Saturn Says:

You seem incapable of distinguishing between a discussion about the way in which the media represents the disappearance of a small child, and the abuse of freedom of speech by people who derive sexual pleasure from writing about the abuse of children... And if you really cannot distinguish between analysis of press coverage and weirdos getting their rocks off then this blog is probably too complicated for you to understand…
*****************
For myself, I only pursue a disinterested analysis. Though I think the McCanns are guilty, I realize they may not be. I probably misunderstood something, for I do not know what you mean about posters "deriving sexual pleasure". Fortunately I have not seen any such postings. Carmen mentioned that people have been 'posting paedophilia' on this site. She wrote "“THINK FIRST FOLKS! You are aware that we have had difficulty with people trying to post pedophilia.” My main point was surprise because I am not aware of anyone doing that, and worry that it could be causing ANORAK to prepare closing down the site. If undesirable people are making such posts here, I am guessing that they access the site after Googling that word. So I suggested editing the word out of the topic description, though I tried to emphasize I have no opinion one way or the other on doing so.

You have absolutely no evidence whatsoever to support your claim that Anorak proposes to close down this site,
***************
True, it was a question or worry.
----------------------

and the people who have made this site have shown their commitment to free speech over many years; yet you come along and condescendingly reprove them for not doing what you want…
**************
This was my poor choice of words, such as too-strong 'hypocrisy' in conjunction with sounding personal using 'you'. I apologize for my carelessness in writing the post to Carmen. I was not meaning to address Carmen or anyone personally, but just to say that media outlets in general have certain contradictions or inconsistencies. The McCann case aggravates them, I think. Especially because the McCanns are forever promoting that topic every time they find a new creepy man to sketch. It goes without saying that that will create a kind of sensationalism, and yet at the same time the topic will be one that must be watched carefully. I think maybe Team McCann knows this and it is why they always without fail promote the idea that there was a sexual predator.

Everyone is free to speculate that , since she is a suspect, possibly Kate killed her daughter. The McCanns say this is not fair. But then they make a sketch and claim that this man could be the sexual predator they are looking for. Surely they must realize that if they keep insisting that a paedophile is involved, people are going to wonder about why Gerry keeps saying this. It makes people suspicious that the McCanns know that the police know something about paedophiles being around, and this is why they keep making the link, right from day one, when they should have been utterly confused about what happened. But as I said above, I think it may be a psychological tactic to hinder open speculation about this.
---------------------------

then this blog is probably too complicated for you to understand…
*****************
The case thoroughly baffles me. I'm constantly amazed that anyone can confidently hold any one particular theory about it for more than a couple of hours. Anyway, thank you for your critical comments.

AGW is very careful of his words, and an irrelevent posting such as one in a foreign language in a known English site ( especially after repeated requests) can be seen as an interruption. Marks not only my words, but I shall emphasise AGW's, succinct to the fullstop.

CM is being over the top in order to avoid trial.
All the anti Mc sentiment on various forums can be used to express
hostility which would make a fair trial impossible.

I personally think that that needs to be amended.
Otherwise every Gerry, Kate, Clarence will use it in future.
Well those with favors to call in at least will.

Any trial is not going to be held here, and one of the advantages of having judges rather than juries is that predjudicial publicity can't derail a trial.

Clarrie knows that perfectly well...
