“Mari Luz Cortes vanished on January 13, as she went to buy sweets from a local kiosk in the Spanish town of Huelva, near the border with Portugal. A massive search for the five-year-old is ongoing.
“The disappearance has been linked to that of Madeleine McCann from the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz, although police said they did not think the two cases were connected.
Ms Fitzpatrick yesterday said that her only daughter is “still just a kid”.
“She is only 15 and she has disappeared without trace.”
Amy Fitpatrick was 15 when she vanished after leaving her friend’s house near Feungirola, in Spain, at 10pm on New Year’s Day. She set out on the 20-minute walk to her own house, but has not been seen since.

I can’t understand it and don’t get it, but for some reason, Madeleine seemed to be an unloved child. How really sad is that? The answer no doubt will be with the selfish two - seems the twins loved her though. Madeleine, no doubt, has come through her ordeal now and the whole world loves her and i’m sure she’ll know that.

That has been stated enough on here - speculation, of course, I’m sure - that she was unloved. Though it has certainly boggled my mind as how any such carte blanche statement could be made since no neighbors, friends or acquaintances have made such a statement to the newspapers that would lead one to such a conclusion.

Jo - I absolutely agree with you - BUT for the mother of that poor little child to say that the McCann saga pulled at her heart strings way back in May = and then let her little girl wander off to the shops on her own, on a busy road with no supervision - the “pulled heart strings” senario didnt last long did it? I read also the the mother is now wandering around clutching her daughters favourite doll - “ring any bells?” Its about time that parents everywhere were made aware of the fact that parenting is a serious business (pardon the pun - making £miiiiilllliooooonnns for the Mc’s) Seriously - everyone who is a good parent would not even think of leaving a child of 4 or 5 alone or unsurpervised outside of thier own home

We are way past the stage when justice for the child can be achieved. WHATEVER the outcome - it has taken nearly a year to sort out this sorry mess. That will never be justice for the child. Whovever is responsible has shifted the concentration from Missing Child to persecuted parents.. I bloody well HATE the McCanns and everything they stand for - and nobody can argue with an opinion. In my opinion, they need to be smacked until they cannot stand for the neglect and the subsequent self preservation tactics they have shown

I agree about the impatience thing… I’ve thought for some while now that the PJ are going about things in their own sweet way at a pace that suits them and no one else.
Don’t know that I agree that they have everything they need and are just “waiting”. Surely they would want this case brought to trial(s) as soon as possible? Assuming charges are ever brought of course.

Now, why would I want to do that Garth?
I don’t think there is any evidence that any of us are aware of to support annie1’s claims, though elements of it seem plausible given the information that has seemingly leaked into public view.
All a bit too much speculation for me. There is I fear much more “theatre” to follow in this case before we get close to charges, if indeed we ever do.
