Madeleine McCann: Carlos Anjos Says, Clarence Mitchell Replies And The Daily Express Is Quiet

Carlos Anjos, head of the Portuguese Police Federation, says: “There are bigger problems in the police”, than the case of Madeleine McCann
Says Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns’ spokesman: “Mr Anjos is entitled to his opinion but it is entirely unhelpful”
This the same Carlos Anjos who once noted:
“There is no criminal investigation which can feed a news frenzy for six months, so what we have seen are both English and Portuguese journalists behaving in a scandalous and unprofessional way. Writing terrible stories in the papers, some of which have clearly affected the McCanns… now we have to say that the McCanns are partly to blame for this. Because it was something they created”
And then one of the oddest lines yet seen in a newspaper:
“Meanwhile cops have ruled out a theory the four-year-old could have been snatched by Swiss pervert Urs Hans Von Aesch. He blew his chance in august after killing a girl of five”
Anyone care to explain that comment?
DAILY STAR: “FIND MADDIE? WE’VE GOT BETTER THINGS TO DO. HEAD COP BLASTS McCANN SEARCH”
Says Mr Anjos: “There are bigger problems than the Maddie case”
Why the Star should appear shocked at this seem unclear, given the tabloid stories of paedophilia being rife in Portugal
Says Mr Anjos: “I am certain that all of my colleagues involved in the investigation are doing everything they can to discover what happened”
DAILY MIRROR: “Maddy’s ‘not our priority’”
Mr Anjos made his views known in Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas
MARI Luz Cortes – Still missing. Her father has posted a £110,000 reward, The paper reports that police are “scaling down the search”
DAILY MAIL: “Maddie? We’ve got bigger problems”
Says Mr Anjos: “But with respect, there are bigger problems in the Policia Judiciaria than the Madeleine case”

I agree. And it was interesting the way she noted that “we” referred to “them” (theT9 group) as “the doctors”. We? What did they consider themselves as a group — they were all in the media, I think, forming another group. Socially they are higher than “the doctors” which explains the condescending attitude and also O’Donnel’s fourth floor location of apartment. Those up high with larger balconies were more priveleged. But even these might not compare to someone like Gail Cooper, who was staying at a large villa!
It’s been said that at the time there was a total of 60 “staff and guests” at the Ocean Club Resort. Does anyone know precisely how many staff and how many guests there were? Would 30-40 guests be a good estimate? What was the full guest capacity?
These guests may have allbeen there by the arrangement of Bell Pottinger, IMO. Supposedly Bell Pottinger’s “emergency response” was aimed at helping Mark Warner employees. But Alex Woolfall spent his full energy on the McCanns, even though Bell Pottinger had no (stated) corporate or contractual responsibilities in this regard.
In a sense, it seems similar to the peculiarity of Brian Kennedy spending so much energy (and money) on the McCanns, when he has no other reason than the ludicrous one that he “felt compelled” to help them with their defense, and with the “search”, after hearing about their plight on the news. The main difference is that Bell Pottinger acted immediately, while Brian Kennedy entered the picture only after a long delay, and after a duration as “mystery benefactor” before revealing his identity.
Were there only two such groups at that time staying in Ocean Club? I doubt it. And were both/all groups having their holdidays sponsored by Bell Pottinger’s clients? It’s what I think, and it’s why Bell Pottinger was so active in what they call on their webpage the “Madeleine McCann crisis”.
In addition to media and doctors, was there a group of financiers and bankers? I believe so.

What I don’t get is why the first thing they looked for was a priest if they wanted people to believe it was an abduction. I would have thought a priest suggested death (even if the last rites were not required), rather than abduction. At the beginning, you would be looking for practical help (e.g. Jez), rather than spiritual help.
