Madeleine McCann: Kate McCann’s Hairdresser, A Suspect Look And Amaral
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
NEWS OF THE WORLD front page: “MADDY’S KIDNAPPER – Beast who took McCann’s little girl”
A “WORLD EXCLUSIVE”
The paper says the witness, Gail Cooper, was staying with her family 600 yards from the McCann’s apartment in Praia da Luz.
She told the police of a “creepy man” in the area. A picture of the man has been produced
Gary Thompson, an associate editor at the News of the World, tells the BBC the picture was being taken seriously. Well, it on the front page. “The picture has been passed to Interpol, police in Portugal and also in Leicestershire, so the important thing is - who is he? Where is he now?” he asks.
“We’ll be urging all our readers in the morning to get in touch with the authorities if they’ve got any information at all about this man”
Is he the man who abducted Madeleine McCann? Or was Mrs Cooper listening to The Beatles at the time?
SUNDAY MIRROR: “THE MAN WHO RAN OFF WITH MADDY?
EXCLUSIVE Hunt for Madeleine: Day 262 First image of suspect”
Or the second image…
“This is the face of a stalker now believed to have snatched Madeleine McCann. The image is a former FBI artist’s impression based on a detailed description given by a key British witness. It clearly reveals the features of a moustachioed man - who was carrying a little girl in pink pyjamas, believed to be four-year-old Maddie”
It’s a photofit, an artist’s impression. Like this FBI picture of Madeleine
The original photofit issued by Portuguese police showed only a round egg-shaped head and blank face and was widely criticised as being useless. The Sun had an eFit. Jane Tanner’s efit had hair and a jacket
The man is “thought to be aged between 38 and 45. He has sallow skin, lank dark hair, large teeth and a distinctive droopy moustache. The suspect, who is said to have spoken in broken English, knocked on the door of Mrs [Sarah] Cooper’s apartment claiming to be collecting for charity. Mrs Cooper says: ‘He made my blood run cold - he gave me the creeps. My judgment is that this man was very suspicious and could have been the kidnapper’”
EXCLUSIVE – Picture of man who gave woman the CREEPS!
“262 DAYS MISSING AND.. MADDY’S BLUNDER COP BACK ON CASE – “Lazy Goncalo Amaral - fired from the investigation after the Sunday Mirror exposed his long, boozy lunches - has held a string of meetings with new chief detective Paulo Rebelo”
The Mirror is on the case. It got Amaral. It got “creepy” Robert Murat. But now Amaral is back. Says the paper: “The move will be a massive blow to parents Kate and Gerry.” It will be “heartbreaking for 39-year-old doctors Kate and Gerry”. Why? Was Amaral the casue of their problem?
DAILY STAR: “SPANISH COPS SHOW UP MADDIE FLAWS”
The Spanish police are looking for Mari Luis Cortes. Says the Star: “Friends of Kate and Gerry McCann say missing Madeleine might have been found by now – if Spanish police had been involved”
Maris Luis Cortes has yet to be found
Says a friend of McCanns of the Portuguese police: “They acted like real amateurs, so it’s no wonder they don’t seem to be getting anywhere finding Madeleine”
The Portuguese police also named the McCanns as suspects
SUNDAY EXPRESS front page: “McCANNS SPLIT BY AGONY OF MADDY”
“The lives of Kate and Gerry McCann are moving in “opposite directions” because they have developed strikingly different ways of coping with the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine”
We are watching the parents
“Kate is living the life of a semi-recluse as she focuses on being a stay-at-home mother, virtually shutting herself off from the supportive community around her. Gerry, meanwhile, has thrown himself into working full time as a heart specialist during the week, while running the campaign to find four-year-old Madeleine in the evenings and at weekends”
And Kate McCann: “Kate has abandoned the village routine she once shared with Madeleine. She no longer has her hair styled at Dawn Newcombe’s salon, which she regularly visited with Madeleine. Her mother normally takes the twins for haircuts when she is staying”
One of the stylists says: “She was almost in tears as she watched them and my heart went out to her.”
Such is the news in the search for Madeleine McCann
SUNDAY INDEPENDENT: “Maddy’s off the front page”
“Followers of the Madeleine McCann story have been able to depend on the ‘Evening Standard’ to clear the front page for any development. So how come a potential breakthrough, with police looking into the disappearance of another little girl near Praia da Luz, was buried on page 17? The answer is: sales fell by 10,000 the last two times Maddy made the cover, so the news desk have been told to curb their Maddy enthusiasm. If only they’d tell the ‘Express’ to do likewise”

