Madeleine McCann: Kate McCann’s Hairdresser, A Suspect Look And Amaral
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
NEWS OF THE WORLD front page: “MADDY’S KIDNAPPER – Beast who took McCann’s little girl”
A “WORLD EXCLUSIVE”
The paper says the witness, Gail Cooper, was staying with her family 600 yards from the McCann’s apartment in Praia da Luz.
She told the police of a “creepy man” in the area. A picture of the man has been produced
Gary Thompson, an associate editor at the News of the World, tells the BBC the picture was being taken seriously. Well, it on the front page. “The picture has been passed to Interpol, police in Portugal and also in Leicestershire, so the important thing is - who is he? Where is he now?” he asks.
“We’ll be urging all our readers in the morning to get in touch with the authorities if they’ve got any information at all about this man”
Is he the man who abducted Madeleine McCann? Or was Mrs Cooper listening to The Beatles at the time?
SUNDAY MIRROR: “THE MAN WHO RAN OFF WITH MADDY?
EXCLUSIVE Hunt for Madeleine: Day 262 First image of suspect”
Or the second image…
“This is the face of a stalker now believed to have snatched Madeleine McCann. The image is a former FBI artist’s impression based on a detailed description given by a key British witness. It clearly reveals the features of a moustachioed man - who was carrying a little girl in pink pyjamas, believed to be four-year-old Maddie”
It’s a photofit, an artist’s impression. Like this FBI picture of Madeleine
The original photofit issued by Portuguese police showed only a round egg-shaped head and blank face and was widely criticised as being useless. The Sun had an eFit. Jane Tanner’s efit had hair and a jacket
The man is “thought to be aged between 38 and 45. He has sallow skin, lank dark hair, large teeth and a distinctive droopy moustache. The suspect, who is said to have spoken in broken English, knocked on the door of Mrs [Sarah] Cooper’s apartment claiming to be collecting for charity. Mrs Cooper says: ‘He made my blood run cold - he gave me the creeps. My judgment is that this man was very suspicious and could have been the kidnapper’”
EXCLUSIVE – Picture of man who gave woman the CREEPS!
“262 DAYS MISSING AND.. MADDY’S BLUNDER COP BACK ON CASE – “Lazy Goncalo Amaral - fired from the investigation after the Sunday Mirror exposed his long, boozy lunches - has held a string of meetings with new chief detective Paulo Rebelo”
The Mirror is on the case. It got Amaral. It got “creepy” Robert Murat. But now Amaral is back. Says the paper: “The move will be a massive blow to parents Kate and Gerry.” It will be “heartbreaking for 39-year-old doctors Kate and Gerry”. Why? Was Amaral the casue of their problem?
DAILY STAR: “SPANISH COPS SHOW UP MADDIE FLAWS”
The Spanish police are looking for Mari Luis Cortes. Says the Star: “Friends of Kate and Gerry McCann say missing Madeleine might have been found by now – if Spanish police had been involved”
Maris Luis Cortes has yet to be found
Says a friend of McCanns of the Portuguese police: “They acted like real amateurs, so it’s no wonder they don’t seem to be getting anywhere finding Madeleine”
The Portuguese police also named the McCanns as suspects
SUNDAY EXPRESS front page: “McCANNS SPLIT BY AGONY OF MADDY”
“The lives of Kate and Gerry McCann are moving in “opposite directions” because they have developed strikingly different ways of coping with the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine”
We are watching the parents
“Kate is living the life of a semi-recluse as she focuses on being a stay-at-home mother, virtually shutting herself off from the supportive community around her. Gerry, meanwhile, has thrown himself into working full time as a heart specialist during the week, while running the campaign to find four-year-old Madeleine in the evenings and at weekends”
And Kate McCann: “Kate has abandoned the village routine she once shared with Madeleine. She no longer has her hair styled at Dawn Newcombe’s salon, which she regularly visited with Madeleine. Her mother normally takes the twins for haircuts when she is staying”
One of the stylists says: “She was almost in tears as she watched them and my heart went out to her.”
Such is the news in the search for Madeleine McCann
SUNDAY INDEPENDENT: “Maddy’s off the front page”
“Followers of the Madeleine McCann story have been able to depend on the ‘Evening Standard’ to clear the front page for any development. So how come a potential breakthrough, with police looking into the disappearance of another little girl near Praia da Luz, was buried on page 17? The answer is: sales fell by 10,000 the last two times Maddy made the cover, so the news desk have been told to curb their Maddy enthusiasm. If only they’d tell the ‘Express’ to do likewise”

Correct. The McCanns will of course go back as soon as asked…according to Clarence…but there are one or two stipulations…like ‘let them off the hook’!

