Madeleine McCann: Tabloid Snap, Metodo 3 PD and McCanns Innocent
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR: “I’M NOT GUILTY”
“A loner who looks like a drawing of a ‘creepy’ Madeleine McCann suspect has denied any links to her disappearance”
Joaquim Agostinho says: “It’s not me in the picture. I accept that the drawing looks like me”
The Mirror reports: “The former cockle picker, who lives in Altura, 90 miles from Praia da Luz, added: ‘I did not kill Madeleine and I’ve never been to Praia da Luz. I cannot even drive’”
But still his picture is in the paper in connection with a story about a missing child. Fingers are pointed
MADELEINE in Chile. What news of that? “Yesterday, police ruled out a “Madeleine” sighting in Chile after the girl was identified as American Haylee Dreyer, six”
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – Amazing lookalike: ‘I did not kidnap and kill her’”
Mr Agostinho looks like an artist’s impression of man whom British tourist Gail Cooper says she saw acting hanging around Praia da Luz. He is the “oddball”
Page 11: “DRIFTER MATCHES NEW MADELEINE SUSPECT”
Matches. Like in a game of snap? Snap! Snap! Snap!
“Investigators want to quiz a Portuguese drifter suspected of involvement in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. Detectives working for the youngster’s parents are to question Joaquim Agostinho, 42, in the resort of Altura”
Does he have to speak with the McCanns detectives?
“Mr Agostinho, who lives in Altura, said yesterday: ‘I did not kill Madeleine and I’ve never been to Praia da Luz. I cannot even drive.’ Altura is close to the Spanish border and detectives from Metodo 3 – the agency working for the McCanns – were last night travelling there from their headquarters in Barcelona”
Again, does he have to speak with private detectives?
THE SUN: “McCANN COPS QUIZ SUSPECT LOOKALIKE”
“Detectives are to quiz a drifter who looks uncannily like a mystery suspect in Maddie McCann’s disappearance. Joaquim Agostinho, 42, denies he is the creepy man depicted in a sketch issued by parents Kate and Gerry McCann
“But Metodo 3, the Spanish private investigators hired by the McCanns, are taking the possibility seriously”
Is Metodo 3 now a police force?
A source close to Metodo 3 says: “We are going to be talking to this man as a priority, to establish if he is the one Mrs Cooper saw”
What of the McCanns?
“COPS now accept Kate and Gerry, both 39, may be innocent in Maddie’s disappearance, it has emerged. They have so far clung to just one theory — that Maddie was accidentally killed and her parents disposed of her body. Now they are taking seriously the alternative that she was snatched from the holiday apartment last May — which Kate and Gerry have always insisted must have happened”
DAILY MAIL: “Is this drifter the man in Madeleine drawing?”
Mr Agostinho says no. He delivers newspapers for a living. He says he is innocent
Metodo 3 are looking to speak with him
DAILY STAR: “MADDIE: THREE MEN RULED OUT – McCanns’ new hopes shattered”
It’s not Joaquim Jose Marques – police have ruled him out; and the Star was so certain
It’s not the girl in Chile – she’s a girl on holiday with her family
It’s not Joaquim Agostinho – he says it’s not him
METRO: “Twins play ‘find Maddie’”
“Leading world sex crimes expert Ray Wyre” has met with Kate and Gerry McCann
He sees the McCanns’ twins children. Wyre tells the paper: “They said they were going to go and find the monster that took Maddie. Then they dashed off to play the game. It’s a sad story, but it is healthy that Madeleine remains a real presence in their lives”
“A spokesman for the McCanns denied the story”
Madeleine McCann: No news is still news

can’t say no 1050- one of the things I have said from the begining is that if David Payne, who I believe organised the trip, had got his thinking cap on he would have asked the group to pool their resources. They could have hired a private villa, own pool, saved money, wined and dined on the patio every evening. Much better option than a shitty apartment in a dark and dank side road!!!!!!Bobs ya uncle ( I know English is not your first language but Bish Bash Bosh, jobs a good un) !!!!!!!

