Okay, I just thought that one of the points of news reporting was that stories could be reported in a coherent format that readers in the targeted language group could understand. Spelling correctly helps to avoid misunderstandings, and demonstrates that the writer has made an effort to be understood. The clear implication of making such an effort is that the writer has something of importance or interest to impart to his/her readership.
I’m afraid June Johnson’s reply made absolutely no sense whatever.
