I suggested a while ago that Jack could use the Screenwriters’ Guild time-out from CTU to clean up some problems outside LA - the Maddy Mystery in particular.

Given his effective cross-examination of his brother in the last series (and he wasn’t even altogether responsible for the guy’s death under interrogation), I think 10 minutes with a suitably ‘prepped’ Gerry would clear up a lot of things.

Given 2 or 3 episodes and some fancy transport, Jack could probably take in Portugal, Spain, Marocco, Malta and the Balkans as well as Rothley.