Which might explain the thing which bothers me the most. They are all sticking together and no one (as far as we know of course) has stepped out of line.
Is this because only 4 are fully aware?

Just checked out all your points and I agree that at least on the relatively low definition picture I have, it looks like someone has been smearing pixels around!
Whats the best definition you have of this photo - do you have the whole thing the size of that section of maddie where you can see her hair is for real against the background?
etc etc
Let me in on this one. I could do with another larf!

But did your parents regularly leave you alone at night when you weren’t even 4 years old, in strange surrounding, with your younger siblings? To me this is crazy behaviour. You might think you were that young, but grown-ups have very few memories of before they were 5.

Whats your theories? Was Gerry and the twin pasted - if so, what (who) was there before them as the framing would be ‘all to cock’ if Madeleine was alone. The twin must have been pasted separately to Gerry to explain the missing arm? The arm COULD have been ‘held back ‘ out of sight, if you follow me - but would the sleeve stick out empty like it does? If the twin were pasted joined to Gerry, why mess with the join between them?

Still think the whole saga has an evil twinge to it. Not many photos of the children all together, and Maddy’s hair different lengths. Strange shadows in photos. The one near the pool for instance. The obvious lies from those on the same holiday. For all we know the “detectives” could have seen the farmer, and used him in the photofit picture. Child abusers go to great lengths to keep their trade under wraps!!

Ian is such a brilliant contributor…
I also agree very much with Marie Nicholas. It was very odd, this urgent call for a priest. Even KM’s mother was surprised by it.
The reason Marie suggests makes sense.
As for Ferdinand - is he suggesting that when he was under four he was walking his little sister to a park, without any parental care at all?
If so, no wonder he can’t understand why some of us criticise the McCanns!

Agree with all posters who think the whole thing was premeditated. Looks like it doesn’t it.
Where is that child!!

Can we please also remember that every member of the fated party left children alone. One party, O’Brien Tanner left a 10 month old child with a reportedly sick child. All in the party reportedly left these children alone with no adult supervision, guidance and comfort. The only party that reportedly afforded their children the comfort and support of a baby monitor was David and Fiona Payne!!! W T F !!!!!!!!

I am reacting a bit late. But the need for a priest, to me evokes the last rites.
Traditionnally, a Catholic doesn’t want the one he loves or himself to pass away without receiving the last rites either before death if possible, or after if too late. In France, the name has been changed from “les derniers sacrements” ((the last sacraments) to “the sacrament for the sick” (Le sacrement des malades). It brings comfort to the dying one, according to the church. It helps the soul to give itself to God. A catholic sees a sacrament as a living symbol of the presence of God. It is given by a man (the priest) but is seen as an actual gift from God.
When I heard K MC wanted a priest, I thought she didn’t want her daughter to go without the last rites. Which made me think that the little girl had passed away, and that her mother didn’t want her death. It is only my interpretation. I was brought up a Catholic, the old fashionned way. (But religion was passed on me by such a loving Grand-Mère that if God exists, I am sure of his/her kindness. The only problem being : does he/she exist? )
———————————————————————————————————————————–
Yes, I was baptised a Catholic and educated at a Catholic school, I am not a practising Catholic now and am really of no religious persuasion but having been taught the Catholic faith I would presume KMcC asking for a priest implied M was dead or dying. If I thought my child had been abducted my first reaction would be the police not the priest. I think the police would be of more help unless I had to confess something of course…..

“Do you have children?
”
I have never left mine alone, ever.
The mccanns are a typical example of careless parents.
oh….I forgot! did they leave Madeleine “in charge” of the twins? and she just disappeared….
I had been allowed very early to walk to the nearby playing ground alone. That was several years ago. I even was “in charge” of my younger sister, as you might call it. This might be questionable in our days, but it doesn’t constitute a crime.
January 28th, 2008 at 9:45 pm
Then ,there is the night ,of 2 of May , when tehy were left alone ,and a child cried for daddy , untill they arrive
