Madeleine McCann: Tabloid Snap, Metodo 3 PD and McCanns Innocent
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MIRROR: “I’M NOT GUILTY”
“A loner who looks like a drawing of a ‘creepy’ Madeleine McCann suspect has denied any links to her disappearance”
Joaquim Agostinho says: “It’s not me in the picture. I accept that the drawing looks like me”
The Mirror reports: “The former cockle picker, who lives in Altura, 90 miles from Praia da Luz, added: ‘I did not kill Madeleine and I’ve never been to Praia da Luz. I cannot even drive’”
But still his picture is in the paper in connection with a story about a missing child. Fingers are pointed
MADELEINE in Chile. What news of that? “Yesterday, police ruled out a “Madeleine” sighting in Chile after the girl was identified as American Haylee Dreyer, six”
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – Amazing lookalike: ‘I did not kidnap and kill her’”
Mr Agostinho looks like an artist’s impression of man whom British tourist Gail Cooper says she saw acting hanging around Praia da Luz. He is the “oddball”
Page 11: “DRIFTER MATCHES NEW MADELEINE SUSPECT”
Matches. Like in a game of snap? Snap! Snap! Snap!
“Investigators want to quiz a Portuguese drifter suspected of involvement in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. Detectives working for the youngster’s parents are to question Joaquim Agostinho, 42, in the resort of Altura”
Does he have to speak with the McCanns detectives?
“Mr Agostinho, who lives in Altura, said yesterday: ‘I did not kill Madeleine and I’ve never been to Praia da Luz. I cannot even drive.’ Altura is close to the Spanish border and detectives from Metodo 3 – the agency working for the McCanns – were last night travelling there from their headquarters in Barcelona”
Again, does he have to speak with private detectives?
THE SUN: “McCANN COPS QUIZ SUSPECT LOOKALIKE”
“Detectives are to quiz a drifter who looks uncannily like a mystery suspect in Maddie McCann’s disappearance. Joaquim Agostinho, 42, denies he is the creepy man depicted in a sketch issued by parents Kate and Gerry McCann
“But Metodo 3, the Spanish private investigators hired by the McCanns, are taking the possibility seriously”
Is Metodo 3 now a police force?
A source close to Metodo 3 says: “We are going to be talking to this man as a priority, to establish if he is the one Mrs Cooper saw”
What of the McCanns?
“COPS now accept Kate and Gerry, both 39, may be innocent in Maddie’s disappearance, it has emerged. They have so far clung to just one theory — that Maddie was accidentally killed and her parents disposed of her body. Now they are taking seriously the alternative that she was snatched from the holiday apartment last May — which Kate and Gerry have always insisted must have happened”
DAILY MAIL: “Is this drifter the man in Madeleine drawing?”
Mr Agostinho says no. He delivers newspapers for a living. He says he is innocent
Metodo 3 are looking to speak with him
DAILY STAR: “MADDIE: THREE MEN RULED OUT – McCanns’ new hopes shattered”
It’s not Joaquim Jose Marques – police have ruled him out; and the Star was so certain
It’s not the girl in Chile – she’s a girl on holiday with her family
It’s not Joaquim Agostinho – he says it’s not him
METRO: “Twins play ‘find Maddie’”
“Leading world sex crimes expert Ray Wyre” has met with Kate and Gerry McCann
He sees the McCanns’ twins children. Wyre tells the paper: “They said they were going to go and find the monster that took Maddie. Then they dashed off to play the game. It’s a sad story, but it is healthy that Madeleine remains a real presence in their lives”
“A spokesman for the McCanns denied the story”
Madeleine McCann: No news is still news

Errrmmmm sorry?
The Anglican Vicar of Praia de Luz and his wife lied about a window?
I’d love to see a link supporting that……

“Perhaps they saw the writing on the wall, they were aware that they were going to be made formal suspects, the police had changed toward them”
but it thoroughly negates your claim that they fled on being made suspects, doesn’t it…..
Stuck your neck out rather a long way on that, didn’t you?

This has probably been mentioned before but I haven’t noticed it on here. Has anyone seen the resemblance between Philomena and Gail Cooper? They could be sisters or cousins. Quite incredible, dead ringers.

Your always full of useful information. Could you be a good cock and tell me what all the evidence the authorities have against the McCanns proving they are guilty just might be?
I’ll tell you what. Dont bother with ‘all’ , just give us a couple factual evidence as a starter.
Should be fun……….
January 28th, 2008 at 6:02 pm
“..I understand that the dogs were “instructed” specifically to look for evidence in the McCann’s car, so they were biased through the instructions of their leaders. That’s OK as far as the alert itself is not regarded as evidence, but only the traces they might have actually found…”
Quite.
Except, the act of biasing the dogs in that way calls into question the objectivity and fairness of the investigation, doesn’t it?

“”"”And there you have another example of why you’re not cut out to be a lawyer…..McCann wasn’t present at the search, and there’s nothing in that evidence to suggest he was. We can speculate who it was that was talking to the Journalist, but it wasn’t McCann - my bet is a Leicestershire Police liason officer, who we do know were present - but that’s speculation.”"”"
You are as usual talking bumkum regarding this.

