Madeleine McCann: Alipio Ribeiro’s Thinks, Clarence Mitchell Knows And A Birthday
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY STAR ON SUNDAY: “MADDIE COPS SAYS SORRY – Police ‘too quick’ “to blame parents”
“A top policeman has sensationally admitted that making Gerry and Kate McCann suspects over their daughter Maddie’s disappearance was too ‘hasty’. Alipio Ribeiro, boss of the Portuguese department in charge of the investigation, dropped his bombshell in a radio interview”
Says Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns spokesman: “Now that the national director of the Policia Judiciaria apparently acknowledges that they should never have been made arguidos, it follows there is no case for them to answer.”
SUNDAY EXPRESS: “POLICE ‘TOO HASTY’ OVER MCCANNS”
“As the couple bravely celebrated the third birthday of their twins, Sean and Amelie, one of Portugal’s most senior detectives admitted that making them suspects had been a “hasty” mistake”
Did Mr Alipio Ribeiro say “mistake” in his radio interview?
Says the paper: “The couple, both 39, said the official’s comments were tantamount to an admission that Portuguese detectives had bungled by centring their investigation on them.”
Says Mr Ribeiro to Portugal’s Radio Renascenca, owned by the Catholic Church:
“At this moment in time and speaking with the experience I have of Portugal’s Public Prosecution Service and the constitution of arguidos, I think there perhaps should have been another assessment before the McCanns were made official suspects.
“I don’t have any doubt about that. The national director of the Policia Judiciaria doesn’t give out orders on the constitution of arguidos but there was a certain hastiness”
Says the paper: “Last night Ribeiro was under growing pressure to stand down as national director of their country’s Policia Judiciaria”. Pressure from, whom?
MAIL ON SUNDAY: “”Police chief: We were too quick to make Gerry and Kate ‘arguidos’”
Says the Mail: “Kate and Gerry McCann’s bid to clear their names over the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine has been given a massive boost after the head of Portugal’s police admitted it had been a mistake to rush into making them official suspects”
Mr McCann says: “We need a breakthrough and this looks like it could be one. It is fantastic news. We still have a long way to go but people in Portugal need to understand what has been happening and what we have been going through. We know it will take the police a long time to accept what has been happening is wrong but it is an important step towards that”
Says the McCanns’ lawyer in Portugal, Carlos Pinto de Abreu: “Many people who may have vital information have possibly not come forward as they wrongly suspected the McCanns”
What about that huge reward, and doing the right thing? People may be deterred from coming forward for fear of being named in the media and questioned by Metodo 3, the McCann’s private investigators. But let us not speculate
SUNDAY PEOPLE: “MADDIE U-TURN - EXCLUSIVE Cops admit mistake on twins’ birthday”
“Kate and Gerry McCann threw a birthday bash for their twins yesterday - as a top cop admitted it was WRONG to name them as suspects over missing Maddie”
Well, Policia Judiciaria “boss” Alipio Ribeiro, said the police acted too hasilty. “Ribeiro last night faced calls to resign over the astonishing U-turn” – although from whom, the paper does not bother to say
Say the McCanns: “The support we have had from around the world has been amazing. It’s helped maintain our strength and hope and this has helped the search for our precious Madeleine. We believe there is a very good chance she is still alive. She deserves the love and security of her family. She needs to be back home with her mummy and daddy, brother and sister”
THE GUARDIAN: “Police chief says ‘we were too hasty’ in naming McCanns as suspects”
“In an interview to be aired on Portuguese radio today, Alípio Ribeiro, the national director of the Polícia Judiciária, will concede that police may have acted too soon in making Kate and Gerry McCann formal suspects, known in Portugal as arguidos. His comments were interpreted last night by the McCanns as a tacit admission that the police were wrong to name them as being involved in the disappearance of their four-year-old daughter”

In a post at 7:38 pm today (currently no 554) Sledgehammer clearly called me a liar.
I am not a liar, and you can see that quite clearly from the content of my posts.
I now request that some action is taken against Sledgehammer to ensure that his libel will not be repeated on your pages.
Thank you.

Aardvarko … you have my seconding and full backing on this one. YELLOW CARD FOR SLEDGIE IS THE POLITE REQUEST!

Aardvarko, you are still a liar, the post suggests nothing of the sort, how apt a cartoon character from fantasy land.

can’t say no, don’t worry our police have not exactly covered themselves in glory, over the murder of Rhys Jones, my question was a serious one, as the young German lad’s case is just as mysterious as Madeleines.
++++++++++++++++
As you raise it, there are actually some interesting parallels between the Rhys Jones and Madeleine cases. The police in the Rhys Jones case seemingly have a good idea who the guilty party/ies is are but are unable to proceed because of a wall of silence. Sounds familiar at all?

