Madeleine McCann: Gail Cooper Says And Amy Fitzpatrick
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
THE SUN: “Potential Maddie witness snub”
“The British woman who may have seen Maddie McCann’s kidnapper has NOT been quizzed by Portuguese cops”
Gail Cooper says she saw a man. An artist’s impression of the man has been released
Gail, of Newark, Notts, says: “They never contacted me. He must be found, even if it is to rule him out”
IRISH INDEPENDENT: “Mum vows to continue search for missing teen Amy”
“Mari Luz Cortes vanished on January 13, as she went to buy sweets from a local kiosk in the Spanish town of Huelva, near the border with Portugal. A massive search for the five-year-old is ongoing.
“The disappearance has been linked to that of Madeleine McCann from the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz, although police said they did not think the two cases were connected.
Ms Fitzpatrick yesterday said that her only daughter is “still just a kid”.
“She is only 15 and she has disappeared without trace.”
Amy Fitpatrick was 15 when she vanished after leaving her friend’s house near Feungirola, in Spain, at 10pm on New Year’s Day. She set out on the 20-minute walk to her own house, but has not been seen since.

And now the alteration in timing to an estimated 9:10 for seeing the abductor, discrediting Tanner (as 9:10 was the estimated time when Gerry was supposed to be just about to leave the apartment).
Although I dont think many here agree, I think its a very interesting and vital change (and one I predicted a while back, though I thought they’d make the sighting later - not earlier!)
I wonder what Garth will make of it, as we had some interesting discussions when there was a 5 minute window of opportunity, now it is a ‘no minute’ window of opportunity he will have to come up with a much speedier abductor!
Maybe there was a rip in the time/space continuum?

Inconsistencies are the soul of speculation.

A lot of the MF crowd is reconvening at the3arguidos.net.
I do remember one of the latest rumors on their yesterday was that the PJ new where M was stored initially, and there began to be a lot of follow up posts about do-it-youself embalming.
And then there was the legal talk … then the bomb dropped.

I might have agreed with you if in the first couple of months of it’s
existence.
Note…From Mirror’s Official Reason.
“””We will not tolerate this kind of behaviour from a small handful of malign voices
and have taken the unprecedented decision to block all further discussion on the
McCanns. “””
Nothing about being unable to Moderate properly….and “from a small handful of
malign voices”””””
A simple warning re and deletion of transgressing posts…would have been sufficient.
Their response….a very Draconian measure.
I suspect something more is the actual cause…
————————————————————————
Well, far be it from me to deter your suspicions…
On the other hand I do not think that there was a bat in hell’s chance of the Mirror admitting that it couldn’t moderate it properly, and not a snowball in hell’s chance that the Mirror would suggest that there was anything more than a few malign individuals in its readership.
What was it supposed to do, announce that it was incompetent to deal with the large numbers of raving loonies who make up its readers?

Yes very odd - a tragedy, an awful thing, but a disaster? Yes, had to be expanding the issue to the impact on their careers. The word ‘disaster’ does fit when one considers they are in positions where their judgement cannot be called in to question if they are to remain in employment.
But I dont think he uses English very well (constant use of ‘incredibly’ and misplaced ‘absolutely’ ). Of course he isnt actually English, so maybe in his mother tongue he ios fluenct? Amazing he managed to pass exams in English (must have been multiple choice!). Just kidding I know he is highly intelligent, as his blogs have shown the world.

It is interesting that not a single journalist seems to be curious what has become of the letters letters the Portugal authorities have sent.
And the German and Austrian newspapers only repeat what they get from the press agencies. And even that in many cases incorrect.
————————————————–
I’m not sure that they are incurious.
There is, I think, a degree of embarassment over the Cooper fiasco, with virtually nothing in the press here today.
The Evening Standard, long noted for its besottedness seems to have nothing at all in today’s paper; highly unusual given the huge spread it did on Mrs Cooper’s visions.
I did look back at some early Standard articles; do you recall Gerry telling the assembled journalists:
‘”We feel sure that this sighting of a man with what appeared to be a child in his arms is both significant and relevant to Madeleine’s abduction.”
Strange how, over the months, it became transmuted into the claim that not only was it a child, but a child called Madeleine McCann..

GM called the time he lost his daughter forever “that fateful night.”
He’s writes like it’s the 19th Century, he is Edgar Allen Poe, and the loss of his child doesn’t concern him! Creepy.
——————————
I’ve always thought his use of the word ‘disaster’ (when he phoned home to report what had happened) was very odd. Wikipedia’s definition of the word is a ‘natural or manmade event with negative implications’. And manmade disasters often involve negligence. The negative implications of his ‘disaster’ (for himself and / or family and friends) seem paramount in his choice of word. And, most of all, it seems that ‘disaster management’ was just waiting to be strategised.

Can you drive hire cars across Europe?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes. At lease you used to be able to. If you hire from Avis, Hertz etc. They have branches in all countries in Europe.
But you have to specifiy where you’re taking it i.e. from France to Germany etc.
Not sure about now tho’
And I think it costs a fair bit more.
Julie… no, no, thats really not fair to Firestar. He has a legitimate business you could damage with accusations like that… Stevo is the one with problems of confidentiality of his posters.
—————————————————————–
coolandcalm, why do you say that is no fair to Firestar? I am asking a question to which I expect an honest answer. My problems started shortly after I accessed one or two links (provided here via poster’s names) to a SUPPOSED poll! (Way before I accessed Stevo’s site incidentally!). I recall that it was Firestar that promoted one of your books on his site, is this the reason you are sticking up for him so adamantly?
I have no problems with Stevo, he knows quite a bit of information about me, and NOT ONCE has he even mentioned ANYTHING on this site! I think that YOU are the one who is being unfair to Stevo! He is the one who set up a site to try and find the truth, and he has spent many, many hours working on theories, etc. Just because you have differences of opinion with him does not mean that he is unethical! In my opinion if he received abusive mail from someone, then that person should not have been stupid enough to send it from a traceable e-mail address, and I stand behind him 100 % for exposing that person!
Quite frankly of all the posters here, Stevo is the one that I would trust with practically anything!
From what I’ve been able to find out, it came from high up.
At first the mods did not know the reason.
Coldwater (who had a insider in PDL) was in touch with the mods.
Also one of the last threads which was getting a lot of hits, had the names of some lawyers who were explaining how the McCanns were going to weasle out of a trial.
Um.
Right. Don’t think it was a hire car. Think the hire car with the traces was used to transport to barn. Then Russell O Brien was there (or at least that area ) as the mobile phone triangulation.
Collection then made by whoever drove to Portugal to support family, and package put in boot of their own car prior to travelling home.
I appreciate that this theory will be leapt upon by all and sundry, with the danger involved in moving in this way, possibility of being stopped by customs etc. on entry into UK.
But - if Madeleine is back here then the situation regarding monitoring discovery is far easier than in Portugal. After all would you like to live in fear of body being discovered ?
No.
But if you are closer, and you have laid very intricate and clever false trails, plus intense media interest away from the country in which evidence can be found, surely you’d feel a little safer. Hence the “show us the body ” comment.
Which was callous, cocky and indescribably horrific.
IMO
A newspaper in the McCanns’ county of Leicestershire had to close an online discussion forum because of vicious comments about the couple. More than 17,000 people signed an online petition asking social workers to find the McCanns unfit parents to look after their two-year-old twins. An internet poll found that only 20 per cent of Britons thought they were completely innocent.