If you did somehoe steal that qualification you claim, I can see why you never put it to use!
Perhaps they saw the writing on the wall, they were aware that they were going to be made formal suspects, the police had changed toward them - a chill was descending and they realised they were for the high jump.
I remember the time well, there was much speculation but I recall them categorically stating they’d not leave without Madeleine. I recall thinking, ‘they’ll never go, it would look terrible’…..
Surely after being made suspects, they must have realised it would delay and impact the search for madeleine, their number one aim in life? Nothing would come between them and that search….
But a little risk to the McCann hides….wooooshhhhh…………

“(I hope Mods and Admin take you up on that - crumbs, if you did have such a qualification - I can relax!).”
Not on the basis of your performance here - I’ve yet to see you demonstrate the ability to support an argument.
“Gerry is a suspect and his word is hardly unbiased witness testimony is it (you sure you arent sledgehammer?).”
And there you have another example of why you’re not cut out to be a lawyer…..McCann wasn’t present at the search, and there’s nothing in that evidence to suggest he was. We can speculate who it was that was talking to the Journalist, but it wasn’t McCann - my bet is a Leicestershire Police liason officer, who we do know were present - but that’s speculation.
So, if you’ve evidence that he was - feel free to present it.
Try making unsupported assumptions like that in making a legal argument, you’ll be shredded every time. Just like you did about the departure. Can you, for example, produce evidence that the tickets were booked at the last minute?

Day 270 and where is the investigation, no charges, no arrests and no evidence. The evidence part despite the PJ claiming, they had a good idea of what happened, before the first set of evidence papers was submitted. The magistrate begged to differ on that point, after reading the evidence collated by the PJ, he advised that they would have to come up with a lot better than they had, it would also appear that the two main suspects appear to have left the jurisdiction of the Portuguese, with the blessing of the Portuguese authorities. Is this incompetence or lack of evidence, that has allowed this to happen. Perhaps certain Anorakians can supply the evidence that the PJ appear incapable of doing so, that is the Anorakians who have acted as judge and jury and have found the McCanns guilty of being implicated or responsible for the disappearance of Madeleine.

“It might be said that as soon as they were made suspects they fled ‘like rats out of an aquaduct’ (quote pinched from Monty Pythons ‘Life of Brian’) and the tears flowed for the first time (from Gerry’s eyes).”
Except that, here in the real world, there’s eyewitness testimony that deomnstrates that the McCanns depature date was set BEFORE they were made suspects - and if anything, it looks as though the Police decision to move then was determined by that departure date
Again, the Sunday Times 16/12/07
“That week in Praia da Luz, the week the McCanns were made suspects in their own daughter’s “death”, I was out there talking to them and to family and friends. I was at the home of the Anglican vicar Haynes Hubbard, sitting with him and his wife, Susan, while their own three children pottered around us. The Hubbards had flown in from Canada three days after Madeleine’s disappearance to begin Haynes’s tour of duty as the vicar of Praia da Luz. They had heard about Madeleine for the first time while changing planes at Lisbon airport, in a slightly unnerving encounter with an elderly Portuguese woman who had seized Susan’s arm and told her to “hold on” to the baby she was carrying, as a child had been taken.
The Hubbards had spent their first days at the resort fearing for their own children’s safety. Gradually they became friends with the McCanns, particularly Susan and Kate, drawn together at first perhaps by the McCanns’ need to find some comfort in religion. But mostly in Portugal the McCanns were enveloped by family and friends from the UK.
The McCanns were flying home that Sunday and had been to a farewell dinner that week at the Hubbards’. Susan told me that she and Kate had discussed how much one person could cope with. Kate seemed close to the limits of human endurance. Haynes chimed in: “And I don’t think she’s looking forward to tomorrow very much either.” The thought was left hanging there: how much can one person take?
Kate was to go to the nearby town of Portimao the next day, Thursday, September 6, to be questioned by detectives from the Policia Judiciaria (PJ). It would be Gerry’s turn the day after…… ”
So, the Anglican vicar and his wife have confirmed that they’d held this farewell dinner BEFORE the McCanns were made suspects, and that the departure was planned for the weekend on which it happened.
Are you about to call them liars?

Facts that have come thus far from the authorities are well documented already on here. Why should I do the work for you. If you have no eveidence or facts then what is the point in debating with you garth? How can I have a sound argument with someone who has no facts or proof so far and only an opinion based on what they have read in the paper?
Anyway. I’ve got a train to catch. Nighty night all.

Regarding the more serious issue, this is unsubstantiated rubbish that you post. Gerry is a suspect and his word is hardly unbiased witness testimony is it (you sure you arent sledgehammer?).
So after the british dogs indicated to the british handler (I wonder why he wanted to stitch up the McCanns?) someone put Maddies ‘fluids’ into the car?

Surely her drawing didn’t come to life, but something alive became her drawing…
