There are 17,400 A3-size prints of Madeleine McCann in Spain and Portugal. The posters show Madeleine McCann, four, Mari Luz Cortes and Jeremy Vargas, seven, both missing.
Juan Jose Cortes, father of the missing girl, says: “Why didn’t they ask us? The three cases are not connected. We are with our lawyers.”
McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell says: “We did have permission from the family”
Fury – always fury

Ian,
Sledgie? Nah, he’s blocked after committing suicide.
Isn’t he the person who’s name is not to be mentioned?

Agreed - but they would say the last thing they were told or knew e.g. “maddie in bed - gone”, “maddie went to pool (beach, play) - not back”

Todays list of shame begins with dear old Sledgie (oops, I mean Gandalf - spelling corrected!).
List of shame:
Gandalf (spelling corrected).

I didnt spot it, another poster here did - I read it, was lost for words regarding the bravery award and re-posted it!
But yes, your point is taken.

Right, but we can’t be sure if they got questioned or not can we? And how about the other children of the group [one was of Madeleine's age] or the other children at the crèche. How old were the eldest children at the crèche?
On the other hand, children do have a rather peculiar idea about days and time..

That’s one of the reasons I can’t get my head around this theory that something happened BEFORE May 3rd.
How could they have trusted the twins to keep quiet at the creche on the 3rd if Madeleine wasn’t there. They would be bound to ask for her, or to look for her if they hurt themselves etc.
I can accept that the creche staff may not know the difference between Madeleine and A.N.Other, but the twins certainly would have.

Mods a question, since he who I may not mention without PMSL ia allowed to blacken other posters by alluding to them as supporters of child neglect, is it ok to refer to him whom I may not mention without PMSL, as a wanker.

Don’t get me wrong - I am not suggesting for one minute that they should be “questionned” in the witness sense of the word. My point is that they would have had to tell them something about where Madeleine was. Family and friends were with the twins immediately afterwards and the twins would not lie and just say something like “maddie at beach..gone”

I’ve always thought that, had the twins been correctly questioned at the time, they would have had quite a lot to say. But it’s too late now of course.
==================
It’s very very difficult to question young children, the defence would say that they were led, it’s deemed to be abusive to a child to put them in a witness box and let a barrister cross examine them (as the defence would insist on). So you can only listen to what the child volunteers. It’s the reason why loads of adults get away with treating children badly (my own included, GRRRRRRR)

Dear posters,
It seems noticeable that many are addressing Gandolf today. It takes a lot of your time and effort. BUT Gandolf is a well known poster, who had several other names, and you all have already debated all the issues with him. Had he kept his previous name, you would not have bothered to read his postes, let alone to reply to them. This is the reason he changed his username, so to make you waste your time on him again. I urge you to ignore him unless he discloses to you all his other usernames and gets the confirmation from M&A.
His agenda here is NOT debate. Be careful.

1320 Mr. B
Don’t think there’s anything to worry about. The last time I was in Portugal (about 3 weeks ago), I met an Englishwoman who lived on the Algarve. I asked her about the Madeleine case and she said they simply had no idea what had happened. She didn’t seem over-bothered or interested in it. Remember that lots of British people live there all the time.

If something happened to Madeleine before the night of 3rd May, has anyone wondered what the Mccanns told the twins when they asked where she was?

Mr B…. I’ve been to Portugal since the disappearance, and on the whole people are just getting on with their lives. Its of no more interest to Joe Public there than it is here. Sad I know, but do you hear her name mentioned in shops and pubs in UK now? She’s all but forgotten.
Admittedly PDL is slightly different but even then its mostly as it was. Its certainly not a topic of conversation anymore unless you make it so.
