Juan Jose Cortes, father of the missing girl, says: “Why didn’t they ask us? The three cases are not connected. We are with our lawyers.”
McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell says: “We did have permission from the family”

Could you please refrain from your list of shame.? I see this as a bullying tactic to try to force posters to think ‘like you’ and to exclude those on your list, forcing them to either leave or change identities to continue participating. Let us make up our own minds whose posts we think are worth reading or ignoring. We don’t need a hall monitor. Thanks.

The twins might yet prove to be the weakest link.
But dont expect anything will come from that source for a long long time.
More likely one of the tapas will spill the beans, then perhaps we’ll know what they could have said to the twins, cos we’ll know when it happened.
Course she left them straight away didn’t she : running back to the tapas bar shouting they’ve taken her.
Leave two more kids when one is missing???????????????????????????

Again agreed - but family etc flew out to PDL and looked after the twins. Please - get it out of my head if abduction is to be ruled out.
Most people on here have had young children - and they know if any thing different has gone on.

Latest News - The McCanns offer their help to family of missing gerbil., George the gerbil rolled out of the door in his ball at his home in Leciestershire last night. The McCanns feel they can help by adding his photo to the lastes posters!

Gath, two year old children talk even innocently about what they see. We had murder case over here last year - a policeman killed his 8 1/2 month pregnant girl friend who already had a son by him two years of age. The little boy kept saying “Mommy was crying, she broke the table, she is wrapped in a rug, daddy is mad” - that cop denied his killing her for all most two weeks but the police knew he did. They told her family and friends NOT to talk to the 2 year old son about it and it just came out of him voluntarily. If those twins had seen something or heard something caused by either of the parents prior to dinner they would have innocently said something to others. If that child was abducted by someone intent on getting her they would not have gone in there making loud noises or taking their time - they would have grabbed her and left quickly and not disturbed the twins to awaken them.
By the way, that cop was just convicted last week for the murder of the woman and the murder of his 8 1/2 month ready to be born baby girl who died in her womb upon her death. Double murders - jury decides next week if he gets the death sentence or life in jail.

And probably the one level that fills them with fear.
It is noticable that whilst they were happy for them to be photographed in PdL as soon as they got home they moved the goalposts and no-one was allowed to take pictures.
The twins seemed to be asleep a fair amount of the time ( airport photos etc). and in Gerry’s blogs he said something about wanting the twins to grow up “normally”.
I can;’t remember the exact words he used, but it struck me as strange at the time. Madeleiene hadn;t been missing that long, and he was talking about the twins growing up.
Whatever guff they told them at the time has long been forgotten by the twins IMO.
They’ll have been told all sorts of wonderful tales since and won’t remember which from what,.
I expect Madeleine was with Father Christmas for a while, and now she’s with the Easter Bunny.
No doubt the tooth fairy has made an appearance in the story too.

Agreed - they HAD to say something to the twins. That is the problem I have with any other theory. It is at the simplest level - but the only level they cannot have been guaranteed to control.
