
A FRENCH banking disaster?
Société Générale, France’s second-biggest bank, has revealed that one of its traders in Paris had committed a 5bn euro (£3.6bn/$7.1bn) fraud.

One more French banking disaster. No harm : we, the taxpayers, will pay, as usual. A lot will be said, nothing will be done. The bank and its executives will be flourishing after a little while thanks to the public money. C’est la vie.

It takes remarkable ability to lose that amount of money on plain vanilla transactions.
Thank god he didn’t get involved in chocolate…
