Juan Jose Cortes, father of the missing girl, says: “Why didn’t they ask us? The three cases are not connected. We are with our lawyers.”
McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell says: “We did have permission from the family”

1494 - I have no idea, I think they originally said M was on a holiday but the psychologists told K & G they would be better off being honest with the twins. Still, who knows where the twins think she sent the christmas card from!

Bloody clever thing to tell two 2 year olds.
I don’t know what they said, I’m speculating. But they had to have said something if she disappeared before May 3rd.
I think possibly that Madeleine sleeping, not well, could have come into it…. but who knows?????????
They seem to be a somewhat dysfunctional family

I can go with that - but WHEN - the day before - the day after, when did they say that - it has to be linked in the twins mind. They can’t leave it open so the twins can say “mummy said yesterday maddie - monster- gone”. 2 years old have an ideas of time (today, yesterday etc)

My honest opinion is that the child went missing. The parents weren’t there. In my book that makes them culpable.
Whether the child is still alive I don’t know. My gut feeling is that, thinking of some of the alternatives, she may be better off dead.
I do not think she is a princess in a castle.
I believe that at some time the truth of what really happened in PdL in May 2007 will be revealed. And the parents will receive justice. One way or another.
I just hope I am around to see it.

Maybe the reports of all the children being in one room are actually accurate.
With so many kids about it would have been easier for Kate to tell the twins that Madeleine was having a bath in their apartment and would be with them once she was in her jamas.

Tanner had a daughter of similar age. What it not be easy for the PJ to ask if she had been playing with Maddie yesterday?

It is just possible that Tanners daughter was playing at BEING Maddie that day.
I think there is also a very good chance that the pool photo wasn’t taken on the 3rd.

the twins were about 18 months old at the time i think…they wouldnt know what day of the week it is, so it would have been pointless asking them imo. I doubt whatever did happen to maddie happened in front of them anyway and if it did they wouldnt understand anyway

Once the sleeping draught took effect they wouldn’t have to worry. All the twins would say was that Madeleine was having a bath.
They don’t seem, and never have seemed, particularly concerned about the effect a strange man in the apartment stealing their sister has had on the twins.
They were bloody quick to leave them to visit the Pope etc.
And don;t bother with the crap about they were with relatives. It was their parents they would have needed.

1. One of the arguments made that they didnt do anything on 3rd of May is that they didnt have time to sort it out. If this argument is valid, then an event prior to that removes the problem. I dont think all were involved, I suspect 4 of them and I think they did think it through and plan it for 3rd May.

IMO kate returned on Night 1st/2nd May something violent happened Maddie lay behind the Sofa. She went to bed & fell asleep, He went out early Wednesday morning she spent the day wondering how to tell him! They went out to the Tapas Wednesday night he was outgoing she was Quiet! She finally got around to telling him early on Thursday morning. He went into ER mode quickly controlling the situation and a damage limitation exercise
She signed the kids in for kids club both days, told him they had tea, she had put them to bed etc……
He was just happy that she was finally sorting the child care situation out so he didn’t have complaints any more, which meant he could enjoy his relaxing holiday and tennis lessons.
If they had told the authorities the truth, the time of death would have been discovered and the actual location of them all that Tuesday night would put the whole group in BIG trouble!
