Yes, and it would be very easy for the authorities to not disclose anything about it. How difficult is it for an investigating journalist to check such a connection, and confirm the non-relation? I’d say not too difficult. But no one did it.
Some things are only revealed by omissions.

Yes, I accept your point, but on another level that apartment was said to be a part of Ocean Club Resort, though it is outside the resort gates. That would mean “Mrs. McCann” is leasing the apartment to Ocean Club Resort, and the resort then renting it out to guests. This arrangement actually makes the “coincidence” even stranger. For it means that a McCann has an on-going business relationship with that resort — though as you say it is claimed that this McCann and that McCann are not relations. I wonder if there is a way to spin that about “relations”…

One point on that, Kate McCann told Womans Hour that she had not been to Portugal before, in her own voice her own words. So that statement is 100% ‘evidence’ of what she herself said.

I seem to remember this as well. Something else to look for… if Kate had been there, then she was lying to Womans Hour. Unless of course she meant that she had never been to Portugual before the first time she went there.

On Joanna Morai’s blog it claims that the rogatory letters have not left Portugal but are being held up by the Prosecutors office in Lisbon.
It mentions the frustration of the PR and speaks of a cover up that extends way beyond Britain.

I agree and have voiced the same opinion before now. If the PJ ever get to interview the
Tapas 9 again it will be interesting to know how their original Statements differ from the
Waiters and Bar Staff whom I believe will prove more credible.

The McCanns said that they chose to holiday in PDL partly because they liked it the last time they were there. At least, that is what I remember reading in several different news accounts last year. I could check my archives, but those items may have been later edited.
Compare Gail Cooper’s remark (made to her local newspaper) that the Coopers holiday there 3 or 4 times a year.
The easiest way to explore this general question would be to look into the villa at which Creepy Man was said by Gail Cooper to ring the door bell. That villa was said to be 600 yards from the McCanns’ apartment, (then the figure was reduced to 500 yards). Simple question: who owns that villa?
Do the Coopers own it, and use it for their frequent trips to Portugual, or is it owned by Ocean Club Resort and rented out to the Coopers — or to somebody who then permits the Coopers to use it? Or, do the Coopers stay at different places each time they visit, renting on their own?
I don’t understand why Rober Murat’s villa, only 100 yards away, has been shown on maps, but the Cooper villa has not. Obviously, if a suspicious man was spotted there, the location is paramount.
Remember, Murat has an Exeter connection, just like Russell O’Brien and Jane Tanner. Gerry McCann refused to acknowledge knowing Murat. (clears throat) Could the McCann/Murat acquaintance have been a long-term one involving frequent trips to Portugual over the years?
Clarence Mitchell later made statements that the creepy man was spotted “just yards” from the McCanns’ apartment, “at the resort”. So this is not a trivial detail: if the villa is privately owned, then Clarence Mitchell is not just spinning, he is lying. Assuming he is not lying, then the villa is owned by Ocean Club Resort, though it is 500-600 yards away from the resort’s gate.
Now, Stevo, I realize you are interested in the McCanns possible prior visits from the point of view of photo analysis. The bottom line is that even if I dredge up those articles that have the McCanns stating they were previously there, it does not say when they were there, and in fact we still wouldn’t know if they were being truthful or not. So it is not going to help your analysis.
We have no way of knowing how many times they have been there. They could have been staying there several times a year, like the Coopers.
To pursue this, IMO, one would first have to find out who was renting the T9 apartments and then further to find out what other apartments/properties they are renting, or they own. I think it is virtually impossible that the T9 each rented their own apartments.
But I don’t have any way to delve deeper into this subject without talking about all of the people who were staying there, including the “helpful” witnesses. However, posts disclosing information about them have been deleted, even when such information is available by Googling, and so I am going to drop the subject on this forum.
