Yes, i believe it to be a hoax of some description. Is she alive? who knows, i hope so. It wouldn’t surprise me if she was to be conveniently found at some point if politically useful. On the other hand she could have been taken as a prize into the inner circle.

Anyway, there is no way the neglect of Madeleine will be forgotton - many parents were appalled - many who said nothing and will probably never say anything about the McCanns.
Even now their name has started to be used descriptively - “Shall we ‘do a McCann’ ” (leave the kids and piss off down the pub) and ‘From the McCann school of child care’ (Any failure in duty of care) to name two uses I have heard!
As Ade would say, ‘excellent fun!’

The Belfast Telegraph tucks the story away on an inside page, and devotes its biggest headline to a very different story.
It reports that Madeleine McCann’s parents won’t be returning to Donegal, where they have spent a holiday each year, because it would bring back too many painful memories of their missing daughter.
Gerry McCann was born in the village of St Johnston, but his mother tells the paper that they won’t be back this Easter, because the last time they visited was only a few weeks before Madeleine disappeared. The paper has a picture taken during that trip.
