Rebelo took over, very little information has been forthcoming about the progress
of the investigation.
