Madeleine McCann: Alipio Ribeiro’s Thinks, Clarence Mitchell Knows And A Birthday
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY STAR ON SUNDAY: “MADDIE COPS SAYS SORRY – Police ‘too quick’ “to blame parents”
“A top policeman has sensationally admitted that making Gerry and Kate McCann suspects over their daughter Maddie’s disappearance was too ‘hasty’. Alipio Ribeiro, boss of the Portuguese department in charge of the investigation, dropped his bombshell in a radio interview”
Says Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns spokesman: “Now that the national director of the Policia Judiciaria apparently acknowledges that they should never have been made arguidos, it follows there is no case for them to answer.”
SUNDAY EXPRESS: “POLICE ‘TOO HASTY’ OVER MCCANNS”
“As the couple bravely celebrated the third birthday of their twins, Sean and Amelie, one of Portugal’s most senior detectives admitted that making them suspects had been a “hasty” mistake”
Did Mr Alipio Ribeiro say “mistake” in his radio interview?
Says the paper: “The couple, both 39, said the official’s comments were tantamount to an admission that Portuguese detectives had bungled by centring their investigation on them.”
Says Mr Ribeiro to Portugal’s Radio Renascenca, owned by the Catholic Church:
“At this moment in time and speaking with the experience I have of Portugal’s Public Prosecution Service and the constitution of arguidos, I think there perhaps should have been another assessment before the McCanns were made official suspects.
“I don’t have any doubt about that. The national director of the Policia Judiciaria doesn’t give out orders on the constitution of arguidos but there was a certain hastiness”
Says the paper: “Last night Ribeiro was under growing pressure to stand down as national director of their country’s Policia Judiciaria”. Pressure from, whom?
MAIL ON SUNDAY: “”Police chief: We were too quick to make Gerry and Kate ‘arguidos’”
Says the Mail: “Kate and Gerry McCann’s bid to clear their names over the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine has been given a massive boost after the head of Portugal’s police admitted it had been a mistake to rush into making them official suspects”
Mr McCann says: “We need a breakthrough and this looks like it could be one. It is fantastic news. We still have a long way to go but people in Portugal need to understand what has been happening and what we have been going through. We know it will take the police a long time to accept what has been happening is wrong but it is an important step towards that”
Says the McCanns’ lawyer in Portugal, Carlos Pinto de Abreu: “Many people who may have vital information have possibly not come forward as they wrongly suspected the McCanns”
What about that huge reward, and doing the right thing? People may be deterred from coming forward for fear of being named in the media and questioned by Metodo 3, the McCann’s private investigators. But let us not speculate
SUNDAY PEOPLE: “MADDIE U-TURN - EXCLUSIVE Cops admit mistake on twins’ birthday”
“Kate and Gerry McCann threw a birthday bash for their twins yesterday - as a top cop admitted it was WRONG to name them as suspects over missing Maddie”
Well, Policia Judiciaria “boss” Alipio Ribeiro, said the police acted too hasilty. “Ribeiro last night faced calls to resign over the astonishing U-turn” – although from whom, the paper does not bother to say
Say the McCanns: “The support we have had from around the world has been amazing. It’s helped maintain our strength and hope and this has helped the search for our precious Madeleine. We believe there is a very good chance she is still alive. She deserves the love and security of her family. She needs to be back home with her mummy and daddy, brother and sister”
THE GUARDIAN: “Police chief says ‘we were too hasty’ in naming McCanns as suspects”
“In an interview to be aired on Portuguese radio today, Alípio Ribeiro, the national director of the Polícia Judiciária, will concede that police may have acted too soon in making Kate and Gerry McCann formal suspects, known in Portugal as arguidos. His comments were interpreted last night by the McCanns as a tacit admission that the police were wrong to name them as being involved in the disappearance of their four-year-old daughter”

Yes but it would have been honest and they would get compassion even though it is a tragic situation because this kind of things unfortunately happen. Not common but they still happen.
It is the cover up and the whole lot which is unbearable.Very very sad for the child and her siblin naturally but this is an other chapter.I do not want to think about it right now.
I am off to bed now.Blood test in the morning.
Good night,sweet dreams and all

