Ms Fitzpatrick yesterday said that her only daughter is “still just a kid”.
“She is only 15 and she has disappeared without trace.”
Amy Fitpatrick was 15 when she vanished after leaving her friend’s house near Feungirola, in Spain, at 10pm on New Year’s Day. She set out on the 20-minute walk to her own house, but has not been seen since.

It would be nice if people stopped attacking the police, competent or not. They were faced with a paradox. Parents who had abandoned their little babies and had, as a result it seemed, lost them.
How about we focus on the criminals, whoever they are, and stop wasting energy in attacking the police?
Had the parents taken their responsibilites seriously, the poilice need not have been involved.

I totally agree with you.
I don’t blame the police at all. They were at a definite disadvantage, blind-sided, manipulated, attacked, and blamed. Nevertheless, they are playing it very smart.
I believe the PJ’s resources at this point dwarf anything Gerry McCann could muster–but there are road blocks because of some leverage the McCanns still have.
I also think it could be very wise of the PJ to just place everything in the hands of the UK and say “Hey, these are your people. Here is the evidence. Have fun dealing with them yourselves.”

I respectfully disagree.
Despite the best efforts of an awful lot of people to suggest otherwise, this case is actually about the fate of an innocent three year old girl, Madeleine. A young girl who at best, if you believe the abduction theory, was placed directly in harms way by her parents. In my opinion, her parents have been attempting to wriggle out of any direct responsibility for Madeleine’s fate ever since and in doing so have attracted suspicion upon themselves.

I read the time would be Jan 29, at 8.32? am GMT. There are vivid discussions about the TU24 on many forums, (me unable to provide links) just no hit in the official news, not in my country anyway. NASA’s site is providing information about it but discussion is going on wheather they are hiding something the estimated impact etc. or they can’t calculate the “route” either etc. We don’t want to create mass hysteria for nothing of course… Thanks for asking.

I fully understand what AGW is saying but that’s not what I asked you. I said did you have a link to the law…not a link to someone’s commentary or interpretation of the law or how to behave in anorak. I meant the law itself…the form of words in the legal dictionary or wherever it is contained.

Ian - i lost the plot re team mcc tackticks a while ago, perhaps you are right but i also remember there being a lot of descrepancies around the times of the checks - so g mcc was reported as checking ‘around’ 9.15. I actually don’t believe that they are that clever to try and discredit Ms Tanners sightings as such.
However i agree that her sighting was ‘unexpected and threw the mcc’s a curve ball (IMO), which has never been handled well by them. I also think that Dr Oldfield was set up to check on the kids and find maddie missing ( as there is no evidence that i’ve seen of the tapas 9/10 checking on each others children other than on this occasion). Hence kates somewhat unusual reaction.
This leads me to the theory that most of the tapas 9/10 are not involved in any scheme that may or may not have been cooked up to cover for maddies dissapearence.
i also think that Ms Tanner has retained her own lawyer, and may want to ammend her statement somewhat. If I remember rightly on seeing her description initially - i thought that she was describing G McC - even down to the clothes he was wearing. Perhaps after watching the circus for a while she has twigged that something does no fit?? Perhaps she wants to inform them of the mcc’s initial reaction to her sighting?? who knows but it felt to me as though she were playing a part in the panorama programme.

Im suprised it lasted so long! The mirror is a newspaper that seems to always have opinions with which I disagree!
To allow free discussion of the McCann case, when clearly it is pro-McCann as a ‘news’ paper, seemed odd to me.
I dont think it was anything other than lack of control (weal moderation) and fear of the McCann machine. Whats your view?

Ms Tanner is on record - panorama - as saying that she didn’t see his face.
It was only LAST WEEK that ms Tanner said that she thought Ms Coopers efit ‘could be’ the same man.

It obviouslky does need explaining..
Firstly, we know the PJ didnt take Tanner seriously. Why? Who knows. But what they should have done is put together an e-fit of this person, not some scrawny pic of a man with a parting in his hair. That is the first indication as to the unproffesionalism of the PJ.
The second point is that the sighting by Cooper was indeed two weeks or whatever prior to May 3rd. But if you’re going to try and track someone down then you dont just ignore a statement, you do something about it. They again should have recognised any similarities with Tanners sighting if indeed there were. Again, an e-fit or artists impression should have been put together. Its a matter of illimination afterall. They havent got much evidence with regard to an abduction and I can see why. They are not interested.

Jane Tanner’s picture was pretty as she described it at the time, no facial features.
You are attempting to tie in Gail Cooper’s alleged sighting two weeks prior to Madeleine’s alleged disappearance without any knowledge of why the PJ may have decided not to pursue Gail Cooper’s information.
There are no similarities between Jane Tanner’s alleged sighting and Gail Cooper’s. One has facial features, the other doesn’t. Any link between the two has been “suddenly remembered” by Jane Tanner many months after her original egg/bundleman drawings/sightings.
While you’re entitled to express an opinion that the lack of information pointing to an abduction is because of some disinterest by the PJ, you actually have no proof that it’s their alleged disinterest that leads to the lack of information. The most likely explanation is that the PJ are a competent police force doing a competent job in a difficult case and there simply isn’t any evidence that points to an abduction.
