Madeleine McCann: Kate McCann’s Hairdresser, A Suspect Look And Amaral
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
NEWS OF THE WORLD front page: “MADDY’S KIDNAPPER – Beast who took McCann’s little girl”
A “WORLD EXCLUSIVE”
The paper says the witness, Gail Cooper, was staying with her family 600 yards from the McCann’s apartment in Praia da Luz.
She told the police of a “creepy man” in the area. A picture of the man has been produced
Gary Thompson, an associate editor at the News of the World, tells the BBC the picture was being taken seriously. Well, it on the front page. “The picture has been passed to Interpol, police in Portugal and also in Leicestershire, so the important thing is - who is he? Where is he now?” he asks.
“We’ll be urging all our readers in the morning to get in touch with the authorities if they’ve got any information at all about this man”
Is he the man who abducted Madeleine McCann? Or was Mrs Cooper listening to The Beatles at the time?
SUNDAY MIRROR: “THE MAN WHO RAN OFF WITH MADDY?
EXCLUSIVE Hunt for Madeleine: Day 262 First image of suspect”
Or the second image…
“This is the face of a stalker now believed to have snatched Madeleine McCann. The image is a former FBI artist’s impression based on a detailed description given by a key British witness. It clearly reveals the features of a moustachioed man - who was carrying a little girl in pink pyjamas, believed to be four-year-old Maddie”
It’s a photofit, an artist’s impression. Like this FBI picture of Madeleine
The original photofit issued by Portuguese police showed only a round egg-shaped head and blank face and was widely criticised as being useless. The Sun had an eFit. Jane Tanner’s efit had hair and a jacket
The man is “thought to be aged between 38 and 45. He has sallow skin, lank dark hair, large teeth and a distinctive droopy moustache. The suspect, who is said to have spoken in broken English, knocked on the door of Mrs [Sarah] Cooper’s apartment claiming to be collecting for charity. Mrs Cooper says: ‘He made my blood run cold - he gave me the creeps. My judgment is that this man was very suspicious and could have been the kidnapper’”
EXCLUSIVE – Picture of man who gave woman the CREEPS!
“262 DAYS MISSING AND.. MADDY’S BLUNDER COP BACK ON CASE – “Lazy Goncalo Amaral - fired from the investigation after the Sunday Mirror exposed his long, boozy lunches - has held a string of meetings with new chief detective Paulo Rebelo”
The Mirror is on the case. It got Amaral. It got “creepy” Robert Murat. But now Amaral is back. Says the paper: “The move will be a massive blow to parents Kate and Gerry.” It will be “heartbreaking for 39-year-old doctors Kate and Gerry”. Why? Was Amaral the casue of their problem?
DAILY STAR: “SPANISH COPS SHOW UP MADDIE FLAWS”
The Spanish police are looking for Mari Luis Cortes. Says the Star: “Friends of Kate and Gerry McCann say missing Madeleine might have been found by now – if Spanish police had been involved”
Maris Luis Cortes has yet to be found
Says a friend of McCanns of the Portuguese police: “They acted like real amateurs, so it’s no wonder they don’t seem to be getting anywhere finding Madeleine”
The Portuguese police also named the McCanns as suspects
SUNDAY EXPRESS front page: “McCANNS SPLIT BY AGONY OF MADDY”
“The lives of Kate and Gerry McCann are moving in “opposite directions” because they have developed strikingly different ways of coping with the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine”
We are watching the parents
“Kate is living the life of a semi-recluse as she focuses on being a stay-at-home mother, virtually shutting herself off from the supportive community around her. Gerry, meanwhile, has thrown himself into working full time as a heart specialist during the week, while running the campaign to find four-year-old Madeleine in the evenings and at weekends”
And Kate McCann: “Kate has abandoned the village routine she once shared with Madeleine. She no longer has her hair styled at Dawn Newcombe’s salon, which she regularly visited with Madeleine. Her mother normally takes the twins for haircuts when she is staying”
One of the stylists says: “She was almost in tears as she watched them and my heart went out to her.”
Such is the news in the search for Madeleine McCann
SUNDAY INDEPENDENT: “Maddy’s off the front page”
“Followers of the Madeleine McCann story have been able to depend on the ‘Evening Standard’ to clear the front page for any development. So how come a potential breakthrough, with police looking into the disappearance of another little girl near Praia da Luz, was buried on page 17? The answer is: sales fell by 10,000 the last two times Maddy made the cover, so the news desk have been told to curb their Maddy enthusiasm. If only they’d tell the ‘Express’ to do likewise”

Read the info on Eurojust with interest. One thing , in the first Paragraph it states a Bill of
Law has to be passed……..but at 6th September 2003 this had still not been done. What would this mean if the Law still has not been passed ?

Stop mixing up your anaolgies, it’s poor form!
Your friends and associates know rather more about the events leading up to and following Madeleine’s disappearance than has currently come to light, in my opinion.

I heard that Paull Gadd has had a heart attack and they want him back in the UK to be treated.
I suggest Gerry McCann should treat him.

How about this:
Madeleine’s parents Gerry and Kate McCann remain official suspects in the case, but have always denied any involvement in her disappearance.
Briton Robert Murat is also a suspect in the case.
Straight from the BBC web site article.

She seems to be unhappy with having nailed the McCanns with her limitation of window of opportunity, she is now proving to us that she is a completely unreliable witness, hmmm….maybe they have got to her and she is now being told to ‘look stupid’ and undermine her own witness statements?

Paulo Reis made mention of today’s news yesterday:
Albert Castillón, a Spanish journalist, claimed yesterday, in his blog, that “this weekend will be crucial in solving Madeleine’s case” and recommends to everybody to “pay attention to the news that will came from London on Sunday.” In his post, he also praises the work of Metodo 3, the Spanish detective company hired by the McCann. “If, at last, the clue that will be revealed this Sunday allows Madeleine to be found and shows that the parents had nothing to see with her disappearance, many people will have to apologise”, writes Albert Castillón. “In a few months the case will be solved”, he claims.

I dont beleive that for a moment jane!
I have many contacts in the police forces in the UK, the ground level view is that the family are most likely to have been negligent and the child died in an accident (having been left alone).
Your initial statement nregarding the availablity of police officers proves to me that you have no ‘insider’ contact, so you kinda blew your own argument away!
If this had happened in the UK they would have been charged with neglect, as there is case precedent. The difficulty is the foreign jurisprudence and the ‘cultre’ of media people who also have ‘interesting views’ on child care!

Peter O, you should pass that information on immediately to the McCanns legal team, what’s the point in them appealing the arguido status to the Hague, as you know they have no jurisdiction, another talking shop?
++++++++++++++
Appealing their arguido status is vastly different from suggesting that the Haugue has any jurisdiction over child neglect charges, manslaughter, murder, obstructing the course of a criminal investigation, fraud, etc, etc committed within a sovereign state.
The McCann’s are wriggling. Just like the worms on the end of your alleged fish hook.

Ask 100 coppers at random whether the McCanns and their friends are telling the truth and 99 will say ‘No’
……………………….
Hahahahhaha
This has to be a joke. Where exactly do you suggest a 100 police officers might be found, TB, let alone a 100 ‘at random’? Indeed, when did you last speak to a 100 police officers and put this question to them? Not in UK, surely, where you’d be hard pressed to find a single police officer when you need one. I asked a friend who is a police officer for his view of this issue and he said that he and most of his colleagues do not believe the McCanns harmed Madeleine.