Hi Chenier
Weve missed you here! hope you are recovering fast now.be careful not be too much on anorak! it has become a health hazard!
Dont you agree they are guilty of child neglect???for a start?
Anyhow,we all agree in wanting justice for Madeleine and this is the most important. The rest is all speculations as we do not know and may be will never know or not right now.I believe there is a “boomerang effect” in life. What goes comes back to you….in the face, at some point in life. This will happen to those people.Soon or later.
—————————————-
It has become a health haard; why so?
And in my view the McCanns were grossly negligent, failed utterly in their duties as parents, and still have yet to display any understanding of what the duties of a parent are.
All of which does not inspire confidence that, had an accident to Madeleine ocurred, the McCanns would have immediately contacted the relevant authorities.
It seems to me to be far more probable that they would have realised the disastrous effect on their lives and careers of their failure to properly care for their children, and set about trying to cover it up.
Madeleine deserves to be taken seriously as a person,as opposed to a possession of her parents, and she deserves justice…

2008-02-03 - 00:30:00 Searching: dam of Arade Maddie divers seeking Nuno Eugénio Promoter of the searches believe the body is here A lawyer Madeiran is paying underwater searches in the dam of Arade, in the county of Silves, since last Thursday. Marcos Aragon Correia believes that is where is the body of Madeleine McCann. For the lawyer, who yesterday once again followed the work, “this dam is the place most likely to be the girl who has got rid of the body.” The searches are being carried out by five divers Portuguese and British company’s Dive Team, Lagos. Until now, the main ‘track’ was found a strange string of five meters - formed by several pieces of belts, blinds, united among themselves with us - however delivered to the GNR of Lagos. “A rope was to seven meters deep, under the bridge that connects the tower of the dam. I think that is a very strong indication, “argued

Aragon Correia. The lawyer revealed that researchers deprived of Method 3 “already know the track and see it as very credible, since it is coupled with the information that guarantees a camionista have seen Maddie be changed in a car to another, in Silves, May 5 “(two days after his disappearance of Light). Aragon recalled having received a clue that led to the dam of Arade “on May 6,” but excuse to reveal who gave him the information. “They told me that Maddie had been launched to a desert lake, with water cloudy and heavily wooded shores,” says the lawyer. “In addition, the site had particular characteristic as a beach, which fits with this place, which could identify the December 10 last. Immediately informed the PJ, who thanked but did nothing, “he adds. Aragon Correia wants to continue the searches in the morning, despite the difficulties experienced by divers, due to the “zero visibility from two meters can only use the touch.”

Honestly - now everyone . Do we really HOPE that the McCanns are guilty or do we actually THINK that they are guilty. IF they are proved to be innocent of all charges or alledged charges - will you be relieved or distressed?
——————————
Guilty of what?
There is a vast range of possibilities; some actions may be contrary to my personal morality but perfectly legal in the relevant legal system whilst other actions may be illegal but not, in my view, immoral.
The only thing that would distress me, and I am sure the vast majority of people who post here, would be that Madeleine, the wholly innocent victim of all this, did not receive justice…

Honesty first! IMO they’re guilty with a 70% chance as per my last night’s list. Guilt being at least negligence, 2nd best cover-up, at worst manslaughter. There are too many inconsistencies in this story to believe they have nothing to do with it. However, if they’re found/proven innocent of any of these, that would be good news. If it will be known what happened to their daughter, we will not necessary be happy with it. But at least it will be known … !

I wont have a rest before they are at least charged with child neglect for which they are absolutely guilty. No doubt about it.And then if this is a kidnap, something nobody believes then they would still be the only ones responsible.Very simple.
If they are innocent why dont they speak up and say: it was an accident…..But they didnt and wont say it and legged it out of portugal at the chance they could grab.
:evil.
Lots of people will carry on looking at the justice being made to Madeleine.

LOGIC
Thanks very much for that info, mrs B stopped taking whatever the Dr prescribed , she felt much worse had side effects, like temper tantrums, unusual for her. She is also very interested in natural medicines. Found an article on 5htp ordered it and within 3 days fibromyalgia was gone. We now have a new product here called Manna to stabilize blood sugar, and Diabecin which seems to control diabetis type 2 this is made from cinnamon. Have you heard of the natural herbs centre at Montague ? They have a lot of information about indigenous herbs roots etc. will look up the address for you. As well as Margaret Roberts she has studied herbs for years and has written many books, thank you again and have a goog nights sleep.
February 4th, 2008 at 12:10 am
Could be the authorities are onto a lot of stuff and are playing dumb in order to get what they want….a confession and save everyone a lot of time. Madeleine then can be laid to rest.
The courts then can deal with the matter.
