And: “Portugal’s top prosecutor Antonio Cluny branded Ribeiro’s comment ‘extremely worrying’” – Why worrying? Because of what he said? Or because a policeman has given his personal views about an ongoing case? The Sun fails to make this clear
The McCanns spokesman tells us: “You cannot have the head of the police force openly questioning the validity of the way in which they were made suspects and then not have a review”
Can’t you? Can someone expert in Portuguese law tells us if you can or cannot…
FERGUS Shanahan: “COPS SO WRONG”
Alipis Ribero is on the radiop. Says Shanahan: “In effect, Mr Ribeiro is saying: ‘We never had any evidence agsint Kate and Gerry. The tabloids, meanwhile, look at “creepy” Robert Murat, also a suspect - you know, the one the Sun calls an “oddball“

We’re all getting a bit fed up with the never ending spin from the McCann’s and their PR campaign.
Think that just about everyone has had a titful of it and would like some action.
It has become all consuming for most of us on here, I feel.

Too many other missing kids to think about. Remember the Irish girl, Amy, who went missing on 1st Jan. Still no sign. But bet that is not covered in the UK. Who cares about HER? She is not connected with St. Gerry and St. Kate McDoctor Yeuk.

Well, Carmen, it’s funny how “truth is in the beholder’s mind”
Because looking at this issue from my point of view, I find that a large proportion of those who respond to “pro-McCanners” (for want of a better label!) are both abusive (VERY!!) to them and unwilling to enter into debate with them, preferring just to abuse, when, what is more, often their arguments are riddled with so many holes (of which I gave an example in a post almost a couple of weeks ago). Which are SOME of the reasons why I only contribute to this site sporadically. Honestly, it is funny how truth really IS in the beholder’s mind. I am particularly struck by the subjectivity of truth when I read your comment and then compare it with my experience and perception. I have the impression that many “anti-McCann” posters would be happier if the pro-McCanners just went away and would then just, as Ian says, “agree to reagree”. But I mean no offence to you. I do genuinely appreciate your light-hearted and even-handed approach as a Moderator—your humanness.
But I do also have to add that I find it really strange how we all, ME INCLUDED, get sucked into this debate when despite our different points of view we all seem to be agreed that Rebelo and team are doing a decent job. In view of that, it’s difficult (imho) to know how we (me included!) can either help in solving the case, or even contribute anything useful to any public cause through debate of this case, particularly when there ARE other genuinely productive things I could be doing. (Free speech is about changing, making an impact on this world, not just talking about it, isn’t it?) But it certainly is addictive, isn’t it?
Btw sorry if you don’t find a response from me immediately on this, nor too long an exchange on this. Also wishing you well in your not easy job as a Moderator.

Am still intrigued about Murat’s part in all of this.
Remember when our Ger was asked if he knew Murat and he put on his pinched fart face and said ‘We are not going to comment on that’ or words to that effect.
And this was when he was trying to get the world to believe he was sincere and serious about looking for his daughter. What was the problem with saying yes or no? Again….have to ask, what were they hiding?
