Can someone please tell me why Sky News has BREAKING NEWS that is FIVE days old? Didn’t this young lady supposedly spot “Madeleine” last week Friday?

I have NOT seen the news but imagine some silly pratt saying ” im 103% certain it was her, I was standing right next to her and looked in her eyes, oh yes it was her, but just as i returned from telling the shopkeeper over the road “woooosh clunk” she was gone as quick as she appeared……now can i have a reward and my picture in the paper……………….. Bunch of losers all these witnesses in my opinion

Julie, may I ask how old your son is now? I ask only because I was hoping beyond hope that my sons memory of a tragedy he saw 10 years ago may fade somewhat

He’s 5 1/2 now just_me, so the incident happened just over four years ago (it was just before Christmas). I don’t want to scare you, but I doubt very much if your son’s mind has forgotten what he saw. The human mind is an amazing thing, and something extremely traumatic can be blocked out by supressed memory. However, that supressed memory is capable of coming back at any time, anything can trigger it, a smell, a small sound or seeing something can bring that memory back. I’m hoping that your son does not remember what he saw, but the probability is very likely. (I know exactly what you’re talking about, and I’m trying to be very diplomatic here, but you need to be prepared for it to happen quite suddenly).

What parents? K&G you mean? Not sure about the quality of the surveillance camera’s. I guess a lot of little girls look like Madeleine.
The French police confirmed they are investigating the “tip” and the manager of L’Arche [that's where it happened] confirmed the girl was really upset. A friend of her witnessed it too. They tried to take a picture, but failed. They weren’t clever enough to follow the guy and take a note of his license plates.
Could be another hysteria lunatic though!

Nemesis… there can’t an inquest here for Madeleine if her body isn’t found because she didn’t go missing in UK. If her body was found and returned here then there would be an inquest.

Jolie.. I really don’t know about the McCann / Healy Grandmas, but the papers will keep contacting the various family members asking questions, looking for quotes. Its just like cold calling with the tabloids! Slow news day? ring one of the McCanns or whoever……..

Jolie, I will say that I was quite shocked when he came out with it. We had been extra careful not to talk about it in front of him. At first it wasn’t clear to us what he kept on repeating, but eventually as time went on, he became more and more clear about what he remembered. If I hadn’t experienced it first hand, I probably wouldn’t have believed it, however he obviously had this picture in his little mind, and was waiting for the day when he could make his feelings known.
It would really have been my preference that he not remember a thing about it, but as you say, it had a very deep imprint on him, and he needed to get it out. He does talk about it less and less nowadays, but the other day when I walked into his bedroom, he was holding his toy gun to his teddy bear’s head and saying “this is what bad men do”. I’m praying that over time he will forget about it, I don’t speak about it to him, and when he does come out with something, I try to ignore it (perhaps wrong from my part, but I feel that he does need to forget about it, and I think that if I discuss it with him, he will never forget).
These little ones are a lot smarter than we give them credit for!
