The paper says the witness, Gail Cooper, was staying with her family 600 yards from the McCann’s apartment in Praia da Luz.
She told the police of a “creepy man” in the area. A picture of the man has been produced
Gary Thompson, an associate editor at the News of the World, tells the BBC the picture was being taken seriously. Well, it on the front page. “The picture has been passed to Interpol, police in Portugal and also in Leicestershire, so the important thing is - who is he? Where is he now?” he asks.
“We’ll be urging all our readers in the morning to get in touch with the authorities if they’ve got any information at all about this man”
Is he the man who abducted Madeleine McCann? Or was Mrs Cooper listening to The Beatles at the time?

The original photofit issued by Portuguese police showed only a round egg-shaped head and blank face and was widely criticised as being useless. The Sun had an eFit. Jane Tanner’s efit had hair and a jacket
The man is “thought to be aged between 38 and 45. He has sallow skin, lank dark hair, large teeth and a distinctive droopy moustache. The suspect, who is said to have spoken in broken English, knocked on the door of Mrs [Sarah] Cooper’s apartment claiming to be collecting for charity. Mrs Cooper says: ‘He made my blood run cold - he gave me the creeps. My judgment is that this man was very suspicious and could have been the kidnapper’”

The Spanish police are looking for Mari Luis Cortes. Says the Star: “Friends of Kate and Gerry McCann say missing Madeleine might have been found by now – if Spanish police had been involved”
Maris Luis Cortes has yet to be found
Says a friend of McCanns of the Portuguese police: “They acted like real amateurs, so it’s no wonder they don’t seem to be getting anywhere finding Madeleine”
The Portuguese police also named the McCanns as suspects
SUNDAY EXPRESS front page: “McCANNS SPLIT BY AGONY OF MADDY”
“The lives of Kate and Gerry McCann are moving in “opposite directions” because they have developed strikingly different ways of coping with the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine”
We are watching the parents

One of the stylists says: “She was almost in tears as she watched them and my heart went out to her.”

Star charts, naughty steps, time out zones, other reward can have a valid role in child rearing, in my opinion. Like any other means at the disposal of a parent or carer it largely depends upon whether they are being used in a positive/encouragement way, or in a manner that can only ultimately undermine a child self confidence or worse be emotionally abusive.

I’ve got most if not all John Martyn albums. I like his bluesy style. Saw him at Preston Guildhall a few years ago. He’s more like Gerry Rafferty in appearance than the latest FBI O-level drawing though.

I’ve proposed a social meet of fellow Anorakians when there’s some kind of resolution to this case. I’ll have a beer with anyone - even Sledgehammer. I’ve met plenty of dopes in bars over the years so one more won’t make a difference.
We could all have a sweepstake to try and identify each other. The reality is that most pro-McCann will crawl back under their stones so wouldn’t attend such an event.

What I really want to know is why Tiberius7 from the Mirror forum, never blesses Anorak with his humour and wit.
Everyone of his posts is an absolute rib tickler and could be written by the great Comical Clarrie himself.
Today for example, he states how Clarrie got it “just right” today at his press conference.

Oh, I love the latest Telegraph article:
‘The latest drawing has been passed onto to the Portuguese police who were first reluctant for the picture to be released to the media.
“They did not want this to go out,” said a source close to the investigation.
“But they have since seen it and decided that it was not a bad idea.”
I’ll bet they did.
The sheer joy of watching comical Clarrie trying to persuade the world that a George Harrison lookalike is an evil fiend is hard to match.
But the final destruction of Jane Tanner’s claim to have seen an alleged abductor must have weighed heavily in the balance.
After all, how could anyone who had seen a face like that have overlooked it? With or without a ‘cognitive technique’…
