I will respond to your post about economic consequences.
The point is that , yes, some people will suffer from economic consequences induced by Team McCanns’ intense and eternal publicity blitz telling the world their phony paedophile abduction story. But no one associated with Team McCann will suffer. They will profit. It is the ordinary folk like you and anyone else not privvy to insider information that will suffer economic consequences. And I doubt you can sue Bell Pottinger or anyone else. Team McCann is the one that makes the threats of lawsuits. lol

I went to Portugal many years ago before it was developed. Can”t remember the name of the
place we stayed but remember having to wade through water up to your waist to reach the
Beach with your belongings carried over your head if the tide was in!!!!!!
Back to Madeleine, you will obviously feel sad every time you pass 5a, especially if Justice
is not seen to be done. What I find strange is that Kate was said to award Madeleine a Gold
Star every time she slept in her own bed, because she was always trying to get in with Kate and Gerry. Yet they could still leave her for hours in the safe knowledge that she would not
wake up for hours……not just one night but every night apparently?

No, I’m sorry, Ian, I don’t have the time to do so. As I briefly alluded to, I had spent quite some time trying to pin down the urine test request, back when TB’s list was first published on Anorak, and was unable to. I am concerned that some of the information on TB’s list could be attributed to rumor and speculation on forums and not backed up by at least some official news source (even if tabloid publication). It just isn’t proper to state something as fact, particularly in a serious case such as this, if you really don’t know what the source of your information is, just because you read it ’somewhere’ and can’t recall where it was.

You keep bringing this up. I already answered you on the other thread. What you said, and I replied to, was that in your opinion Mark Warner has grounds to file a lawsuit because their business was adversely affected. I replied that you have no evidence that their revenues have been adversely affected, and were merely making a wild guess about this. It’s not a good guess, IMO, because Bell Pottinger is not likely to allow its clients to suffer adverse consequences. They arelikely to make sure that any such consequences are mitigated and compensated by advantageous opportunities. That is their, after all, the service that they provide clients.
I also mentioned that Ocean Club’s co-owner Symington’s family is into real estate, and would be in a position to benefit by a manipulation of real estate values in the area, if they knew of the intentions regarding sustained negative publicity.
I myself posted an article concerning real estate values, which contained assertions that less people will holiday in Algarve due to Team McCann’s artificial sustained publicity emphasizing their phony paedophile abduction. This “news” has now been placed on the latest ANORAK thread.
Yes, there is an economic effect, but there is NO evidence that this particular Ocean Club resort has suffered adverse economic consequences. Certainly you provided none. Even if they have, you showed no grounds for any lawsuit. Instead, you made snide remarks about my posts and Stevo’s consisting of “fantasy”.
Your constant inaccurate reference to my comments on this subject has become tiresome. Ironically, your own initial remarks about Mark Warner suing BP was pure fantasy.
Instead of carping and sniping, why don’t you find some evidence for your assertions? Show us evidence that the owners of Ocean Club Resorts have suffered as a result of the “McCann crisis”. It’s not likely at all that you can.

Oh really? The basis for this assertion is what exactly?
If the PJ drop this case and even let the McCanns off, then justice has not been served.
Maybe letting Scoland Yard take over might be a very good move.
I wonder what the defnition of ’screaming contradiction’ is….are we now to be told that a contradiction must not be subtle? So a 5 minute window of opportunity cancelled out by Gerry and Tanner quoting different times for a sighting by Tanner wouldnt count as a screaming contradiction?
Surely we already know enough ’screaming contradictions’? Is this a new spin on the degree of contradictions?!!!

I read through your list again and wondered if you had ever found a source stating that the police asked for the twins’ urine to be tested at the time of Madeleine’s disappearance, as I had been unable to back when you first published the list.
Also, I don’t remember reading about the Tapas 7 not searching for Madeleine (just Kate sitting in her apartment) and was hoping that you would provide some sources for this as well.
I know you can’t put more than one link on posts, but perhaps you could type up your sources by publication/website and date to help others confirm the truth and accuracy of what you are putting forth.

Tony, I meant Buck, sorry misspelling.
He’s “gone to a role in industry” I read. Bot he and the Consul resigned within days of the arguido status - and in the middle of the Portuguese presidency!! Buck has been replaced by a guy from EU commisison who had been in Portugal before, speaks portuguese. There to smooth any ruffles? He’s also reorganising the consular services; they won’t be issuing passports form Lisbon any more etc.
Sounds like a guy with a career, Portuguese assignment a little out of his normal path?

We all acept that Mccanns had an abnormal protection from authorities, and we deal with it as though that were not very strange, BUT IT IS… The Mc’s are overprotected, yes, so

REPLY: We must firmly rule out such speculation.
IF you were right,
THEN the abduction would have been much better organised. For example, a patio door left open, and Madeleine gone during the night. Much easier to explain.
THEN we would not have had the cadaver dogs, and the blood, and the McCanns’ bizarre and unbelieveble explanations for them.
THEN we would not have had all the contradictions and changed stories etc. surrounding what happened on 3 May.
No, all of this points to a sudden and unexpected event - Madeleine’s death, I’m afraid - which triggered the panic of creating the abduction hoax, the abduction smokescreen, or the abduction lie, call it what you will.
That abduction hoax does not seem to have been that well worked out, with hindsight, though it’s been good enough to persuade the British media for the past nine months that there really was an abduction.
The only thing I would concede is that it is very possible that Madeleine was in more ways than one a ‘problem’ to the McCanns and that one or both parents may have at least *thought* as to how she could ‘disappear’ from their lives

FOI very useful and having been on the receiving end of such requests in a previous job, I suggest that you need to know exactly what document you want, so you need help in advance from inside really.
Re med council, slow process, and no proof of medical negligence, unless of course sedation piece. Though not getting the twins checked out was odd, did they actually impede a medical examination of their kids? IF so you might have something there. Did the police offer a medical check? For eg drugs, or dna (semen)
You might go after the other consular offices in Portugal - what briefings were other eg Irish diplomats given about on this?
A very blank rely from a diplomat friend of mine suggests there may be a policy on this.
The response I got was “Oh I hate getting involved in the families in these things, you never know what to believe….and people get very aggressive if you don’t go along with them…” Interesting …
I am interested in the resignations of Buk and the Algarve consul. Have you gone after them?

have been Sky. He was very good and asked the McCanns if they felt they had been
neglectful.

Val, I’m not too worried we have repeat visitors and we mainly use the place for ourselves and friends.
Last summer the foreign visitors were there because they had already booked; but I was told that the real drop was inthe Portuguese, who resented the media intrusion etc.
Actually I’m looking forward to an unspoilt Luz this year.
i pass Apt 5A on my 5 minute walk to the shops, so I will always i magine little Madeleine leaning out over the little gate, as I’m sure she must have. I guess we’ll always remember her.
And I’ll try not to look for things floating in the water!!!
Actually I am pretty sure that in coming years the truth will emerge in Luz, as people start to talk….
