Madeleine McCann: Four, Three Men, DNAboost And Risk
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY STAR: “Cops slam pics of Maddie suspects – Innocent people are put at ‘risk’”
“Four” people who look like the drawings inspired by holidaymaker Gail Cooper have now been questioned by police
So says the Star. Although on closer inspection Jose Marques plus Joaquim Agostinho plus a Portuguese builder in Gibraltar makes three, not four
Celebrity criminologist Francisco Moita Flores says: “It is manipulation and propaganda.” No, not the Star’s reporting, rather the sketches
DAILY MAIL: “Fourth man questioned in Maddie e-fit probe”
When is an e-fit a drawing? Compare and contrast
The Mail sees the Portuguese builder questioned and then freed. “At least” three other men have been questioned
THE SUN: “SUPER DNA ‘WILL CLEAR McCANNS – They welcome new-style forensic tests”
A tiny sample is, reportedly, found in the McCanns’ Renault Scenic hire car. How did it get there? From her clothes, say the McCanns. “Another theory was that Maddie’s younger brother and sister may have similar DNA,” says the Sun
And there’s a new test. It’s called DNAboost. DNAboost “can separate or ‘clarify’ profiles and unravel tiny samples”
With DNAboost what you thought had gone comes back with a bang!
DAILY MIRROR (online): “McCann pics fury”
Always the “fury”
Police in Portugal “claim Kate and Gerry McCann are hindering the probe into missing Madeleine by releasing sketches of the possible kidnapper.
One detective says the drawings were too vague and could “identify dozens or hundreds of people”
“But McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell hinted more sketches could be on the way ‘if we get any more information’”
THE INDEPENDENT: “Alastair Campbell: The Cudlipp Lecture”
“In an era of more pages, more space, more access, more talk, there is less said and done that is truly memorable. Even in Dacre’s apologia he could only draw on Stephen Lawrence – again - as the story where he felt the Mail made an impact and did some good. Similarly, in his Mactaggart Lecture Jeremy Paxman said the BBC constantly pointed to Planet Earth as evidence of good TV combining with good ratings, but did so precisely because it is a rarity. And with every front page screaming headline that doesn’t quite deliver the big story, every exclusive that isn’t, every whooshing breaking news that isn’t really breaking news at all, every new twist in the McCann case that isn’t a new twist at all, the public gets a little wiser every time”
We recognise the spin, says Mr Campbell – “Media spin to fill media space.” And we might even recognise the irony…
Madeleine McCann: A media feeding frenzy

“Mrs Cooper told detectives she saw ‘a strange-looking man’ loitering near the McCanns’ holiday apartment on three separate occasions on the night Madeleine vanished.”
such blatant misreporting is outrageous
She must have fantastic eyesight! She wasn’t even in Portugal on 3 May - she was back home in Blighty!

What you just discovered is very important. I wish all the newspapers mentionned it.
It is now obvious that the witnesses aren’t simple passer-bys, and since they omit mentionning it, it is a proof that they are helping at the diversion the PJ talks about.
Many doctors in PdL at this time of the year.
**********************************
I agree with you about the witnesses no being simple passers-by. The witnesses are all connected to whomever is behind Team McCann, imho.
That explains why they are willing to be public witnesses. It is one thing to report something to the police back in May 2007, but it is another to step forward 8 or 9 months later and re-report the account to the press, with the implication that the police did not do enough. That is doing exactly what Team McCann wants. And it is obstruction of justice, IMO.
If X had made her report to the police, she had no need to say anything more to anyone. Since she decided to come forward publicly in this way “helpful” to the McCanns, IMO she and her family should be subject to intense scrutiny, looking for possible conflict of interest and clues to the cover-up.
Same thing with the other witnesses. Supposedly Paul Gordon returned from Portugal to Fareham, but why are his principle activities in Sheffield and Oldham?
X2? Her husband X2, who once worked for the Royal Mail, created a limited company in mid-July, 2007. X2 herself is now the PR person for Cascade Ice, a maker of ice rinks that also relies on contracts by local governments. Interesting how so many of the people at PDL are involved in PR and the media.
X is interesting because apparently he is such a top dog that he was given a villa to stay in, rather than an apartment. This is the villa first mentioned in press reports, said to be “600 yards” from apartment 5a. And yet Clarence Mitchell changed that by making his own statements, claiming X saw the creepy villain at the resort, “yards away” from the McCann’s apartment. If there is some truth in this spin, then X was spending time both at the villa and at the apartments.
Makes you wonder exactly how many people were on this junket to Portugual? Many, many, apparently. Who was their sponsor? Poor Gerry and Kate.

Did they ever answer you?
No of course not. Everything but. Just like a politician. Twisted everything without just saying no or admitting the truth. Of course you can pick holes in the investigation but the simple fact of the matter is there is no proof of an abduction so there is no point in arguing in the defense of the mccanns unless there is. There is far more eveidence or potential evidence, gathered by the authorities, which even, because of a technicality points the finger at the McCanns. i personally think they will get off scott free. Everthing points towards them but they have done such a good job at getting out of it they will get away with whatever happened becuase of a fraction of a percentage point of a dna sample wasn’t quite there. Of course noone wants to see innocent poeple get done for soemthing they haven’t done but when you look at everyhting that is going on here it’s blindingly obvious that they knopw what’s happened but will not come out with it. The only thing i’m really gutted about is that they will not be brought to task about leaving the kids alone. It’s the only thing that really keeps me interested in this case, even thoough I think they will get away with everything i will be here until I see the end result. if they did not do anythign to that girl they are, in my mind, guilty of neglect and are totally responsible for what has happened the moment they shut the door behind them. There is not one excuse for that. Not one. The worse thing they ever did was to publicly announce that they’ve done nothing wrong. That was the moment the puclic turned against them and still to this day I want to see them flogged until they admit thay are wrong. No matter how much they think they’re ok parents they are not. They might have money, big houses, connections but they are certainly not rich in parenting skills. They lost their daughter through their actions. They have only and will only ever have themselves to blame and no, it’s not enough, the loss they suffer, to be punishment enough, especially when they have the arrogance and downright gumption to tell us otherwise because it sends out the wrong signals to ANY parent thinking of doing the same. They should be so ashamed of themselves but they are not. I hope they suffer ntmares for every living night they sleep and I really hope they did unhappy, probably just like their poor little girl did.

Controversy: Impasse in the investigation for bad collaboration
English do not reply
It’s been more than 20 days since the Public prosecution service and the Judiciary received the notice of reception of the rogatory letters, but the CM knows that, since then, there was no answer from the British authorities regarding the interrogations to the four couples friends of the McCanns. There are still personal objects of Kate and Gerry to apprehend and the whole investigation is being delayed.
The dozens of questions to be done to these eight potential witnesses were thoroughly prepared by the persons in charge of the PJ at the head of the case – always in articulation and with the agreement of English investigators. The process was also stalled for months, so that all the legal roads were followed in the sending of the letters, through the General Prosecution Service of the Portuguese Republic.
The documents followed finally in the beginning of the year – and, at the middle of this month, the investigators of the PJ were already finding the silence of England odd, as the CM advanced at the time. Now, almost in February, we know that there is no green light to explore the different and obvious contradictions between the friends of Maddie’s parents, the first time in which they were heard, in what concerns the night of the crime.
