The paper says the witness, Gail Cooper, was staying with her family 600 yards from the McCann’s apartment in Praia da Luz.
She told the police of a “creepy man” in the area. A picture of the man has been produced
Gary Thompson, an associate editor at the News of the World, tells the BBC the picture was being taken seriously. Well, it on the front page. “The picture has been passed to Interpol, police in Portugal and also in Leicestershire, so the important thing is - who is he? Where is he now?” he asks.
“We’ll be urging all our readers in the morning to get in touch with the authorities if they’ve got any information at all about this man”
Is he the man who abducted Madeleine McCann? Or was Mrs Cooper listening to The Beatles at the time?

The man is “thought to be aged between 38 and 45. He has sallow skin, lank dark hair, large teeth and a distinctive droopy moustache. The suspect, who is said to have spoken in broken English, knocked on the door of Mrs [Sarah] Cooper’s apartment claiming to be collecting for charity. Mrs Cooper says: ‘He made my blood run cold - he gave me the creeps. My judgment is that this man was very suspicious and could have been the kidnapper’”

Maris Luis Cortes has yet to be found
Says a friend of McCanns of the Portuguese police: “They acted like real amateurs, so it’s no wonder they don’t seem to be getting anywhere finding Madeleine”
The Portuguese police also named the McCanns as suspects

“I asked a friend who is a police officer for his view of this issue and he said that he and most of his colleagues do not believe the McCanns harmed Madeleine.”

I always find statements of this nature fascinating. The specific assertion here is that the McCann’s did not harm Madeleine. Tell me Jane, does your friend have a view about who did harm Madeleine?
Very much like some of the statements made by Gerry in particular, the one at East Midlands Airport I found most interesting, in which he made much the same claim.
There may indeed be a grain of truth in the assertions. It does not however change my opinion that the McCann’s, and/or their friends, know more about the events leading up to and following Madeleine’s disappearance than has currently come to light.

If the McCanns escape justice, thats ll they will be doing, escaping justice. Their disgusting treatment of Madeleine (star system of reward) and their child abandonment are matters of accepted record.
Isnt there an episode of Crown Court you could go watch?

I know you all read this, but its just so utterly illogical!
The McCann friend who allegedly saw a man carrying a child on the night of May 3rd, helped to make a first sketch, without a face because she didn’t saw it. Now, she told the News of the World “the man in the new suspect picture strongly resembles the person I saw on May 3rd.”
But she didnt see his face! Ludicrous!

Mods & admin, clarification would be a good thing although I am quite clear about AGW’s direction on this issue. Certain posters seem to think it is fun and allowable to destroy a couple who have not been charged with anything. The law will take its course, if this couple face charges and are found not guilty, the sportsters should hang their heads in shame.

Here’s a thought. Several have mentioned the marked similarity between the latest incarnation of Egg/Bundleman and the late George Harrison. Is that a clue in that this latest likeness may be of a someone who in fact is also dead, or about to turn up dead? Case solved. It were him, shame he didn’t live to tell his story etc, etc.

I was talking to a Detective recently who has a friend working on the McCann case.
APPARENTLY this friend thinks the McCanns are “Heavily involved”
Let”s just hope that at the end of the day justice for Madeleine prevails.
