The paper says the witness, Gail Cooper, was staying with her family 600 yards from the McCann’s apartment in Praia da Luz.
She told the police of a “creepy man” in the area. A picture of the man has been produced
Gary Thompson, an associate editor at the News of the World, tells the BBC the picture was being taken seriously. Well, it on the front page. “The picture has been passed to Interpol, police in Portugal and also in Leicestershire, so the important thing is - who is he? Where is he now?” he asks.
“We’ll be urging all our readers in the morning to get in touch with the authorities if they’ve got any information at all about this man”
Is he the man who abducted Madeleine McCann? Or was Mrs Cooper listening to The Beatles at the time?

The man is “thought to be aged between 38 and 45. He has sallow skin, lank dark hair, large teeth and a distinctive droopy moustache. The suspect, who is said to have spoken in broken English, knocked on the door of Mrs [Sarah] Cooper’s apartment claiming to be collecting for charity. Mrs Cooper says: ‘He made my blood run cold - he gave me the creeps. My judgment is that this man was very suspicious and could have been the kidnapper’”

Maris Luis Cortes has yet to be found
Says a friend of McCanns of the Portuguese police: “They acted like real amateurs, so it’s no wonder they don’t seem to be getting anywhere finding Madeleine”
The Portuguese police also named the McCanns as suspects

I watched the news headlines tonite, demands from the McCanns for worldwide police assistance in getting the suspect, and an interview with Gail Cooper…its become so surreal

I wonder whether the McCanns realise that this tactic is likely to have unfortunate repercussions from the police forces in question?
If you want someone to do you a favour it helps if you bear in mind that you are asking them for a favour.
Did Cooper claim to have spoken directly to the PJ on 7th May?
She had been back in England apparently on 25th April, so I assume the police who took a statement were the Nottinghamshire police.
Slagging off the PJ doesn’t help if you want other police forces to take on vast amounts of work looking for someone without a warrant for his arrest.
Presumably the McCanns’ lawyers have explained this small detail to them…

The McCann, according to a friend quoted by ThiIsLondon, believe that “a group of two or three paedophiles may have fishing around the apartments, casing it with a view to taking children.” This belief is based in another witness, Paul Gordon, who also contacted Metodo 3, but gave a description of a different man hanging round the McCann’s apartment.

I agree that there appears to be a mass of inconsistencies and unexplained actions (or lack of actions) that need to be clarified. Hopefully, the PJ and the British police will be able to do so in due course.

And yes, the formal request to Eurojust is a hopeful sign that things are on the move at last.
And, for the record, I remain unconvinced that Madeleine was abducted, and I will admit to feeling instantly hostile towards her parents when I saw their first TV appeal (performance) to the public. Almost every action of theirs since has produced the same reaction, so I will feel horribly ashamed of myself if it is proved that they both knew nothing at all about her disappearance.

Apparently Madeleine was habitually trying to get into bed with her parents, and to try to
get her to sleep in her own bed she was given a star when she complied. This was probably one of the reasons why Kate wrote in her Diary that Madeleine was a handful. In a way the
practice should not be encouraged, but Madeleine probably needed some loving which on the
holiday was not very evident was it!!!!!!

The article saying Kate McCann offered to put a photo of Mari Luz on the posters they were
distributing referred to 12,000. As I mentioned in a previous poster Carrefour in Spain
apparently refused previouslyfor the Madeleine posters to be put on shopping trolleys, and
with PDLremoving all evidence of Madeleine and the general feeling of enough is enough all
over Europe the McCanns might find it difficult to distribute these posters. I presumed the
12,000 cost the £80,000 reportedly spent on posters, so if there is another million what on earth are they thinking of!!!!!!!!!!!!
