Madeleine McCann: Four, Three Men, DNAboost And Risk
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY STAR: “Cops slam pics of Maddie suspects – Innocent people are put at ‘risk’”
“Four” people who look like the drawings inspired by holidaymaker Gail Cooper have now been questioned by police
So says the Star. Although on closer inspection Jose Marques plus Joaquim Agostinho plus a Portuguese builder in Gibraltar makes three, not four
Celebrity criminologist Francisco Moita Flores says: “It is manipulation and propaganda.” No, not the Star’s reporting, rather the sketches
DAILY MAIL: “Fourth man questioned in Maddie e-fit probe”
When is an e-fit a drawing? Compare and contrast
The Mail sees the Portuguese builder questioned and then freed. “At least” three other men have been questioned
THE SUN: “SUPER DNA ‘WILL CLEAR McCANNS – They welcome new-style forensic tests”
A tiny sample is, reportedly, found in the McCanns’ Renault Scenic hire car. How did it get there? From her clothes, say the McCanns. “Another theory was that Maddie’s younger brother and sister may have similar DNA,” says the Sun
And there’s a new test. It’s called DNAboost. DNAboost “can separate or ‘clarify’ profiles and unravel tiny samples”
With DNAboost what you thought had gone comes back with a bang!
DAILY MIRROR (online): “McCann pics fury”
Always the “fury”
Police in Portugal “claim Kate and Gerry McCann are hindering the probe into missing Madeleine by releasing sketches of the possible kidnapper.
One detective says the drawings were too vague and could “identify dozens or hundreds of people”
“But McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell hinted more sketches could be on the way ‘if we get any more information’”
THE INDEPENDENT: “Alastair Campbell: The Cudlipp Lecture”
“In an era of more pages, more space, more access, more talk, there is less said and done that is truly memorable. Even in Dacre’s apologia he could only draw on Stephen Lawrence – again - as the story where he felt the Mail made an impact and did some good. Similarly, in his Mactaggart Lecture Jeremy Paxman said the BBC constantly pointed to Planet Earth as evidence of good TV combining with good ratings, but did so precisely because it is a rarity. And with every front page screaming headline that doesn’t quite deliver the big story, every exclusive that isn’t, every whooshing breaking news that isn’t really breaking news at all, every new twist in the McCann case that isn’t a new twist at all, the public gets a little wiser every time”
We recognise the spin, says Mr Campbell – “Media spin to fill media space.” And we might even recognise the irony…

go on then garfy what exactly do you call it? And what exactly are you defending?

Looking at that last photo…
At that age, the proportions of features of a child’s face can change quite dramatically and rapidly over a short time. The same for the ratio of the torso to body height.
But not within a few days. If the pool photo is the ‘last photo’, then it would seem to me that Maddie had somehow become younger by some 6 months since the ‘tennis balls’ photo.

Why would anyone spend hours here protecting parents who failed a child, parents who have the support of millionaires?
Clarence is paid - he does it to survive.
What is the motivation of sledgehammer and garth?

So what? We know that version of events. And it COULD BE just a ‘version’, after all. Depends whose doing the telling - as in all things.
I will keep an open mind, though, if YOU will!!!!

Good Evening all, having a nice friendly debate are you???

Let me se, failed parents?
A missing child who should be protected but has probably had her life snuffed out before she was 4?
You are despicable in your defence.

Ian, we know they are responsible for neglect and have never denied that, rank amateur parenting if you ask me, but that does not make them anything else, if they are the Law will take its course.
January 29th, 2008 at 8:43 pm
And to fink. A few of the antis ( especially the anti social ones) think that the McCanns were down chaplins having a few. I mean come on ffs. We know the McCanns claimed they only used the tapas bar. Well they McCanns are hardly going to claim they used the tapas bar every night if they went elsewhere are they really, you know, with all the staff there to back up their alibi.

Sledgehammer,
The only lynch mob, that I can assume you refer to, are those who refuse to explain the obvious.
No person who lost a child like this case would react in such a manner.
You claim no guilt has been yet proved and you are correct in that, for that is a fact.
But in a case like this, which is unlike most of us have seen, would you not concede a proportion of that guilt was self inflicted due to constant conflicting stories and refusal to answer questions.
Your answer to this may well be filled with buts and wherefores.
And because of that the “barmy brigade” continue to question.

Spare a thought for the child - whatever happened, the McCanns are responsible - go on, deny that she was in their care and they failed her.

Ciara-Louise, no my dear, you would be most welcome at The Order of The Eastern Star, which is strictly for Ladies.
January 29th, 2008 at 8:38 pm
And the ‘eggman’? Brilliant sketch. And by whom? A bleedin shop owner who drew it as he remembered the PJ presenting it to him. I mean, how daft are the PJ going around with a sketch like that?

man on a hill, I take it you are referring to the oodles of evidence, that the PJ do not have to not arrest Mr. & Mrs. McCann. Plus the non existent magical letters of the rubber variety.

Wouldnt it of been easier to take the afternoon in a sailing boat or somefing. You know, they could have said Madeliene was there one minute and the next we knew she went gone. By the time Gerry had dived in it was too late. Just a thought……….

Would I be welcome at your little gatherings? I’ve always been curious as to what goes on…….oh, and I wouldn’t tell anyone.
January 29th, 2008 at 8:32 pm
I’ll do it by myself
Of course the obvious thing to do if you accidentally killed your daughter would be to try and cover up like any normal family. But then we dont seem to have a normal family here evidently.
The McCanns thought it better to wait till the night of the 3rd May to fabricate an abduction and then conceal her body for 26 days whilst they tried to gain as much public attention as possible and then remove her body in a car they bleedin hired! Clever bleeders arent they?

I wish you would shut up about anti’s having a lynch mob mentality just because their aware enough to trust what they hear and see. Play another record please.

I’ll debate it with you if you want to try and make some sense out of these claims

You’re just saying that Garth because you presume and hope Stevo is not around. You’ve never really debated anything.

Ciara-Louise, I do not know my dear, but I do know that Mr. McCann is not a Brother.
January 29th, 2008 at 8:27 pm
Michael, what a long and winding road you took, end result you think they are guilty without conclusive evidence, another member of the barmy brigade. Innocent until proven otherwise is their right same as the rest of us, it does not mean we are defending them, we are defending Justice for all, against the lynch mob.
January 29th, 2008 at 8:26 pm
And stevo, no offence mate but all this rubbish about dodgy photos etc and Madeliene actually having a fatal accident prior to 3rd of May is laughable.
I’ll debate it with you if you want to try and make some sense out of these claims
