The paper says the witness, Gail Cooper, was staying with her family 600 yards from the McCann’s apartment in Praia da Luz.
She told the police of a “creepy man” in the area. A picture of the man has been produced
Gary Thompson, an associate editor at the News of the World, tells the BBC the picture was being taken seriously. Well, it on the front page. “The picture has been passed to Interpol, police in Portugal and also in Leicestershire, so the important thing is - who is he? Where is he now?” he asks.
“We’ll be urging all our readers in the morning to get in touch with the authorities if they’ve got any information at all about this man”
Is he the man who abducted Madeleine McCann? Or was Mrs Cooper listening to The Beatles at the time?

The man is “thought to be aged between 38 and 45. He has sallow skin, lank dark hair, large teeth and a distinctive droopy moustache. The suspect, who is said to have spoken in broken English, knocked on the door of Mrs [Sarah] Cooper’s apartment claiming to be collecting for charity. Mrs Cooper says: ‘He made my blood run cold - he gave me the creeps. My judgment is that this man was very suspicious and could have been the kidnapper’”

Maris Luis Cortes has yet to be found
Says a friend of McCanns of the Portuguese police: “They acted like real amateurs, so it’s no wonder they don’t seem to be getting anywhere finding Madeleine”
The Portuguese police also named the McCanns as suspects

That about sums it up nicely except the McCanns hired a Spanish firm of detectives, Metodo 3
at a reported cost of £50,000 per month for six months…………the same Detectives who said
Madeleine would be home by Christmas.
We are all speculating, but now that the PJ has made a formal request to Eurojust to interview the Tapas 7 and McCanns again maybe this will be a turning point.

AS this new “McFantasy McDuctor ” is based on a real person (a first i think) he should be found soon. he sounds like a drifter, chancer and con-man, just the sort not to have an alibi …………….but also the type who whilst hiding in the shadows the wrong side of the law may well have seen/heard things that he could not report………just a theory
.. it could get intresting …or of course he may get run down by a BMW or to more precise an M3

Tony, you really should acknowledge your mistake of stating that Kate and Gerry had been arrested. I’m sure it was an innocent mistake and you were referring to when they were interviewed and became suspects, but it still needs to be noted that it was a mistake. Sledgehammer pointed it out in his post but no one responded to it (perhaps they were scrolling past without reading?).
The day that Kate and Gerry are arrested will be a day of celebration and relief for many on this forum and not one we are likely to forget any time soon. Let’s hope the day is on its way.

The couple very quickly used the fund to pay for two of their monthly mortgage payments.
One of the couple, a consultant cardilogist, claimed that he suspected the children had been sedated (but didnt have them tested). He later had them tested to ‘proove’ he had not sedated them.
The couple hastily left a prolonged stay in Portugal within days of being named as suspects.
The couple allow their children to have toys scattered around the floor, this was specifically pointed out in a video of them at home.
The father was stated (by a well wisher) to have been ‘glad’ he didnt have to have his children with him as he dined.
The parents used a ‘points’ system to prevent the under 4 year old child from bothering them in their room at home, yet despite knowing she had this difficulty, left her with tiny twins alone and unsupervised or monitored in an unlocked apartment in a foriegn country
The father of the child quickly spoke out against accusations of not being the genetic father of the missing child, he didnt mention his wifes connection, his wife has not made a similar statement.
Theres more but its boring for you and me!
