Madeleine McCann: Carlos Anjos Says, Clarence Mitchell Replies And The Daily Express Is Quiet
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
THE SUN: “Maddie cops snub”
Carlos Anjos, head of the Portuguese Police Federation, says: “There are bigger problems in the police”, than the case of Madeleine McCann
Says Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns’ spokesman: “Mr Anjos is entitled to his opinion but it is entirely unhelpful”
This the same Carlos Anjos who once noted:
“There is no criminal investigation which can feed a news frenzy for six months, so what we have seen are both English and Portuguese journalists behaving in a scandalous and unprofessional way. Writing terrible stories in the papers, some of which have clearly affected the McCanns… now we have to say that the McCanns are partly to blame for this. Because it was something they created”
And then one of the oddest lines yet seen in a newspaper:
“Meanwhile cops have ruled out a theory the four-year-old could have been snatched by Swiss pervert Urs Hans Von Aesch. He blew his chance in august after killing a girl of five”
Anyone care to explain that comment?
DAILY STAR: “FIND MADDIE? WE’VE GOT BETTER THINGS TO DO. HEAD COP BLASTS McCANN SEARCH”
Says Mr Anjos: “There are bigger problems than the Maddie case”
Why the Star should appear shocked at this seem unclear, given the tabloid stories of paedophilia being rife in Portugal
Says Mr Anjos: “I am certain that all of my colleagues involved in the investigation are doing everything they can to discover what happened”
DAILY MIRROR: “Maddy’s ‘not our priority’”
Mr Anjos made his views known in Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas
MARI Luz Cortes – Still missing. Her father has posted a £110,000 reward, The paper reports that police are “scaling down the search”
DAILY MAIL: “Maddie? We’ve got bigger problems”
Says Mr Anjos: “But with respect, there are bigger problems in the Policia Judiciaria than the Madeleine case”
DAILY EXPRESS: NO MADELEINE NEWS – Which is the biggest Madeleine McCann news of the past six months
Madeleine McCann: hype, frenzy and speculation

I think if you could walk out and leave three babies alone would you be checking your watch/mobile? You would only do that if you were a concerned parent which the McC’s obviously weren’t. I think Gerry has lied about the timeline and that is why the inconsistencies show up. IMO ..of course.

How nice to see you’re around. And still a cynic a see.

I think you’ve over done the skunk. Sweet ideas, but it’ll never work.
And even if it did - Sweden has one of the most envied Socialist systems in the world and one of the highest suicide rates - people like a bit of excitement in their lives and universal uniform security wouldn’t provide it.

But if you were checking ‘every half hour’ then you’d be checking your mobile/watch.
However - and this is a key issue - why has Gerry changed Tanners sighting to ‘about 9:10′ on his blog - did he forget she said ‘about 9:15′ or that he had told us that he looked at Madeleine at 9:10?
Could this really be a mistake when it is so vital? Speaks volumes, in my opinion.

In film and television shows, a tumbleweed blowing across a scene can be used to indicate a deserted location or to emphasize an awkward silence

lol.
Just been speaking to my sister. I told her that the McCanns are well involved in the whole thing. “Don’t be silly” she replied “Why has it not been in the paper then?”.
Going out to find a brick wall.

noseycow and Châtelaine
Just watched ‘Zeitgiest the movie’. I feel sick now. I’ve been banging on about the jesus story being made up to control through fear for years but i never knew it wasn’t an original story. I am now even more sure that the answer to most of our economic and social problems lies in the cultivation and use of what the government is now calling ‘SKUNK’ but what is in actuality marijuana or hemp.
A new hemp industry will provide jobs and revenue for the next economic transition which will be the creation of the universal living allowance. Every man, woman and child will be given enough money for their basic food, clothes and shelter no matter how rich or poor. If they want luxuries they will have to work for them and so all those tricky part-time jobs (created by a never ending technological revolution) that nobody can take will now be taken by happy workers. The price? Only one third of your income. Not much for freedom is it?
There is a whole side of the hemp revolution that relates to fascism and sexual health which i could talk about for days. Let me try to put it simply. Orgasms = no nazi’s, No orgasms = nazi’s.
Thanks again.

Thank you for reminding me about this. First I should say that my ‘take’ on this case is that nothing is known for certain apart from the fact that Madeleine McCann has disappeared and that from all I have read abduction seems the least likely explanation. I had no pre-existing dislike of the McCanns, but felt from very early on that something wasn’t right about their insistence on abduction, a doubt that is now supported by the excellent mccannfiles.com - particularly the topic ‘Apartment 5A.
Even so, I think the observable lack of grief is also worthy of comment. This isn’t about the absence of ‘weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth’, though I think that would be a completely appropriate response to the loss of a child. For me the paradigm of dignity in grief is Doreen and Neville Lawrence. After the death of their son Stephen they totally kept their composure in public. It was their eyes that said everything there was to say about grief and loss.

So Goodnight all.

I am sorry to hear about the grief you suffered.
The McC case is strange because they claim that M was abducted, so they were not actually grieving for her as they ‘hoped she was still alive’.
If we play along with this scenario, then as a parent would you not fear the worst - despite yourself - and imagine all sorts of terrible terrible things that could be happening to your daughter - a three year old in the hands of a gang of paedoes for example. A living hell I would imagine and a parents worst worst nightmare.
How then, could they laugh, smile, jog and professionally handle the media in this situation.
