Madeleine McCann: Four, Three Men, DNAboost And Risk
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY STAR: “Cops slam pics of Maddie suspects – Innocent people are put at ‘risk’”
“Four” people who look like the drawings inspired by holidaymaker Gail Cooper have now been questioned by police
So says the Star. Although on closer inspection Jose Marques plus Joaquim Agostinho plus a Portuguese builder in Gibraltar makes three, not four
Celebrity criminologist Francisco Moita Flores says: “It is manipulation and propaganda.” No, not the Star’s reporting, rather the sketches
DAILY MAIL: “Fourth man questioned in Maddie e-fit probe”
When is an e-fit a drawing? Compare and contrast
The Mail sees the Portuguese builder questioned and then freed. “At least” three other men have been questioned
THE SUN: “SUPER DNA ‘WILL CLEAR McCANNS – They welcome new-style forensic tests”
A tiny sample is, reportedly, found in the McCanns’ Renault Scenic hire car. How did it get there? From her clothes, say the McCanns. “Another theory was that Maddie’s younger brother and sister may have similar DNA,” says the Sun
And there’s a new test. It’s called DNAboost. DNAboost “can separate or ‘clarify’ profiles and unravel tiny samples”
With DNAboost what you thought had gone comes back with a bang!
DAILY MIRROR (online): “McCann pics fury”
Always the “fury”
Police in Portugal “claim Kate and Gerry McCann are hindering the probe into missing Madeleine by releasing sketches of the possible kidnapper.
One detective says the drawings were too vague and could “identify dozens or hundreds of people”
“But McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell hinted more sketches could be on the way ‘if we get any more information’”
THE INDEPENDENT: “Alastair Campbell: The Cudlipp Lecture”
“In an era of more pages, more space, more access, more talk, there is less said and done that is truly memorable. Even in Dacre’s apologia he could only draw on Stephen Lawrence – again - as the story where he felt the Mail made an impact and did some good. Similarly, in his Mactaggart Lecture Jeremy Paxman said the BBC constantly pointed to Planet Earth as evidence of good TV combining with good ratings, but did so precisely because it is a rarity. And with every front page screaming headline that doesn’t quite deliver the big story, every exclusive that isn’t, every whooshing breaking news that isn’t really breaking news at all, every new twist in the McCann case that isn’t a new twist at all, the public gets a little wiser every time”
We recognise the spin, says Mr Campbell – “Media spin to fill media space.” And we might even recognise the irony…

Aren”t we all on this Forum………..trouble is it is taking so long for the PJ to make a charge, the McCanns are making the most of it by constantly hitting the Headlines through CM. and there is a danger the aguido status will be dropped. Apparently, they took four months to gather all the details together and were meticulous in their preparation to present their
request to the Home Office. A long time wouldn”t you say to present the evidence ?

I bow to your superior knowledge of the Spanish Press. Just wish some investigative
journalist would be brave enough to find the truth and the Editor be brave enough to publish
Here in the U. K. the public is fed up with all the rubbish printed and sadly, no longer interested in what happend to little Madeleine, as I suspect is most of Europe .

According to today’s D. Express, the PJs are furious that the Home Office have not acted on the MLA request. The HO say they’ve received no papers!
The McCs are reported to be very frustrated at this bureaucratic mix-up and the inevitable delay.
Well, message first to the PJs. Send everything recorded delivery. In this country the government has a track record of losing things. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they lose the Leicestershire Police just when you need them most!
And a message to the McCs. If you are so frustrated, book yourself a night in a Portuguese hotel and a flight for you and your friends. Go get this mess sorted out.
I am sure that we can, on this site, raise sufficient funds to compensate you for expenses and loss of earnings.
At least then things will move forward as you want them to. The PJ will be forced to remove you from their list of suspects as you clear up those inconsistencies and they can then focus their efforts on finding your daughter. That is what you want isn’t it, Mr and Mrs McC?
The PJs are forced into bureaucracy. They cannot avoid it. Nr can the HO. Only you, my dear McCs can avoid all this red tape. Get yourself over there, helping the police. If Maddy comes home their are plenty of people in Rothley that can look after her while your away.
If you are worried about the treatment you might receive then just remember, the world’s media, the people of the world and one or two anorak posters, will all be looking out for you.
So you really have nothing to fear and everything to gain by jumping on that plane and giving as much assistance and answers as you can.
Or do you have something to fear?

I am a two fingered typist and it takes so long for me to send a post the recipient has left the
site, as happened with you last night and Peter O just now !!!!!!
You havn”t missed much, the usual Tantric sex between Red Rooster and Ciara Louise……
it”s becoming quite tiresome now , plus of course the abuse between certain posters.

The SUN
“Family spokesman Clarence Mitchell said the McCanns, both 39, of Rothley, Leics, want the interviews to happen soon so the hunt can move on.”
***************
The hunt? for what? I just cant believe this git is still playing his “make believe” games….If the “poor” parents want to have the interview,,ehy dont they go to portugal and rally COOPERATE with the PJ????
oh…I see…are they scared NOT to go back to the uk then?
————————————————————–
I wonder what would happen if the PJ arrived in the UK and asked the T7 etc to voluntarily answer the questions??
I don’t see how the UK authorities could block such a move, the PJ could just wave a copy of Clarries statement at them saying they are just responding to a request made by the McCanns.

I don’t think the Spanish press is paying too much attention to the matter. Although newspapers like El Mundo, El País, ABC, etc. are usually fairly reliable in respect of facts (in spite of their very varied political inclinations and interpretations), I would think they are probably using agencies, rather then getting their information on the Madeleine case directly.
