Yes but they are usually over 3.
The twins were at the parrot stage as far as I can remember.

Rockhopper “Exactly, I think even if the other kids were aged 10 it’d still be very difficult to get any sense out of them, remember, even kids of that age cannot really be questioned.”
Oh yes they can! But it has to be done by a professional who can speak their language fluently. Without translators.
====================
And how can what they say be used?

Has nobody here ever been dropped in the shit/embarrassed by a young child suddenly blurting out, often in public in a loud voice, something that happened?

About the twins answering questions :
My husband used to wrap himself in a red blanket and play santa on Christmas eve. One time there were just the three of us, husband, son and me. Husband went out while I talked to son, (aged 2 or 3, I can’t remember exactly), rang at the door, asked our son if he had been a good boy, to which I answered yes, and he gave presents. When he was back in, son was unwrapping his presents ; I asked him about Santa, and son described the scene as if his Dad had been there all the while.
He also was adamant he was there at our wedding, which took place more than a year before his birth.

At two children are repeaters, they would have been told what to say.
+++++++++++++++++++++++
Exactly my point Brandon - but what were they told to say? If Madeleine didn’t go to bed as usual at the same time routine etc?

They were two years of age for gawds sake!

Possibly - for all the children not just the twins? May account for one of them being sick.

Even if something happened during the day of the 3rd - wouldn’t the twins say “maddie not come to bed..”?
===============
Of course a tiny dose of Rohypnol??? (the date rape drug???) would mean that a person so young, with such a tiny vocabulary would have no recollection of events.

dcb,
I think only if someone was smart enough to ask them. And it should have been asked immediately the next morning, I think. No long term memory for children of that age!

I’ve always thought that, had the twins been correctly questioned at the time, they would have had quite a lot to say. But it’s too late now of course.

dcb,
Yes. And [like Aardvarko] that’s one of the reasons I doubt she disappeared before May 3rd. I’ve asked this already a while ago, couldn’t find out myself:
Does anybody know if there’s a cctv at the crèche?

Don’t get me wrong - I am not suggesting for one minute that they should be “questionned” in the witness sense of the word. My point is that they would have had to tell them something about where Madeleine was. Family and friends were with the twins immediately afterwards and the twins would not lie and just say something like “maddie at beach..gone”
============
Not a problem, it’s a bit close to home for me, I think the twins would only repeat what they were told anyway, plus I think they were only 2 at the time.
February 20th, 2008 at 2:12 pm
If they were stoned I doubt they would remember