I feel I should warn you that Orange doesn’t send anyone out to fix its equipment; it all has to be done by the poor hopeless mug of a customer.
When I first got it I had to spend ages testing everything because it didn’t work, and in the end had to send the equipment back by post. They then sent me more equipment, which did work, though of course I had to set it up myself.
And during the last week when I have been on to them several times a day I repeated the diagnostic routines so often that I could probably do them in my sleep.
This may come in useful if you do change to Orange…

Is he still in jail ?
February 3rd, 2008 at 7:46 pm
Sledgie, just a simple question. are you a paid troll, or do you just sit here irritating everybody’s dummys out of their mouth?
What exactly is your objective here, apart from irritating the crap out of eveyone? Or do you get double-pay-out-bonus-points - likely-to-double-every-time you open your gob and let out of the front end what is supposed to come out the back end? Just an observation Sledgie

Sledgehammer, like many of his kin, wishes to talk about anything but Madeleine. Heaven forbid that anyone should ever really discover what happened to an innocent three year old girl called Madeleine.

Hedgeslammer - your post no 251 today at 12:41 today was undoubtedly worded to imply that you knew the twins. Do not even try to suggest otherwise now.
I, and other posters, do not believe your claim any more than we believe any of your posts since the mythical 11:30 announcement which you made up last week.
Don’t respond, as I will not be posting to you again today.

Hedgeslammer - give it up. You know you spout nonsense - there are any number of other posters who have stated this.
I have not lied, and I resent the implication, coming as it does from a habitual poster of untruths.
As I have stated on a number of occasions, you are not worth the bother. I will save my powder for someone more worthwhile.

“The whole broadband thing is a nightmare”
Hi Chenier, I am so relieved and happy to see you back with us……sharp and amusing as ever. I sure do sympathise re living with ‘Broadband and the ever tentative uncertainties of cyberspace reality ! Suppose it’s all of a piece with the general uncertainties of post-modernity ! I too, did a couple off weeks or so of leaving computer always on for the same reason as you…….then my joint fuel provider jacked up my electricity payment by £20 a month which I assumed must be directly connected. Would I be right does anyone know approx cost per hour of running a PC ? Still reckon it’s probably worth it for you right now……Might you opt for a new connection to ditch the ‘orrible Agent Orange ?
————————————————-
Sadly, Orange and its Agents have me locked into a contract, but if I have anymore problems like this one I shall make a formal complaint to whoever regulates broadband providers. If the worst comes to the worst I could offer to pay the discounted cost of the contract, since I do rely on being able to use the web…
And tomorrow I go back to customer service, a contradiction in terms when it comes to Orange, who promised to pay for the phone calls and a rebate once it was sorted out.
They are supposed to be doing a proper line check to see if there is an intermittent fault, but I gather that takes at least another five days. So probably I should wait for that to be done, and leave the pc on in the meantime. I think it goes into hibernate mode, so with luck it won’t be too expensive.
And I am very glad to ’see’ you all again; thank you for the compliments but anorak is a wonderful example of the whole being a great deal larger than the sum of the parts.
I could go really post-modern and claim synergy is at work…
February 3rd, 2008 at 7:32 pm
Rene Hasee, can’t say no help me out here, what was the outcome of the little boys case, it seems to be well and truly buried.++++Aardvarko, you can’t debate because you make statements about what people are supposed to have claimed according to your addled brain, and then spit the dummy when your lies are exposed, tut tut.

Alipio Ribeiro is the one who has made the hasty mistake by saying the PPS were too HASTY in making the McCanns suspects.
He is a loner in his opinions within the PPS. By making such daft comments against his own, it is little wonder there is growing pressure for him to stand down.
But his comments are of little value as he does not, in anyway say a word about believing the McCanns are innocent.
Michell, of course has pounced and demanded the immediate lifting of the ARGUIDO status on the neglectors.
How does he come to the conclusion that one man comments are tantamount to an admission that the Portuguese Cops have got it wrong?
Sorry Clarence old chap, but yet another attempt to clear your child neglectors will fail.
I have also noticed that the broadcast of Ribeiro’s comments are on radio Renascenca owned by the Cathlic Church. How very convenient.
As fore Police smears to turn the public against the McCanns, surely public opinion was ALWAYS against them without the need of any help.
One thing about Clarence is, he does try hard to discredit those who don’t like child neglectors and this latest typical Mitchel verbal crap will be treated with utter contempt by majority of DECENT parents and end up where it belongs.
In the TRASH heap.
