Madeleine McCann With Britney Spears And David Beckham
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
THE SUN: “Maddie resort ‘perv’ snaps Brit”
“A suspected pervert who fled the resort where Maddie McCann vanished is taking photos of Britney Spears in LA, The Sun can reveal.
“Christian Ridout, 32, is wanted for questioning in Praia da Luz, Portugal, for allegedly trying to groom a 12-year-old girl”
DJ Shifty..?
“But for several months Ridout has used the name Dexter Troy to work as a paparazzo in Hollywood, where he has trailed the likes of Britney, David Beckham and Kiefer Sutherland”
Says Ridout: “These allegations are ridiculous. At the time of Madeleine McCann’s disappearance I was in London. I have not been to Portugal for three years”
But Britney Spears. Madeleine McCann. Both in the same story. Remarkable stuff at the Sun. has Ridout every taken a picture of Princess Diana? We demand to be told…
DAILY MIRROR: “McCann: Clear our name bid”
“Kate and Gerry McCann are planning a formal appeal to be cleared as suspects over missing daughter Madeleine, it was revealed yesterday. Lawyers for the couple, both 39, in Portugal and Britain, held talks to decide the timing of an application to lift their ‘arguido’ status”
McCanns talks with lawyers – read all about it!

No, i live in Madrid. The interst in the case, now in Spain, is zero. However, everybody has an opinion, and 90% of people think they were involved in Madeleine’s dissapearance and get rid of te body. 100% of people think they are guilthy of neglect.
As I said, the subject is not important anynore, although some days agom the public TV, the most serious, was authomatically repeating the Comical press releases: the sketch of the creepy man, the news about PJ “haste”, …
Shame!

How I see it :
If the rogatory letters have been sent, I don’t think the PJ are thinking of closing the case. IF, and we don’t know about that now, they lift the arguidos status before the interrogations, it may help with the interrogation.
I think the interrogation is necessary if there are striking inconsistencies in the witnesses’ statements. It is interesting to see what the witnesses will say, once faced with those inconsistencies. They are bound to react one way or the other. And they have to be very careful what they say (their lawyers will probably help them). Either they change their story : no inconsistencies, but change of stories (strange). Either they don’t : inconsistencies (strange again). This will be helpful to build up the case. Also, the insconsistencies may show oppositions between the “Tapas members”. They can offer clues.
Truly, the arguido status was a bit hasty, as it made the clever lawyers come into the picture too early, and blocked interviews. But saying it bluntly was a bit hasty too. or maybe not, we’ll see.
I am not over optimistic because of the clever expensive lawyers whom I trust to deserve their earnings. Otherwise, I tend to think the PJ have really got some substantial evidence. But it is only how I see it. A feeling, no more.

Hold on, that one single attempt is not the end of the story by a hell of a long way!
He was told that the Magistrates court in Leicestershire didnt have jurisdiction - I think that might be challengeable. What about in the Portuguese equivalent - where they couldnt argue not having jurisdiction?
Dont worry, the legal possibilities are by no means exhausted.

Wasn”t Tony Bennet”s attempt quashed because the incident took place in Portugal.? If there is a way for a charge to be made in Portugal, it may happen. iN MY OPINION THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE FIRST CHARGE!!!!!!!!

If nothing else this poor child’s fate and the subsequent proceedings have opened many peoples eyes and minds to the type of brainwashing and mind manipulation that we are being subjected to ALL the time! If it has resulted in more people ‘questioning’ then that i suppose that is a positive.

Isnt that a strange phrase…’Kate and Gerry know they had nothing to do Madeleine’s disappearance ‘…..
Does it really prove anything whatsoever? It is irritating the way we always hear how accused people consistantly claim they are innocent, what does that actually mean? Just because someone sticks to a story it means they are innocent? Do guilty people keep changing their minds?
Well, if they do, doesnt that mean that the T9 are in fact all likely to be guilty of something as they have not been consistant?

Is it the case now that child neglect is an accepted part of society in the uk and in portugal ?????
*******************
i really wouldnt be surprised if their status is lifted….what i cant understand is why they have not been charged with neglect as i dont see how anyone can argue for their innocence of neglect…it is a fact the children were neglected and on more than one occassion. Blimey i think even garf would agree with that
tony bennet attempted to take them to court for neglect and was unsuccessful remember?

Forget it.
They will NEVER tell the truth otherwise they would have done it since the very start. We all know this.
Whats going to happen if/when their status is lifeted it that they will go on shows, they are CELEBS now, they will think it is still ok to pose as glamorous victims etc….BUT people are going to be very hard on them. You will see.Especially the media people, the ones they are acquainted with now. Thanks to CM”S amazing work……

I have been researching and found this about Brian Kennedy:
Brian Kennedy
Brian’s business career began as a trainee at the Royal Bank of Scotland moving to Melrose Drover as Trainee Accountant.
In 1980 he joined Moben Kitchens and became a Branch Manager at the age of 20.
In 1984 he was appointed Operation Director of Farouche Kitchens and in 1989 established the Weatherseal Group, having bought the assets and trading name of Weatherseal Windows.
In 1999 Brian raised 42 m of funding to buy Everest and CDW Group from Caradon Plc.
In addition Brian formed Genesis Communications, which also became a Scottish Rugby sponsor.
In 2002 Sale Rugby Club was acquired and was followed by the formation of Cheshire Sports Promotions which included both Sale Rugby Club and Stockport County Football Club.
In April 2002 Duraflex, a subsidiary of CDW was sold to Masco for 30m followed in May 2002 by the sale of Genesis to Dixons Group for 31m and in September 2004 the disposal of Scotplas for 6m to SIG.

