Madeleine McCann: Four, Three Men, DNAboost And Risk
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY STAR: “Cops slam pics of Maddie suspects – Innocent people are put at ‘risk’”
“Four” people who look like the drawings inspired by holidaymaker Gail Cooper have now been questioned by police
So says the Star. Although on closer inspection Jose Marques plus Joaquim Agostinho plus a Portuguese builder in Gibraltar makes three, not four
Celebrity criminologist Francisco Moita Flores says: “It is manipulation and propaganda.” No, not the Star’s reporting, rather the sketches
DAILY MAIL: “Fourth man questioned in Maddie e-fit probe”
When is an e-fit a drawing? Compare and contrast
The Mail sees the Portuguese builder questioned and then freed. “At least” three other men have been questioned
THE SUN: “SUPER DNA ‘WILL CLEAR McCANNS – They welcome new-style forensic tests”
A tiny sample is, reportedly, found in the McCanns’ Renault Scenic hire car. How did it get there? From her clothes, say the McCanns. “Another theory was that Maddie’s younger brother and sister may have similar DNA,” says the Sun
And there’s a new test. It’s called DNAboost. DNAboost “can separate or ‘clarify’ profiles and unravel tiny samples”
With DNAboost what you thought had gone comes back with a bang!
DAILY MIRROR (online): “McCann pics fury”
Always the “fury”
Police in Portugal “claim Kate and Gerry McCann are hindering the probe into missing Madeleine by releasing sketches of the possible kidnapper.
One detective says the drawings were too vague and could “identify dozens or hundreds of people”
“But McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell hinted more sketches could be on the way ‘if we get any more information’”
THE INDEPENDENT: “Alastair Campbell: The Cudlipp Lecture”
“In an era of more pages, more space, more access, more talk, there is less said and done that is truly memorable. Even in Dacre’s apologia he could only draw on Stephen Lawrence – again - as the story where he felt the Mail made an impact and did some good. Similarly, in his Mactaggart Lecture Jeremy Paxman said the BBC constantly pointed to Planet Earth as evidence of good TV combining with good ratings, but did so precisely because it is a rarity. And with every front page screaming headline that doesn’t quite deliver the big story, every exclusive that isn’t, every whooshing breaking news that isn’t really breaking news at all, every new twist in the McCann case that isn’t a new twist at all, the public gets a little wiser every time”
We recognise the spin, says Mr Campbell – “Media spin to fill media space.” And we might even recognise the irony…

IMHO these people are making themselves look guilty as hell by trying to take down sites which are discussing MM. Just another little nail in their coffin.

Well coolandcalm seemed positive that there could be no link as GC is ‘ordinary’. But can imagine the rumour has been picked up and those who can easily check, will do so.
But striking girls in their twenties can turn into the most ‘ordinary’ of people in their 50’s, and of course vice versa, and the same can apply to men, he may not have been the high flyer of today then, perhaps not even qualified then.

Whouldn’t be great ,if those who are in the U.K. ,begin a REAL surch ,for ALL the connections in this case. It’s easyear for them ,then for us ,that are in Portugal

That kind of puts a spanner in the works! for anyone trying to change the story to a “larger” window of oportunity doesn’t it ? ie your theory about gerrys blog changing the Tanner siting to 9.10 ?

Hi!
Regarding…
‘The McCanns had NOT been to PDL previously (common info from them at the time)’
I know Kate definately said she’d never been to Portugal before…but I had an odd idea from somewhere that a flower shop had a recollection of her being ‘cold and aloof - and this was from a visit the year previously?

Like you, I want it to be said that the need for safety of a little child comes first, and that it is wrong to neglect children the way the doctors’s children were neglected. But it is not the only important thing there, according to me.
It is important that the truth comes out, because :
I) We can’t let the press not do their work properly, take the readers for idiots, and cynically manipulate opinion . A democracy will only work if the voters have a minimum of understanding and knowledge. People spend hours everyday watching TV, they are turned into mindless puppets, and are led to always chose the easy way, the fashinnable idea, the politically correct explanation.
II) A crime has taken place in Portugal. The Portuguese have spent a lot of money, a lot of time, a lot of efforts to try and solve it. They have been insulted and slandered. It is only fair and honest to let them defend their honour, therefore let them ask questions from the witnesses and complete their investigation.
III) And because : the truth must be found and said, because… it is the truth. Lies pollute and asphyxiate society. I don’t want to live in a polluted, asphyxiated society.

the attempt were picked up by our security team at the hosts.
rest assured it was a terrible mistake by those HTFM to try and by doing so they only risk losing their website encouraging these attacks.
the hosts are taking the matter very very seriously and its another victory for us.
the downtime was only due to us moving server but their attempts were picked up and logged and being delt with.

There is also someone on a MF spinoff site masquerading as someone from 3A’s Admin and spreading all sorts of rumours.
Oh well. It livens up another no-news day.
