“Mari Luz Cortes vanished on January 13, as she went to buy sweets from a local kiosk in the Spanish town of Huelva, near the border with Portugal. A massive search for the five-year-old is ongoing.
“The disappearance has been linked to that of Madeleine McCann from the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz, although police said they did not think the two cases were connected.
Ms Fitzpatrick yesterday said that her only daughter is “still just a kid”.
“She is only 15 and she has disappeared without trace.”
Amy Fitpatrick was 15 when she vanished after leaving her friend’s house near Feungirola, in Spain, at 10pm on New Year’s Day. She set out on the 20-minute walk to her own house, but has not been seen since.

Evening everyone!
I do like the name “Cooperman” for this new “suspect”, very good whoever came up with that.
Now a question.
I’m neither a parent nor a social worker, so I don’t know the answer to this, but someone else here might? Is it possible for the police and Social Services to question children aged say three-and-a-half and actually get some useful information out of them?
If so then I guess there would be two schools of thought. One would be that there is no real point because kids that age don’t articulate very well, and have bad memories etc.
The other would be that kids that age are worth questioning because they have little concept of lying, and therefore will probably tell the truth.
Just thinking out loud a bit more, if a police force from one country wanted to go to another country to coax answers out of kids that young, there’d be a lot of red tape I guess as well as secrecy and a press silence so as not to identify the kids “for legal reasons.”
Can anyone help?

‘A million posters appealing for information in English, Arabic and French about the suspicious character are now being distributed throughout Morocco and the Iberian Peninsula where private detectives working for the McCanns believe she has been taken.’
I suppose it might just be a lot cheaper to stick to the 3 languages, but it seems to defeat the object of the exercise…

Sounds like we need a list of those contradictions. That would be interesting to count them up. I remember the blood being mentioned because she cut her leg.
erm….as if blood wouldn’t clot and scab over in the several hours from leaving East Midlands to arriving at the apartment! The flight was around 2 hours. It was probably a good 4 hours later when they got settled in to 5A.

I think,only in my humble opinion, ( just in case), that the likes of John Corner and Clarrie and the beeb are really setting the McC’s up. When all comes out in the wash, they can pull things out of the bag to refer back to and on film, direct quotes the lot. For example:
Clunk whoosh (was she even sober in that interview?)
JT - carrying the child like this
JMc in a car saying - perhaps sedated.
Not to mention all the televised interviews where they tripped themselves up.
Etc etc etc
All on the BBC and maybe some clever bugger doing edits as we speak. Certainly covers their back doesn’t it - just in case it turns against McC’s. Always two sides of a coin and especially in media and politics.