I thought the McCanns had been made Suspects which meant they could hire a Portugese Lawyer and refuse to answer certain questions. I didn”t think they had been charged, otherwise how could they have left Portugal? Apparently they were given permission to leave Portugal on condition they would return voluntarily if requested. Obviously they have no intention of doing so and have an expert Lawyer in Extradition to act for them if necessary.

But it must be a verifiable “fact” as to whether this person who saw BeatleMan did in fact report it to the police on the date she claims to have reported it or not?
If she did report it, then either the police are incompetent, or they eliminated this line of enquiry for some reason?

I still cant get over the confirmation from Tanner!
Clearly she would agree to any description which confirmed the involvement of an abductor!
From egg to Peter Wyngard!
It seems the abductor is a bit of a blank canvas!

“Tony Bennett - Here’s a TIME Magazine article from September 7 that also states that Kate and Gerry McCann were not arrested or charged. Perhaps in the legal world, you are technically correct about a ‘voluntary arrest’ but in the everyday world, apparently the word arrest does not apply to the McCanns being interviewed by the police in September”.
REPLY: Let me put it another way. If the McCanns hadn’t ‘voluntarily’ agreed to be questioned, then they *would have been arrested*. The terminology may be slightly different in the two countries. But the effect is precisely the same.
The McCanns were interviewed by the PJ in September under caution, the same as they would have been with a ‘voluntary arrest’ in the U.K.

THE CONNECTION BETWEEN ‘GEORGE HARRISON MAN’ AND ROBERT MURAT

What is the connection between ‘George Harrison man’ and Robert Murat?
755 Garth says (January 20th, 2008 at 8:42 pm):
“Dunno…go on then whats the connection? tis another attempt at one of your jokes i take it?”
==========================
REPLY: Dear oh dear, Garth, I thought that you and the rest of the ‘team’ had got this one well and truly sussed.
No, it wasn’t a trick question.
Let me provide the answer, which I’ve carefully researched, based on statements by Jane Tanner, artists’ impressions, innumerable statements from ’sources close to the McCanns’, and claims from Metodo 3, to name but a few of my main sources.
Here is the answer.
Robert Murat was the mastermind of the whole operation, working under instruction from one or maybe more paedophile gangs who were probably, but not certainly, based in Morocco or some other part of North Africa.
His girlfriend Michaela Walfruth (can’t recall the spelling) was his accomplice and right-hand woman.
Robert Murat engaged ‘George Harrison man’ to carry out the abduction. The paedophile gangs were ideally looking out for a 3-year-old girl, preferably with eye or other defects, whom they could rape and then kill. Madeleine fitted the bill. Creepy ‘George Harrison man’, presumably 5′ 7″ but definitely not as tall as 5′ 9″, was looking out for opportunities in the weeks before the McCanns arrived. His ‘cover’ was that of a charity salesman.
After the abduction had been successfully carried out by ‘George Harrison man’ leaping through a window with Madeleine over his shoulder or tucked under his arm without touching the lichen-encrusted window-sill, sometime between [see Ian's posts] 9.13pm and 9.14pm on Thursday 3 May, Robert Murat hung around outside the apartment between about 10.00pm and 11.00pm, where he was seen by two tennis-playing sisters from Kent who had just emerged from a tavern, an unnamed barrister, and half-a-dozen other people who clearly recollect it as Robert Murat that they saw - after having seen his suspicious, nay evil, face in the newespapers or on the telly about 1,000 times in the past 8 months.
The reason he was hanging around was to gloat over the success of his cunning plan.
That I think neatly fits together all the pieces of the Team McCann/Metodo 3 jigsaw on this case.
For the past few months we have had the face of the evil child-pornography-viewer Robert Murat thrust at us as the ‘mastermind’ of the ‘paedophile plot’.
Today, the ‘face of the kidnapper’ has at last been unveiled - just 260 days after Madeleine ‘disappeared’.
If I’m wrong about the connection between ‘George Harrison man’ and Robert Murat, well, I invite correction
