“Mari Luz Cortes vanished on January 13, as she went to buy sweets from a local kiosk in the Spanish town of Huelva, near the border with Portugal. A massive search for the five-year-old is ongoing.
“The disappearance has been linked to that of Madeleine McCann from the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz, although police said they did not think the two cases were connected.
Ms Fitzpatrick yesterday said that her only daughter is “still just a kid”.
“She is only 15 and she has disappeared without trace.”
Amy Fitpatrick was 15 when she vanished after leaving her friend’s house near Feungirola, in Spain, at 10pm on New Year’s Day. She set out on the 20-minute walk to her own house, but has not been seen since.

Would someone here explain how libel laws are different in the UK from the USA?
From what I know, in the US, the individual is responsible for what he writes, here in the UK, the publication is also responsible.

I know that you are deeply embarrassed by the total absence of the million posters that comical Clarrie promised to have up in Iberia and northern Africa, and the even more embarrassing total absence of anything supportive in the press about Ms Cooper’s wonderful visions, but just because he’s made a prat out of himself is no reason to take it out on us here.
The world-wide manhunt clearly needs something to help it on its way; would it not be a wonderful example if you yourself made a start on the promised million posters?
If you start in northern portugal and work down from there you could make real inroads over the next six months or so.
You could take with you the knowledge that you were actually doing something to help find The Artist Formerly Known As George Harrison, as opposed to just hanging around your laptop in the hope that surfing the web would detect the dastardly villain…

This bizarre sketch captures why the police investigation into the abduction of Madeleine McCann has been so savagely condemned.
Officers have not released any photofit or artist’s impression of the suspected abductor.
But they have, apparently, shown a sketch like this to residents in Praia da Luz.
One of them was Simon Russell, 40, runs a video store and Internet cafe in the former fishing village.
“I smiled when they showed it to me. What else could you do?” he said.
He said the sketch was so simple it was easy for him to recreate, and it is Mr Russell’s drawing that is used here.
He described it as looking like “an egg with a side parting”.