Hey! Stop letting the buggers beat you!
Even if their is no formal charge, eventually the evidence will be leaked - there are too many people involved in this case for it to be shelved and forgotton (might be shelved, will not be forgotton).
Although the thought makes me want to throw up, the McCanns on TV will reveal them - every time they appear on TV they slip up and we learn more. Imagine if they were free to discuss anything and couldnt keep sayin ‘the secrecy laws prevent us saying anything about that’!
Lift your spirits up to join you on the hill, man on a hill!

See my post 210 to Red Rooster.
I really don”t know what will happen now, if there was a charge of child neglect at least some
justice would be seen to be done.
If you live in Portugal perhaps you can find out if at this late stage they CAN be charged?

I was carried away, just even didnt think about it.
Sorry,sorry,sorry…..
My keyboard is just playing tricks on me
Administrator: Fine. I will give an explanation here. The moderators are aware there may be a concerted effort to form and shape opinion here. Nothing wrong with that if posters are open and honest about what they are about. Where languages (any languages) other than English are used it is a distraction to other posters and the Moderators.
The Moderators will not translate blocks of text. They do not have the time they are very busy. They will remove it and if the poster continues there will be a parting of the ways. This is not meant to be a heavy action…it’s just common sense.
The McCann story is complex enough without Mods and posters falling out about just what a phrase or word means. If you wish to use material from other languages translate it and credit the original publication and author. If you wish to converse in another language this is not the site to do it and if you use a phrase it should be translated in the interest of openness and understanding. -agw

Incredible, what value is there in liftng their status? They arent going to stop being suspects until they tell the truth about their child care arrangements and thats never going to happen.
Lifting the legal status will just put them all on our TV’s again! I really dont want to end up throwing a brick through the familiy TV, so I’d have to start watching a portable…I can always replace it after checking it out of the window the next time the ‘failed parents’ start lecturing on child care (or child recovery!).

I always wondered what the point of the spin was and i guess now we know. It was to soften us up for the really big lie, i.e. that there is not enough evidence for a prosecution. Our leaders are at this moment betraying M to save their humiliation and disgrace. I would be amazed if there was a trial now. Our PM will never allow it (think nuclear, the opposite of hemp). I fear i have wasted my time here, who really wants to know the truth anyway. The only truth people like is the kind that doesn’t threaten their reality. I can’t be positive today, it feels naive to be so.

Maybe they will be charged with child neglect, they certainly deserve to be. I seem to remember reading that they should have been charged in Portugal and would definitely
have been proven guilty. whether the PJ will have the stomach to raise this issue is anybody”s guess IMO

It saddens me terribly because it may well end up as you say.
Too many dirty hands are involved.
I keep the tremendous hope that whenever,in its due time, justice will be made to Madeleine.
Some people will never give up.
It is now a long time I have lost faith in “human justice” I am NOT religous at all but I still believe in natural laws which will fall on them.
Time will tell

Im a bit pesimistic too, but, imagine that the friends are not reinterviewed until -lest say, May, June or even later… We will have the same scenario. They won’t remember what they agreed to say in their “submit”. Also, the PJ knows now that they all have put in common their versions, so will be prepared for that event (hopefully). Maybe PJ won’t come back to the timing, but to some new issues that they have. I bet its a “surprise” interview
February 9th, 2008 at 12:58 pm
They’re just clutching at straws !!!
Like the BIG announcement the days before they were taken in by the police !!
Keep the Faith !!!
February 9th, 2008 at 12:55 pm
Yep, folks, read all about the inhumane status of the MoneyMakers!
Cadaver fluids were found in their car, the abduction scenario is impossible given their current timeline and they refuse to cooperate with the police.
But the subsequent homocide suspect status is inhumane!
NOTICE: not ONE WORD about Madeleine and the inhumane status SHE is in right now (probably dead).
Not ONE WORD about her suffering.
The Child Neglectors of the year are agressors trying to pass for victims and they disgust me to no end.
Kate and Gerry McCann plan appeal to get their names cleared
By Emily Nash 09/02/2008
Kate and Gerry McCann are planning a formal appeal to be cleared as suspects over missing daughter Madeleine, it was revealed yesterday.
Lawyers for the couple, both 39, in Portugal and Britain, held talks to decide the timing of an application to lift their “arguido” status.
The legal team discussed if the comment by police chief Alipio Ribeiro that cops had been “hasty” to make the McCanns suspects, could form the basis of an appeal. Last night their spokesman, Clarence Mitchell, said: “It is verging on the inhumane to keep two parents as suspects indefinitely.”
A family friend said: Kate and Gerry know they had nothing to do Madeleine’s disappearance and it’s time the police acknowledged that there is no evidence against them.”