One of my mails has disappeared into the ether or into Mods and Admin’s bkack hole so am re-posting!
……………………………….
Ian…… I should think the McCanns would be congratulated by Social Services for using their recognised and approved child rearing reward / punishment methods of star charts and naughty steps. No way would that go against them!
Ade…. I do hope you aren’t intending to follow the Rod Hull method of aerial fixing through to the Rod H conclusion?
Peter O 506. why are those on here who disagree with the general consensus automatically labelled trolls? I find that weird. I accept that others don’t agree with me so why not vice versa?

I think that “gum bumper” is the crazed old sod’s pet name for moi.

How about declaring every Wednesday as a McCann-free day? Even Anorak would not post any commentary about the McCanns from the news on that day. We would have one day where we could be completely free from this McFarce and know we were not missing anything on the Forum. Think of it as declaring our independence!
———
from post 482
“I think we should declare a McCann holiday for Anorakers some time during each week. Let’s take one set day off where we do not come onto the forum to discuss the case. We can look at it as a way of ‘turning our backs’ on the McCanns and their farce. What do you think?”

Peter O, excellent that you have taken AGW’s advice to heart, so that you are in no doubt, I am neither pro nor anti, I prefer to use AGW’s advice if it’s not true if you can’t prove it don’t repeat it , nice and simple thats why I can say they are innocent without fear of being sued, for at this moment in time that is true, irrespective of what the gum bumper and his cohorts promulgate.
————————————————————
Actually, it is possible that you could be successfully sued for claiming that someone is innocent of a particular offense.
May I suggest that you actually read AGWs comments on this…

I think the photofit on the NOTW is a dead ringer for the late, great George Harrison during his eastern religion phase.

What’s the half time score? Is it even half time?
————————————————
Thank you, Carmen; we are about 30% into the game, provided it doesn’t go into extra time, and both sides have had quite a lot of possession but not much in the way of goal scoring.
I hope.
Bearing in mind that success is defined as being able to walk off the pitch at the end of the match…

What was wrong with the link to a Jan Akkerman photo?
January 20th, 2008 at 4:57 pm
funny that: when Metodo 3 arrived on the scene and few could understand why they were being employed to look for a missing person, i wrote somewhere (don’t remember exactly where now) that i thought they were being hired to investigate the PJ.
has it come to pass?

Looking at the latest Egg/Bundle/Harrison lookalike, I’m sure with your vast 1970s memory you’ll find plenty of possibilities given that he has the hairstyle for it.
I think he looks like one of the best guitarists ever - Jan Akkerman. Remember Focus?

That TFA has a biting wit. I particularly liked the sci-fi glimpse into the future to see where the McCann players are up to there–a nice projection of the lies and public farce we are subjected to now. And the image of Gerry in Wonder Woman underpants made me laugh out loud.

Sadly for Team McCann a lot of people just can’t believe it either…
And the McCanns’ demand for ‘a full review of all police records and witness statements’
suggests that whoever is currently tasked with keeping them in touch with reality is not being wholly successful…

right. so Interpol, the Policia Judiciaria and Leicestershire Police must now look for a man encountered by Gail Cooper…on 20 April 2007…and suspected of what crime on 20th April? did she also see him at the Ocean Club at anytime on 3rd May? did she see him on the night of 3rd May? did any of the other witnesses see him the night of 3rd May? does he fit the description of the man seen by the Irish family walking towards the beach and carrying a child the night of 3rd May? is there ANYTHING that points to the probability that “Creepy Man” of 20th April is “Swarthy Man” of 3rd May?
without solid evidence to connect this man seen on 20th April with the events of 3rd May, this case isn’t even worth blowing brain cells on - not even for the ‘love’ of Madeleinen McCann. it gets more and more incredulous by the day. it’s time to just haul them all in and put a lot of people out of their misery!
