There was an announcement about this on ITV1 at 11.45am , but no mention of interviews.
I posted the news here and there has been quite a solemn atmosphere, probably why not many posters. I queried whether the McCanns could still be charged with neglect, but no one seems to know. IMO if the PJ is relying on anomalies in the Tapas9 statements, consider the case closed. There are bound to be discrepancies , who will remember what they said 9 months ago? I dont”even think the Tapas9 will be interviewed , why spend any more money and time?

The Telegraph headline shocked me, but the text …
unless “screaming contradictions” are revealed in forthcoming police interviews, according to a Portuguese newspaper.
According to a Portuguese newspaper, which doesn’t quote anyone.
I find it positive to understand that exactly at this moment it’s being discussed [or already decided?] that telephone and enhanced DNA are/will be acceptable evidence in a UK court case !

Detectives investigating Madeleine’s disappearance from the family’s rented holiday apartment in Praia da Luz on May 3 last year, do not have a shred of evidence against the McCanns, reported the respected broadsheet, Expresso.
After forensic tests proved inconclusive and a thorough review of the case by detectives in the Algarve uncovered nothing new, “the judicial police do not have any proof or evidence whatsoever against Madeleine’s parents,” it stated.
“They will only remain arguidos if there are screaming contradictions revealed in the answers to the letters sent to England.”
Legal letters containing 40 questions that Portuguese detectives want to put to the McCanns will be sent to the UK authorities this week following months of bureaucratic delays.

Look…it is dead silent
No spin or a very weak attempt
Whatever has happened within the PJ it doesnt seem to have altered the course of the investigation/letters and more than anything: they are still arguidos and unless there is an official announcement from the PJ,nothing has changed.
I agree it is slow but it is the best way to handle that awful case.
Time and patience.
I believe we will have some news soon and whatever the outcome,there are some people who simply are going to be lynched.
